But then again...as most of us I'm very much hurt about the promotion of TC very much for the lack of extra material (mixes, videos, b-sides)....but then again it seems that record companies are really having a though time, most of all by not taking risks and making huge mistakes.....this was just posted on PEREZHILTON about Janet Jackson when asked about the next single...

 

That’s pretty difficult to say, only because of the record label at this point. We started off with Feedback and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the Feedback single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album.

 

it may explain what is the situation around artists and labels....and once again the only thing the artist can hold on to is touring...do you think it has been the same for Celine? A tendency on the music biz....the same as holding to a successful album for as long as you can with remakes of the same, in which i guess the best example would be Loose by Nelly Furtado which has TONS of different material all over the world...remember that also promotion on BLACKOUT by Britney (which I hate but I guess it's worth to mention on this subject) has been pulled off....no more videos, no more anything

It's one thing to promote an album and then abandon it for underachieving....

 

It's another thing not to promote at all w/c was what happened to TCH....

 

Then again, it has sold 3.1M copies in 7 weeks according to the IFPI and it's among the top 4 bestselling albums from Sony BMG accdng. to its most recent report.........

 

Sony is undoubtedly lucky to have Celine.....

Then again, as I've said before (and others as well here on this forum) when an artist reaches a certain level of success and legend status as Celine has, no emphasis is really placed on promoting singles. The albums will continue to be successful as Taking Chances has, but I guess there is no need for Celine to prove anything anymore.

 

And remember what Celine has said before... She has said that her job is just to record her music and she does not really get involved in what the record company does in order to get the albums into the market.
