Chula Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:44 AM Posted June 2, 2008 at 09:44 AM As you watch bootlegs from Belgium and Manchester, Celine is seen walking to the stage, she even allows audiences to touch her in the same way she leaves the stage. I think it's weird. How can she reveals herself before the show REALLY kicks off? Quote

aicee Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:00 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:00 PM I think it's ok for me. And is it cool do let her fans to touch her. Maybe she tell her bodyguards to let the fans because it is the only way "SHE" and "US" do connect in other ways. It's sweet. Some artist don't want to touch them. Celine is Simply the Best. Quote
Krys Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:04 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:04 PM Some artist don't want to touch them like *cough*Mariah*cough* if Celine doesnt walks to the stage, how do you expect her to get to the stage? lol... Quote
Chula Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:44 PM Author Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:44 PM how do you expect her to get to the stage? lol... It's not funny. Why laughing? My point is it is not exciting to see a singer before the show begins. Quote
MartinMunich Posted June 2, 2008 at 01:31 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 01:31 PM i do indeed think it is weired - here comes my old stage story again (everybody here hates me for it) but i think it is linked to this completely unspectectular outdoor stage. no "wow"-effect as she has indoors - no elevators, no stairs, she walks on and off which is indeed a bit unspectacular and - in my opinion - not really approbtiate for her. she is not a part of a festival, this is her own tour after such a long time - should be a bit more glamouros. Surely she isn't seen walking to the stage during the outdoor shows? I mean, during these shows she has an end-stage which would mean there is also a backstage! A place to change and a place to exit by... I realise there are no ramps etc but I'm sure she doesn't pass through the crowd to take to the stage like she does for the centre-stage shows. And as for the glamour... have you not seen Live a Paris or Live in Memphis? These are both end-stage shows and both (particulalry Paris) are incredible. No dazzling effects, no confusing costumes or dance routines... just Celine, her musicians and an incredible performance. Personally, I don't need special effects or ornamentation to appreciate a Celine show. In fact, I would prefer it if there weren't any. these big, demanding but visual impressive shows are, in my opinion, favoured by artists whose vocal abilities are not enough to impress a crowd. I'm also certain that if there were a way to avoid walking through the crowd before the show, Celine would opt for it. I do not object to her doing this but I agree that watching her take to the stage kind of spoils the effect of her appearing for the first song. However, in Manchester this was not a problem because Celine's arrival was not welcomed by hundreds of fans screaming at her. At least, I didn't notice. Now that most people have come to expect Celine to walk past, they prepare themselves to go crazy. The trouble with centre-stage is that there is no back-stage. I for one do not expect Celine to camp out under the stage through support acts, right up until the venue has emptied at the end of the night. hamiltonclare Posted June 2, 2008 at 07:12 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 07:12 PM I think that it would be mad to expect Celine, the band and the dancers to hide under the stage for 2 hours before the show and then another half hour at least until the auditorium empties, did you notice how low it is under there!! I hardly think that she would be in the best of moods after sitting under there for all that time!! Plus, in order for her to get out before all the traffic builds up outside the arena, she needs to get out quick! I think its fine that she comes in and out for all to see, particularly for the fans who get to shake her hand as she enters/exits. I suppose I'm glad I never saw her enter during the first Manchester show since she was wearing new costumes and when she rose on the platform wearing that little pink dress it was cool since we got the full effect of the reveal instead of knowing what the new costume looked like. But it doesn't really matter otherwise, it took her like 10 seconds to rush to the stage so you don't really get to see much anyway unless you're beside her. Quote

I for one do not expect Celine to camp out under the stage through support acts, right up until the venue has emptied at the end of the night. of coure i have seen the "falling into you" -tour live and "lets talk about love" live her in germany - and that is exactelly my point.i don´t want to see things exploding or whatever, but a slightly more sophisticated stage that transports the mood of the songs a bit would not be bad."falling into you" or "live in memphis", as you call it, had at least a stairway and different levels on stage, and so did "lets talk about love" - celine appeared out of the bottom of stage, or the titanic sort of rose at the end of the show when she did mhwgo. little effects, and it made the shows great. but this flat cheap thing she is on outdoors right now - that is so outdated. nobody uses such a stage anymore - and certainly not an artist of highest international stardom as celine. i think it is totally weired - to get back to the topic of this item. to see her walking on stage and - as some report from Dublin - to even see her change her costumes. weired. and a bit cheap. Xpresso Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:27 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:27 PM I think it's great that we see Celine going on stage!! It makes the crowd go crazy (good audience warm-up)!!!She did hide in a box in the past to get to center stage but now it's different... and IT'S GREAT! If she would hide in a box again, everyone would know it and fans would try to touch all the boxes hoping it's the CELINE BOX!!! And she would get dizzy and throw up... Quote
Timster Posted June 3, 2008 at 04:33 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 04:33 PM I think it's a bit weird. Why can't she just stay under the stage where she doues to get changed?? Does she go through a hole in the side to get under the stage or does she literally walk onto the stage and into the box thing?? Quote
tonybower Posted June 3, 2008 at 04:41 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 04:41 PM (edited) She goes under the stage at the beginning and comes up through the centre surrounded by the screens before they are lifted. This is a great effect!. You do not see her climbing onto the stage. I think she might walk onto the stage from the side for I'm Alive but that is because the dancers are in the middle with a dance prop.
