Giving Celine stuff?

Has anyone tried to give her anything during the show on this tour? (flower, frog) Did it work?

I wanted to give her a letter during my first show in Antwerp but after all I failed, I've been to shy and haven't found enough courage to go forward when she was right in front of me during "PQTME"...

 

But we managed to give her a frog and a card after one of the shows in Montréal when she's been leaving the venue. Actually the frog wasn't ment to go but when we gave her the car, she also catched the frog and took it with her, hihi...

 

I've seen a guy giving her flowers and even getting an autograph and a kiss from her during the show in Cologne but I think I really wouldn't have gutts to do something like that when the concert is on and with all those security guys around.

Uhm in Philadelphia a girl gave her a rose that she kept during "I'm Your Angel".

In Munich Silvia and I have thrown a peluches on the stage at the beginning of "love Can Move Mountains" and she caught it and kept it for a while!

 

I mean ... if you have the possibility, why not?

Yes sometimes you can give her stuff. At the Montreal show I went to somebody ave her a rose during S'il suffisait d'aimer (You can see the video of that on the thread that includes the Aug 25th show).

 

Also, the other night at the Washington D.C. show she noticed someone in the floor seats areas trying to ive her some flowers and it was really nice that she let him hand it up to her on stage.

 

Obviously everyone does not et the opportunity to do this but it happened in those shows.

Security doesn't intervene if you try to approach the stage? And the venues let you walk in with flowers? I know some have rules that you aren't supposed to bring gifts for the artist.

From what I've seen, even though there is a lot of security, you should be able to bring flowers, maybe other things in. I know one thing, almost all of the tickets for each venue say "No cameras or recording devices" but at the D.C. show I went to there were paper signs on the entrance doors that said "No professional cameras allowed" which basically meant you could bring your camera. I brought mine in and it was in my hand in plain sight and they did not even look at me. The were going through handbags, but you could still bring a camera. At the Canadian show I went to they did not even do that! They checked nothing!

 

So don't be afraid to bring some of these things.

The security fears "throwing stuff at her" but handing her stuff is usually ok during the show!! But you have to be pretty close.

The best thing is to give her bodyguards gifts or stuffed animals, they put them directly in the car.

Well... I'm in the front row in a couple weeks, now this topic has me thinking... I would only approach her if I felt it was the right moment though. Timing is everything!

 

Steve, thanks for clearing up the camera info. - I've been meaning to ask about that. Everyone says they've been pretty lenient, but it could've just been the venue.

I think the camera issue really depends on venue. If it were just up to Céline and her team, they don't mind (not professional) cameras at all.

But the venues themselves treat this matter differently. Indeed, in Montréal they haven't checked anything, same happened to me in Amsterdam when they even forgot to check my TICKETS, not speaking about my bag, lol...

But for example in Paris or in Cologne or in Hamburg they were quite strict...

My friend from German forum had a gift for Céline and wanted to bring it into the venue and try to hand it to Céline during the show but the security guys at the entrance were very strict and they didn't allow her bringing that gift in, even flowers were not allowed... But than during the show I've seen someone else giving Céline flowers... So that really made me sad for my friend as for her it was the only chance, her only Céline concert... Fortunately she got her reward in Berlin one week later but that's the other story.

 

Ashley, I know I would regret it as hell! But on that point I thought to myself: it's my first concert and I will be going to a few others so I still have chance to try during other concerts or at the hotels... And indeed, 2 days later I managed to hand that letter to Céline's bodyguard at her hotel. I haven't been lucky to get to her personally but the bodyguard has been very helpful and I know Céline received my letter.

But if that first concert would be also my last one, I know I would really made it and went for it!...

I think they are just trying discourage people from bringing in big, pro cameras or from people making high quality audio recordings. Most digital cameras have sound but it's pretty bad although you can get some good photos now even with the smaller cameras. It's pretty hard to stop people from bringing these in. Almost everyone has a cell phone with a camera (although it may not take great pictures) so they can't take all of those.

 

They know that the average person just want to take some personal pictures and maybe get some video which is not going to be as good as what they are using to film the DVD's. They just don't want someone to come in with expensive cameras and film video then sell it.

 

What I thought was kind of funny at the Montreal show is when I went to get a bottle of water they would not let you keep the cap. My guess is that they did not want people to throw them, although you could have thrown the empty bottle! I could be wrong about that reason, but it could be true and they may do that at every show, not just Celine's.

At least at the Montreal show the water was a reasonable price. At the DC show they were selling it for FOUR DOLLARS A BOTTLE! And there were no water fountains I could find so I ended up giving in.

Yeah that happened to me too when I went to a different concert (Warped Tour in Indiana)...he handed me the water bottle and I was like, "Um, can I have the cap?" and he said no and I was like wtf? And this is WARPED, where people are throwing shoes and wallets and all kinds of crazy crap and he wouldn't let me keep a cap.

I doubt unless someone in the front row launched it hard it would barely even touch Celine lol plus, with how much she moves around, it'd be near impossible to hit her let alone inflict damage...and seriously, who would want to do that?

I just saw her in Toronto, and they wouldn't let me keep my cap either!!LOL Although from what I am reading, I got a deal on my Dasani, it only cost me 3.75..LOL It was a real B**** trying to maneuver through the crowds on the way to my seat with no cover on a full bottle of water!!

 

However, I was so excited about seeing for the first time, I didn't drink half of it anyways. There were some signs, but not many at the show I saw, but there were many cameras. I myself, hid mine in my waistband of my pants just in case, but I think security was more concerned about alcohol, and of course, bringing in your own bottled water!!

That bottle cap thing was so stupid. We sat front row in Montreal and I had put my bottle on the floor with no cap. Well, during my excitement for between RDMH and MHWG in the darkness and in the midst of my excitement, I accidentally kicked the bottle and it spilled. So Celine started MHWGO and security ran up to where we were seated and started picking up the cords off the floor (the one that led to a shoulder cam). What was the worst is that they called ina guy with a mop right in the middle of the song. So i got some nasty stares for spoiled view of Celine. Lol. But heck, why on earth they give bottles without a cap? The cap cant even fly that far anyway. And I am sure if someone wanted to throw anything at Celine it would be a bottle cap. Plus, it is not a rock concert and people that attend Celine;s shows are mostly well mannered and respectful.
