godessceline Posted June 3, 2008 at 05:10 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 05:10 PM She should hide in a box like LTAL tour, this is my point. yes, that sounds comfortable and cool and absolutely lovely. tonybower Posted June 4, 2008 at 02:30 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 02:30 PM of coure i have seen the "falling into you" -tour live and "lets talk about love" live her in germany - and that is exactelly my point.i don´t want to see things exploding or whatever, but a slightly more sophisticated stage that transports the mood of the songs a bit would not be bad."falling into you" or "live in memphis", as you call it, had at least a stairway and different levels on stage, and so did "lets talk about love" - celine appeared out of the bottom of stage, or the titanic sort of rose at the end of the show when she did mhwgo. little effects, and it made the shows great. but this flat cheap thing she is on outdoors right now - that is so outdated. nobody uses such a stage anymore - and certainly not an artist of highest international stardom as celine. i think it is totally weired - to get back to the topic of this item. to see her walking on stage and - as some report from Dublin - to even see her change her costumes. weired. and a bit cheap. I guess you have a point. I thought your gripe was with the stage in general but now I realise that you are mainly concerned about the end stage she has been using. I suppose it would be disppointing to turn up to such a huge stadium and struggle even to see the monitors, and have Celine moving about on a very flat, very basic stage. I'm sure it is just a question of logistics though. I mean, just like we can't expect her to have different setlists for every continent, we can't really expect her to have a different number of stages. The centre stage is impressive and complicated enough. I think it is a pity that some venues might require or be best suited to an end stage because this means the centre stage cannot be used. I really don't think it is a question of not wanting to transport the stage to Ireland just for one concert, because after all it is being transported everywhere else. Somebody else mentioned that another show was scheduled for the next day... maybe it just wasn't feasible to come up with anything more impressive. But I see what you mean about the other concerts we discussed. FIY did have various levels for the musicians and the staircase... and that little bit extra does make all the difference. But given the demanding schedule of the tour, given the fact that the centre stage cannot be used at some venues (for whatever reason), I think it is hard to find the time to plan, transport and accomodate a second stage. It is a shame that some people/places miss out on the full impact of the centre stage, but in the grand scheme of things, it might not be so bad. But maybe I'll change my opinion when I see the end stage in Nice...! leenylover Posted June 7, 2008 at 08:42 AM Posted June 7, 2008 at 08:42 AM I think some of you are a little disappointed that this tour seems to have lost some of the Mystery: "Just how/when did Celine get to the stage? She must be magic!" Sometimes you don't want to see what happens behind the scenes or how things have happened. I can understand that. But this tour was about Celine getting back out there to the less polished side of showbiz. She has worked in Vegas for years with a show that is very structured and regimented, there was no real opportunity to relax with the audience and connect with them on a more personal level. I think that was what she missed and is trying to acheive with this tour. From the shows I have seen, when she connects with the crowd, she absolutely thrives off it! She has already done making her way to the stage in a box, so she knew that was an option. I think she intentionally wanted to walk through. To be able to punch her way through the crowd and declare "I'm Here!" SHe looks so excited to do that! And the people who are close to her also love it. In the concerts I saw, it actually added to the build-up, a bit like when the reigning heavy-weight champ makes his way to the ring! All of the artists I have seen who perform "in the round" walk to the stage, Mariah wasn't even performing in the round, but still walked through the fans! Prince walked through (with a massive entourage!). All of these artists seemed to enjoy the opportunity to get close to the fans as they walked through, and I believe that's exactly why they do it. StephenDIVA(UK) Posted June 7, 2008 at 09:13 AM Posted June 7, 2008 at 09:13 AM I agree...I think for this tour Celine walking to the stage through the crowd is perfect.....for many who couldn't get to Vegas she has been away a long while and this opportunity to get right back in there with the crowd is like her way of saying.."Hey Imissed you, thanks for waiting, great to be with you and lets high five and have a great night together"....The secret move to the centre on the Talk about Love Tour was fine for then but this is a reconnect tour and I LOVE IT...just wish I had been closer to the areas where she walked in on the two concerts I attended....maybe I can save up and go toa USA concert later and get a seat in that area then LOL.Stephen UK Quote http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc160/casunley/97460608200x147.jpg
Céline's Blues Posted June 7, 2008 at 11:33 AM Posted June 7, 2008 at 11:33 AM i do indeed think it is weired - here comes my old stage story again (everybody here hates me for it) but i think it is linked to this completely unspectectular outdoor stage. no "wow"-effect as she has indoors - no elevators, no stairs, she walks on and off which is indeed a bit unspectacular and - in my opinion - not really approbtiate for her. she is not a part of a festival, this is her own tour after such a long time - should be a bit more glamouros. Good God, let it go. It's Céline Dion we're talking here about, not Madonna or Mylene Farmer. She doesn't need any sort of wow-factor to vow the audience. I beg your pardon. venezia7 Posted June 12, 2008 at 01:51 AM Posted June 12, 2008 at 01:51 AM i think its great either way...there is good to both of them.i think its great for the fans if they get to have celine walk right past them. and this way she can really rev the audience up. but its also good when she is hidden in a box because then its a good suprise at the beggining of the show.i would be happy with either to be honest. Thomas Posted June 14, 2008 at 07:39 PM Posted June 14, 2008 at 07:39 PM She had to have walked out, there is no other way for her to get there that I can think of. Maybe you just missed it? Quote
CelineRox Posted June 14, 2008 at 07:46 PM Posted June 14, 2008 at 07:46 PM hmmm I don't think I would have missed it! We had floor seats so unless she entered on the OTHER side of the stage and everyone sat in silence when they saw her cos I don't remember hearing any cheering like when she walked to the sage at the o2 About 10 minutes before concert started there was a bit of commotion when RC and her mum sat in the audience Quote http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm31/celinedion82/Emilylove-signature-1.jpg
