celinecolombian Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:05 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:05 AM very similar about theme... I also love This Time, it should be a single with a powerfull video Quote
KimboCosmo Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:15 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:15 AM I agree, there needs to be a powerful video for that song Quote http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2765/48940711.png "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." aicee Posted July 25, 2008 at 03:07 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 03:07 AM I don't think that the two song have a similarity. "This Time" is much more deeper while Treat her like a lady is a type of song which is pop rock. The only similarity that the two song have is that Celine sang that both song. LOl! just kidding. Hilda Posted July 25, 2008 at 08:59 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 08:59 AM I like the beat of LIAWN. Very heavy. Too me, the only thing weird is her voice that has that "britney" effect. omg of everything that was cheaply produced on one heart i looooove Love Is All We need! I wouldnt change it at all, bu thats just me. Quote
Black Kitten Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:24 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:24 AM (edited) honestly speaking, i can't see their similarities. THLAL is prolly one of celine's horrible tracks ever, while TT belongs to her countless gems. however, THLAL is a happy upbeat raggae song with a playful lyrics. so i really don't take this song so seriously, as it is obviously not as serious as TT. and it's surprising how celine's name appeared as one of the writters, knowing the fact that Diana King penned this song and celine only added and edited some of its part. TT has a very dark and serious topic. in TT, you'll find celine talking about a woman who's suffering from an abusive relationship and learning how to get through the situation. it's every women's anthem, with or without issues, while THLAL is a song that i wish celine didn't think of recording LOL Edited July 25, 2008 at 10:26 AM by dhena Quote
zoea2812 Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:31 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:31 AM I agree, Im not that keen on Treat Her Like A lady, it is not one of Celine's better tracks, thats for sure. Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/NHASig1.jpg
Javier_Natalio Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:32 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 10:32 AM Again I wish I knew how to multiquote, cause I have to reply to both Aicee and Dhena: you both seems like very smart and pretty ladies!!! Quote
Black Kitten Posted July 25, 2008 at 11:47 AM Posted July 25, 2008 at 11:47 AM omg i wish i am that smart, but look at my spelling, "raggae"? im sorry, it's reggae gross! LOL Quote
grobandion Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:14 PM Author Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:14 PM well dhena, you ARE smart. In this ocasion I disagree with you (kinda obvious since I started the topic).Off course the two songs are different, and THLAL has a lighter meaning, and also it's delivered in a very up-tempo way...unlike TTThe one thing I was trying to get the attention to was the fact that Celine has dealt with important issues in the past...like in THLAL or LIAWNI disagree that THLAL is just about cheating a girl. It speaks on how this "emotional" abuse affects her life, the way she behaves and it literally says she ends up in jail for attaking the man.So, I see this song as the first attempt to speak about something serious....that went on with LIAWN and finally found the perfect way to be delivered in TT, a true gem But hey, that's just my opinion and I truly appreciate everyone's opinion here, as always.I wish tony had replied too... saludos Quote
CelineRules! Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:25 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:25 PM I always thought THLAL was a bit underrated. If it had been on another album lots of people would have loved it.. Now it doesn't seem to fit in with all the other songs. Personally I love that song, and I agree it's a more light hearted than This Time. Although the music probably adds to that... Quote
Nando Férri Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:39 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:39 PM THLAL isn't pop rock... That's a mix of pop/reagge... I like it. But TT (which is a pop/rock/gothic song) is way deeper. Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4ejungtQy1r9swpco6_250.gif
Hilda Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:46 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 12:46 PM i always saw treat hear like a lady as being the 'make you happy' of lets talk about love...i dunno why. maybe the reggae type vibe. i just love it. Quote
CelineRox Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:13 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 01:13 PM Why do so many people hate THLAL I love this song - what's so bad about it?! Quote http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm31/celinedion82/Emilylove-signature-1.jpg

