IMO? LMAO? OMG?.....help please

Recommended Posts

Hi, all. I hesitated a lot before starting this topic. I had a terrible experience some months ago when I was chatting in English and I asked what a few expressions meant.

They basically told me not to chat in english if I could speak in english...

I have been studying for quite long time now, but there are still many expressions I don't understand

That is why I would truly appreciate if someone could explain me the meaning of some words such as:

LMAO, OMG, IMO...and some others I can't recall now but I have read in many topics and didn't understand

My experience in this forum since the day I joined has been amazing, so I'm not afraid of rejection here

bye, and thanks

gracias

LMAO = Laughing My #ss Off

OMG= Oh My God

IMO= In My Opinion

IMHO= In My Humble Opinion

De nada! And I can't believe someone said that to you. How is anyone supposed to learn a language if they can't ask what certain words mean?

well, I didn't know many of those either, so thanks for the explanation. The topic about the "straight" issue I started is filled with those I didn't know what they meant.

I do now, so thanks for that

For the most part anytime you see an "F" in an acronym like that you can probably be sure it stands for f**k, :mdr: Because you can add it to ANYTHING :sofunny:

I know the feeling. Sometimes I even go to a site that lists the songs alphabetically to try to find what they're talking about... :laugh:
