CellyDee87 Posted June 17, 2008 at 12:40 PM Posted June 17, 2008 at 12:40 PM Can't Fight The Feeling & Think Twice Bring this brilliant song back, one of the most upbeat from Taking Chances, it was amazing in Melbourne can't believe it does not have a permanent spot in the setlist! I adore this track And bring back Think Twice, it's not just the UK that loves this song. Hopefully they return when the tour arrives in the US. Quote
No1IrishFan Posted June 18, 2008 at 12:25 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 12:25 PM (edited) I counted on Wikipedia that so far we have heard roughly 45 french and english songs on the tour It also says she rehearsed 60 which means some songs will have to be moved around or removed completely if she wants to sing the remaining 15 before the tour is over Edited June 18, 2008 at 12:25 PM by crannyview Quote

celine4evauk Posted June 18, 2008 at 09:13 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 09:13 PM For me, i think she should always sing TTWII, TT,CFTF,TJTWIM,LCMM. Don't get your hopes up for TT in the US. It flopped over there, people preferred TPOL, so i'll be very surprised if its performed in the US. But you never know - maybe if enough people ask for it - perhaps via the CDIFC forum?? Maybe they'll add it for you. Quote
billyitaly86 Posted June 21, 2008 at 07:33 PM Posted June 21, 2008 at 07:33 PM honestly.... i'd ban my heart will go on.... in some way i believe it has ruined celine... now, i don't know what happens in the world, but in italy, in my city, milan, when she's going to sing, unless you say "celine dion, the titanic siger ", no one knows her, they think that she's sunk with it. and after all, to me, that's not such a beautiful song, i mean, it's not the best song she has ever recorded, and we can say it quite surely. it has ruined her because now people has the stereotype that celine always and only sings love songs or ballads...but among her hits undoubtfully there are great and powerful songs... (that's why i agree with IDAN as the first song of this tour)...it's a song to me old fashion. it is like if britney spears as well at 40 years old would keep on singing hit me baby one more time... it became boring....everyone expect her to sing that song... it would have a bigger effect if she wouldn't.... sorry for my english Quote
artistman2007 Posted June 21, 2008 at 07:44 PM Posted June 21, 2008 at 07:44 PM i think she must sing more songs from the new album she must make new hits for herself Quote

Every singer wants a signature song, that the whole world knows (whether they like the song or not). No matter who else records it in the future everyone knows the original. Celine has hers. Don't take it away from her. When i saw her show at the end after RDMH the people alongside me, and the people behind me were asking me if she was going to sing it. They were waiting for it. Quote
CelineFanInSoCal Posted June 27, 2008 at 02:49 AM Posted June 27, 2008 at 02:49 AM This is totally something that gets me all worked up. LOL I understand the need to sing the staple songs of ones career in concert, for those life long fans who expect to hear them. I would, however, at least like an updated sound to these numbers. She did it for the A New Day Has Come CBS TV Special, where she sang "Because You Loved Me", Beauty and the Beast", and "My Hear Will Go On" in a sort of an unplugged way. It was so refreshing... she sang them all live, they sounded different, or at least were not "the same old stuff". That being said, her staple songs could use this refresher, which could potentially allow her to actually sing them all live... you know the ones I'm talking about [iDAN, TPOL, IACBTMN, BYLM, TLYM, RDMH, MHWGO]. From reading other threads, these seem to be the numbers that get lipped the most. [i'm trying to be politically correct here. LOL] If she updated the sound, or changed the arrangements/production values a little, the songs would still be wonderful, bombastic and remind people why they like Celine, and it would bring a fresher sound to her show, which she desperately needs. We've been hearing the SAME "mego-inspired-pseudo-rock versions" since 1996 on some of these songs. On the other hand... she very well may also use the songs as a vocal break during long shows. That makes total sense to me. Back when she would not talk between shows to give herself some rest, she sang *almost* all the songs live. Now that she's Miss Family Gal, she's gonna talk more than ever, so she does the opposite and just doesn't sing all the songs that would create such a vocal stress on herself. I can see both sides of the argument. But, I would also think that giving some of the songs new arrangements, she wouldn't have to go nuts on them and feel like she has to sing at the top of her lungs. But remember when she sang TTWII during the Millennium show? It was a little lackluster, and she left out one of the longer held notes from the ending, and it sounded a little dumpy... Back to just plain out removing some songs: - I'm Your Angel needs to be banned forever and a day. - The Queen Homage could use some tweaking. Perhaps it's a kick for her to perform, but the vids I've seen don't really do the songs justice, and kinda bore the ending of the show.