ce-line Posted May 28, 2008 at 04:06 PM Posted May 28, 2008 at 04:06 PM Well I know that the show in Stockholm still have seats left. And I wont buy tickets and I can no longer recommend people I know to buy tickets. Besides the huge price (which I would pay if I thought it was worth it) the setlist is booring, it all seems rushed, and the fact that I know some songs like MHWGO and TPOL are lipped to the same old live versions we have heard before. And two (yes two now after some songs have been excluded) soulful performances (Alone, My Love) does not carry up the intire concert nor the price of €170. Let's say that the minuses of the TC tour are a bit more than the pluses, and I wont act like I support something which I don't want to be that way. Simple as that. /fred I honestly believe that you should reconsider... Maybe I'm biased but the show is fantastic even if the setlist isn't as current as we would like.I had tickets to several shows and after hearing about the setlist I considered selling some... but then I attended my first show in Manchester and selling was no longer an option. The show was incredible (... even for all the non-fans who I dragged along with me and who are cynical about Celine and who object to lip-synching!) I know exactly which songs and which song segments are lipped and it really doesn't matter. When she songs live it is mind-blowing! Celine is electric beginning to end... and it's not rushed... She may not spend a lot of time talking to the audience bu the show lasts for two hours and there are 25 songs or something! Ten years ago there were fewers songs and therefore more time to engage... If anything, we're spoilt! I promise that the show will not disappoint you. I don't know if you have ever seen her live or not... I don't know how much you care for her music... but watching DVDs and video bootlegs and anything remotely connected to the Vegas show can never prepare you for watching a live Celine Dion show. She is phenomenal. She's incredibly beautiful on stage and her voice is a miracle. Please don't let a a price tag of €175 or a setlist that doesn't seem too great stop you from going. It could be the last time she tours and I really don't think you want to miss it. Agree! Couldn't have said it better myself... I understand that the setlist doesn't excite you as much as it could have had there been more of her new songs on there. However; nothing compares to going to see Celine in concert, even if some of the songs are lipped, regardless of the setlist. This woman could sing the phonebook for 2 hours and I don't think it would be boring. Vegas cost hundreds of dollars/euros, she sang only her older songs and lipped part of the show. Yet the shows I saw there were an experience I will cherish forever (not because of the show around it, I only had eyes for Celine anyways) Quote

No Hungary, no Greece etc. that is what makes me very sad, as i am a truem "die-hard" fan, but this part feels left out on this such a huge tour... with all the problems with visas for western countries we are having, we will not have many chances to see her live Edited May 28, 2008 at 04:32 PM by mb011 Quote

tonybower Posted May 29, 2008 at 12:44 PM Posted May 29, 2008 at 12:44 PM (edited) I think that, far from bombing, this tour has actually done something to improve Celine's reputation and career... Certainly in the UK. Despite some negative press in France (and even this seemed more geared to the show rather than Celine) Celine has been well received: in the UK Think Twice was 'rediscovered', albums re-entered the charts and everybody who attended the shows was blown away. Critics were forced to recognise her talent for once and didn't seem to focus on her 'sugary' mainstream music as they did in the past... I personally saw non-fans blown away by her performance... It's true that she has not been seen in magazines for ten years and younger people would not even know who she is but, despite poor promotion of the tour, nearly all UK events were near-sold out and I haven't heard a bad word said about Celine. Maybe in today's world where talent and professionalism are rare, she actually came as a breath of fresh air! Nobody can deny that Celine is a professional and a perfectionist who commands the stage as soon as she takes to it. And even though Celine has admitted to being less preoccupied with this kind of stuff, her delivery is never compromised and is still 100% more than any other artist I have seen. I know people who attended Kylie and Beyoncé concerts, Take That and other shows, and they said that Celine was by far the most impressive. I can't comment on that as I haven't attended the other shows, but something tells me they might be right... MamaOlga Posted May 29, 2008 at 01:16 PM Posted May 29, 2008 at 01:16 PM What can I say about all of this...Celine means a lot for me. Her songs, every of her song, have been living in my heart since 1996. Saying "I love Celine" - it's not an empty sound for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have a possibility to visit her show in Las-Vegas. When I knew that she's going on tour, I was so glad! And I did all to be at her concert in Paris. Her show was incredible!!! My husband, who went there with me, was excited - though he is not Celine's fan and he knows only "MHWGO" & "ABM". In my opinion, Celine has a few really good videoclips, but like a live performer she is the best in the world! Her voice, her energy blow me away absolutely... She was singing like she did it specially for you, looking in your eyes. It was really amazing! And even though I'd prefer to listen to the some other songs, that were not included in the setlist, that show is splendid! That's why I'm going to be at her concert in Helsinki.I'm from Russia, and it's a so big dissapointment that Celine wouldn't come to Russia during her tour. A plenty of her russian fans wait for her every year! We discuss it almost every day on our Russian fansite. I'm sure that if she came to Russia all the tickets would be sold out very soon! But what could we do... it rests for russian fans only to spend a lot of time & money to visit her european shows. But it's worth it!!!I love you, Celine! Thanks that you exists! Quote If I could... Bralo20 Posted June 3, 2008 at 06:03 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 06:03 PM The concerts in Antwerp were not sold out in advance but were sold out (or a few seats short of a complete sold out hall) on the 3 days. I attended the show on the 14th and there were only a few seats left in the whole house. From friends visiting the show on the 13th I heard the same story. On the 16th there wasn't a single empty seat in the house. I even tried to get tickets on the evening itself (because it was not sold out in advance) but when I got there it was completely sold out. I think if there were additional shows they would also be sold out... Céline Dion is one of the few singers or groups that can be sure of a sold out place (or nearly sold out). On the other hand it can change very fast... I remember the tour of Bruce Springsteen back in 2002 with his "The Rising" tour where he gave his concert in the King Boudewijn stadium in Brussels. It houses about 55.000 people and was sold out in no time. This month he was scheduled to play again in the same stadium but it was moved because the sale was back... They moved the concert to the Antwerp Sportpaleis (from 55.000 to 15.000 in capacity), until today the show isn't sold out even with the smaller place. He's one of the artists standing at the absolute top but it seems that ain't enough to sell enough tickets to a show. Maybe it will be the same with Céline on some day... She's one of the top artists but I can imagine that at one day she can't fill places either. And it varies also from place to place... In Belgium Céline is carried on our hands but I can imagine that it's different in other countries. What helps also is the fact that she hasn't toured in nearly a decade... People were waiting to see her perform again nearby home. Therefor Las Vegas isn't to bad afterall. I know that a lot of people weren't to happy with the fact that she stayed and performed for more then 5 years in Vegas but you must admit that it is the best decission made ever. And I think the same will happen again. When the tour is finished next year she will take a break for about half a year and then she will rehearse for a new show in Vegas where she will be probably staying for at least 3 years. After this another album will be released and she will tour again with sold out places as a result, since people are anxious to see her again and have waited again for several years... Quote ...
