From what I understood, Garou kept wanting to make an English album and René kept saying that it wasn't the right time. Then, Garou got frustrated and he left. It didn't seem to have happened so well... Soon after he left, Garou released his first english album...

They didn't really talk about it and it wasn't clear though.

I've never heard anything of Garou's english stuff; so I'm assuming Rene was right. I think if you worked with Celine's manager's company, you would automatically anticipate acheiving the same heights in your career as her, when it will probably never happen! And Rene waited a while before letting Celine tour. He waited until she and the public were ready, and it sounds like Garou got impatient.

She had a pretty good career in the begining, her first album was really good, the second ok and now, we just haven't heard anything about her in like three years. I agree that it would be weird to work in those conditions. :yes: . Plus, Garou isn't the kind of person that's ready to put in effort and time to have something and René doesn't like people who don't want to work, so I think that also might have been a big part of their problem. It might have been the same thing with Marilou....

I suppose if you've been used to working with one of, if not, THE most hard working woman in the business for the last 30 years; it would be frustrating to work with somebody that didn't work to that standard. Celine makes a lot of people in music look very lazy, lol

Before Rene met Celine, he had managed the careers or Ginette Reno, and a young boy named Rene' Simard.

Ginette dumped Rene' at the top of her career because her boyfriend wanted to manage her; he did this just as Ginette was receiving all the awards and acclaims that Rene had managed her through. Rene had the work the boyfriend reaped the rewards.

As Ginette left Rene, Rene was going to get out of show business and go back to school to be a lawyer; when Celine's brother Michele called Rene's office to she if Rene had listened to Celine's demo tape that they sent him, Rene had said no. Michele told him that he should listen to it that his sister was only 13 and very talented. Rene listened, called Michele back and Celine and her mom went for an appointment with Rene the same afternoon. Rene decided to be Celine's manager (Celine already had a manager that was doing nothing) and dealt with her present manager. Rene guaranteed Mrs. Dion, that in 5 years time he would make Celine a star in Quebec. When Rene took on Celine, he never had any other clients. There was never a MaryLou. This is from Celine's and Rene's biographies. :blink:

Rene is not Veronica's manager. Veronica is an impersonator and does a very good impression of Celine. Veronica is managed by someone else. Rene' only manages Celine.

No Marilou was managed by Rene. She was the one who did this photoshoot with Celine.

Her career started in 2002 when she had her first single Je serai la pour toi in a duo with Canadian Gino Quilico who is the French version of the cover There For Me singing in the original version by Sarah Brightman in duet with José Cura and signed with the Sony label in 2004 before going on a tour opening for Garou.

In 2005, she released at the age of 15 her debut La fille qui chante in which one of the singles includes a duet with Garou. Also, René Angélil, who also manages Celine Dion became her manager. After several concerts and promotions Marilou played in Luc Plamondon's musical comedy Notre-Dame-de-Paris. She started her first own music tour in 2006 while continuing with her high school studies.

In 2007, her self-titled second album was released with the most notable song being Danser sur la lune which includes also a non-Canadian version duet with Merwan Rim. A European version of the album was also released a few months after the Canadian date release. Later in the year, she made her Tout simplement Marilou province wide tour.

No Marilou was managed by Rene. She was the one who did this photoshoot with Celine.

No, Feelings Productions that takes care (or taked, I dont know if she still there) of Marilou's carreer, they talked about Rene because he is president of the company and because the midia is good to use this king of information to the gossip.

Rene is not the only who manages artists in that company. There are other Rene's colaborators in Feeling Productions that manages (ed) the others artists (Garou, Marilou or Veronique, etc). Rene is only the boss.

Rene was and still is exclusive to Celine.

Other fans from Quebec can explain more about this.

There had been a story along with those pictures and it had said that Marilou was a relative (a niece) on Celine's side; I believe her last name was also Dion.

I apologize if anyone got upset over this.

I know the story. My point was that René likes to work with people who are also willing to work. We haven't heard anything about Marilou in such a long time that it seems as if people just forgot about her. Her sons are rarely on the radio. René has been playing a fairly important part in Véronic's career. He's been doing a lot but it's true, he's still very exclusive to Céline.

Thank you BelleCéline for the photoshoot with Marilou. I've been wondering for the longest time who the other girl was (I think it's a reflection of how much she's present here...).

Shes not relative on Celine's side....Her name is Marilou Bourdon.

It's not problem. Like Celinethebest 5 said, we're only chatting and I think it's fun to have discussions like this and see people's point of view. And it's true, I don't think anyone is upset over this. Don't worry about it. :thumbsup2:

Plus, her name is Marilou Bourdon so I highly doubt that there's a family connect. If there would be, I think we would have known by now.
