when you enter celinedion.com "My Love" the full song plays.......well actually just b/f you enter.........it used to be "Taking Chances" for the longest time.....is this a sign its the new single.

I Dont hope so, I agree that we need a new single....and "My Love" sung live is great but not as a single...some songs that we need are

 

-Fade Away

-Eyes On Me

-Cant Fight The Feelin'

-Shadow Of Love

i normally would think it was terrible but celines biggest hits are always the ones i have found the most boring and altho i liked my love i kinda felt like that about it. But it has grown on me loads!! and its quite nice and understated. The fact that its grown on me tho i think is largely down to how amazing it is live and learning the meaning of it for her. I dont know if that will translate immediately with the rec buying public. But yeh initially boring = massive hit for celine usually haha (ie....all by myself, because u loved me)

I agree with you Nmj, those 4 are fantastic and would make great singles. I don't think you can really appreciate My Love properly unless you're a fan and understand the meaning behind it, the others are a bit more mainstream.

I totally agree too! My Love is a great song but definitely not a good single choice.

there are a lot of potential hits from the album, but definitely not My Love. it's a great song, but not a good choice as a proper single imo

Noooo.

Its a fantastic song, but with the charts as they are at the moment, the next single should be something with a kicking beat like A Cause. Even in non-french speaking countries, I bet it would be a dancefloor hit.

i think my love would be a great choice.. i think the songs that have been released so far on the album have been the right one's

they just haven't got radio play. because dj's won't play it just because it's celine dion.

 

i know only 2 stations that play celine in ireland.. the rest would not..

 

but at this moment i think my love is the best choice for a single..

 

also for a soundtrack for a film i can imagine this time with I Got Nothin' Left" as B side single

 

for some really good drama film......

as if Alone had any impact, its as if it was never released anyway. and shadow of love SUCKS imo, i'd rather have ANY other song as the next single, why oh why couldn't they release Alone in December with the UK special video and This time in February with a proper video...pfff (or at least include it in the tv special and release a "live"video from there) :shrug:

Yeah I totally agree. I think Alone should have been out in December a month after they realised Taking Chances was not gonna be massive. Even if it didnt do well Alone would have kept begger momentum over Christmas and January.

 

This Time or Fade Away could have went to radio in February with a proper video.

 

My Love or I Got Nothin Left would have been nice for Spring - around now

 

Shadow of Love and Eyes on Me would have been a good choice for the Summer about August time (maybe depending on territory or double-a-side depending on success of previous singles)

I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........

My Love would do to TC what Goodbye's did for ANDHC. But considering the way the situation is now, it wouldn't do much difference, TC is dead.

 

If a ballad must be a single, I Got Nothing Left would be the only option, who knows promoted right and having Ne-Yo mentioned a couple of times, it might be a hit.

I'll be fine with My Love as a single. I want a video going along with it though. Something like Alanis Morissette's "head over feet" would work!

 

"Surprise" or "got nothin left" I'll be fine with as well.

I'm sorry - but Fade Away would be a desperate single. It sounds very 2004 - Kelly Clarkson style.

 

Shadow of Love is a better choice.

 

But with Taking Chances not doing well - and it being the best song on the album - I just don't know what to expect with ANY single, regardless of song choice.

 

As far as My Love - it is a wonderful live performance. And it should probably be left at that. But she SHOULD sing it live on future talk shows.

I don't feel Fade Away would be a desperate choice. It's still very fresh sounding.
