New Alanis: Remarkable effort!

Recommended Posts

At last she managed to escape from a rather generic approach to music presented on her two last albums (which were simply ok but nothing more). Now her new album came which will be released in two weeks in the States and this week in Europe.

All I can say is just WOW. Just WOW, and I thought already the first single was pretty damn good.

Go get it when it's out, lovelies. Vintage Alanis with a huge eclectic wall of sound on some songs and just piano on others.

Sounds good!

But in my mind nothing will ever compare to 'Jagged Little Pill' and 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie'!

You have to hear the whole CD and the bonus CD! It's a very much comparable record to "Supposed...". I think, really think Alanis delivered this time.

I hope this album will give her the huge comeback that she deserves! She's a league or two above Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne, no doubt about it! Edited by manuel morriso

I heard it and I have to say that I had the hardest time listening to an album ever. This was awful. I never was a fan of her but I was curious to see how this album will sound. Edited by Nikosn17

She definitely deserves this, especially with this album. But you can't really expect good music to sell nowadays.

Well then you haven't heard Sainkho then.

i am a fan. i own Jagged Little Pill, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, Unplugged, Under Rug Swept and Jagged Little Pill Acoustic. buying So-Called Chaos never crossed my mind after hearing the awful Everything and Eight Easy Steps. i don't know what to expect about this new album. after Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, everything went downhill for her. she should team up with the incredible Glenn Ballard again. they can do magic together. I thought her last two albums were pretty much underrated and didn't do well. I will definitely check this album out.

I can't wait to get this album!

I think her last 2 studio albums didn't get the attention they deserved, they had some great songs! :glare: I hope the limited edition is released here, cos it sounds cool! I will be seeing her in Amsterdam on June 13th! I'm really excited! :w00t: :w00t:

  the songs sound perfect in Unplugged than in SFIJ. and what's wrong with "perfect" in JLP? she's out of tune the whole song. :innocent:

has she ever recorded a duet?

I'm not an Alanis fan, but some of her songs were quite popular here, like "Ironic" and "thank U" (love that video....kinda creepy though)

I'm not quite convinced with her voice. Last time I heard something from her was when I went to see "Narnia" and she sang at the end (I think it was her)

My favorite Alanis albums are "Jagged Little Pill" and "Under Rug Swept". I didn't care too much for the other ones. The acoustic of "Jagged Little Pill" was better then I thought it would be. Can't wait to hear this album. http://smileyset.com/temp/PRINCESS/smile.gif

It's over 3 years since I last listened to Alanis and I don't know if I'll be able to connect with her songs again :ermm: But as my best friend if a big Alanis friend, I'll borrow his copy and see if I like it.. if yes, I'll buy it too (or get a free copy from the store :P )