She's trying to be black now. Only to sell more..." Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4ejungtQy1r9swpco6_250.gif
celineargento Posted July 25, 2008 at 05:04 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 05:04 PM I don't think this is about which song you like more.I never had noticed before the lyrics in THLAL nor LIAWN, and I founr very interesting to see how Celine dealt with serious issues in the past...or at least tryied to. Terre Posted July 25, 2008 at 05:18 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 05:18 PM I believe THis Time is way more adult and hard, in its subjetc and the way it's delivered by Celine I agree that This Time is more "adult" and hard, more serious than those other two we're talking about. It's like someone's saying "I'm really serious here, I've had enough this time." Treat Her Like A Lady is still a little less serious, though it's also like an angry woman's message for a guy who's not treating her well. But I think this song isn't about physical abuse, but betraying and the guy having another woman. While This Time clearly speaks about physical beating. But in my opinion, Love Is All We Need speaks about not caring other people around in general, not about women specifically. So to me it falls into a little different category than This Time and Treat Her Like A Lady. Well, those are just my opinions about these songs. I couldn't agree more. KimboCosmo Posted July 26, 2008 at 03:42 AM Posted July 26, 2008 at 03:42 AM Yeah, they both have a different beat, but they both have lyrics that are dealing with serious issues...you get a different feeling from THLAL than TT, but I still love them both. beautyroses Posted July 26, 2008 at 08:50 AM Posted July 26, 2008 at 08:50 AM I love this kind of songs, about real things and I adore "this time" there is such a great passion in there and it is uplifting so beside all the sad story it talks aboout,it says to you it is last time and you should control your life Quote http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac137/Venus_1982/new1.jpgAngel of My World[/i]
beautyroses Posted July 26, 2008 at 08:56 AM Posted July 26, 2008 at 08:56 AM treat her like a lady has a fun part ,and maybe people don't pay attention to the lyrics that much, but the first time I heard it I said to myself this song is so real,it is really about boys especially in here, they only want to take advantage of girls.but this time has so muh passion and strong feeling cause Celine felt the pain inside of her she imagined herself like the abused woman, and the song drwas you in completely Quote http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac137/Venus_1982/new1.jpgAngel of My World[/i]
Jacqui Posted July 26, 2008 at 09:50 AM Posted July 26, 2008 at 09:50 AM I see the similarity now that it's been pointed out, but I never did before. This Time is obviously a very dark, serious song. Treat Her Like A Lady has some serious lyrics, but it's not presented in a way that people would take as much notice of that. The music and the way Celine sings it don't really suggest "listen up, this is about women being abused", but more "guys, don't be jerks, and now we're gonna dance around about it." Quote
Javier_Natalio Posted July 26, 2008 at 12:30 PM Posted July 26, 2008 at 12:30 PM "guys, don't be jerks, and now we're gonna dance around about it." High-larious. "I'm dead serious about this, and I'll prove it to you by performing my ritual hula-hoop dance!" Quote
Jacqui Posted July 26, 2008 at 12:40 PM Posted July 26, 2008 at 12:40 PM LOL! Well it is kind of like that haha! The way she sings it totally doesn't fit whatever serious message is in the song! Quote
SensationalCeline Posted July 27, 2008 at 01:02 AM Posted July 27, 2008 at 01:02 AM I love them both. I know that she deals with a lot of darker subjects in her French music than in her English but I don't know French. GoldenLeaf Posted July 27, 2008 at 01:27 AM Posted July 27, 2008 at 01:27 AM ''This Time'' is a bad produced song with bad vocals. Probably the worst song on Taking Chances along with ''A Song For You'' and ''New Dawn''. Give me ''Treat Her Like A Lady'' and ''Love Is All We Need'' any day. These two songs are masterpieces. Jan Posted July 27, 2008 at 08:28 PM Posted July 27, 2008 at 08:28 PM ''This Time'' is a bad produced song with bad vocals. Probably the worst song on Taking Chances along with ''A Song For You'' and ''New Dawn''. Give me ''Treat Her Like A Lady'' and ''Love Is All We Need'' any day. These two songs are masterpieces. Could you elaborate on why This Time is bad produced? In my opinion it is perfectly produced and the vocals suit the mood of the song perfectly. It's OK, however, that our opinions differ. Quote
Hilda Posted July 28, 2008 at 08:28 AM Posted July 28, 2008 at 08:28 AM (edited) ''This Time'' is a bad produced song with bad vocals. Probably the worst song on Taking Chances along with ''A Song For You'' a-men - its that moody bloke....he ruined alone and "this time" alike. The only good bit of the song is the "ah ah ah ah ah ah ah" at the start then the rest is just durge. Edited July 28, 2008 at 08:29 AM by Hilda Quote