- Soul Medley... well maybe get rid of the Barnev stuff, but I am assuming it's also a break for her from the show, too... but there are more artistic ways of giving her a break. Remember the LTAL Tour when she actually sat down for the acoustic medley? - I do like the idea of her singing "I Want to Break Free" during the Queen medley... I think it would suit her voice big time.- Breaking up the show into segments is something that Jamie King has done for most of the artists' tours that he's produced. It's an interesting way to give the show more depth, interest and not feel like a 90 minute blah, where you forget certain things... it would be nice if Celine would step up to the artistic plate a little and work with the interesting stuff she's been given, and maybe, just maybe change a few things to help herself out and give the show some flavor. I can hear the conversation... Rene: "We're gonna use this tracklist: _______, ________, ________, _________, and finish with River Deep and My Heart Will Go On." Celine: "I'm gonna need some rest... let's just lip to a few, eh?" But it could be something like: Celine: "Hech No! We're gonna need to give them some new sounds then... I am tired of singing TPOL the same way since 1995. The others could use a breath of fresh air. Get Mego on the phone... let's talk new sounds on those old ones. They are fan favorites, but I need some inspiration to keep singing them..." Rene: "Done. I'm calling Mego now." Quote
CélineSourit Posted June 27, 2008 at 05:01 AM Posted June 27, 2008 at 05:01 AM First of all, I would throw out the Queen Medley and the Soul Medley. Instead of those she can sing more songs from her latest album (Taking Chances for the English speaking countries, and D'elles for the French speaking countries). In that way she doesn't have to sacrifice her own songs. Among the audience are also people who are attending the concert only to hear her sing her songs, not hits by other artists. That brings me to the next point...Secondly, to avoid lipping (I still can't believe it, but it's possible) the hits TPOL, BYLM, IACBTMN, TLYM, should be tweaked a little. I personally think that it's not easy to change something that is already perfect, that's the downside of perfection, it could get bored at times. Does anyone know whether she lips during singing french songs, such as Destin, Ziggy, JSP, SSD, PQTME)?Next, she has performed 45 of the 60 songs she has rehearsed. So there is a big possibility that she will sing other songs. The tour hasn't finished yet. It will take a while.Subsequently, songs that I would love to be added to the set list the following songs: WDMHBN, OOR, IWYTNM for the anglophone set list, and for the francophone set list CNQR, DMQS, OSAAC.Finally, TT should be added back to the set list, and should never be removed from it. Celinefanatic07 Posted June 27, 2008 at 05:58 AM Posted June 27, 2008 at 05:58 AM I would never in a million years remove (or bann ) her beautiful classics! . I think that the Soul part and the Queen medley is really cool! I mean c'mon people, by doing these she's "Taking Chances" and going out of the ballad zone, and doing something different. Anyways I would add songs to the tour. scorp82 Posted June 30, 2008 at 03:43 AM Posted June 30, 2008 at 03:43 AM As far as the Queen tribute is concerned, I actually enjoy The Show Must Go On. However, I think she should omit We Will Rock You. I also think that I'm Your Angel should probably be removed from the set list. Although I like A New Day Has Come and That's The Way It is, I do not object to The Prayer being performed in lieu of the other two songs. I don't know if Celine has shorter time limits for concerts in Europe than in South Africa, Asia, and Australia, but I think that Can't Fight the Feelin' and That's The Just the Woman in Me should be part of the set list more often. I also think that Think Twice should definitely be performed in the U.S.! As far as making amendments to the arrangements of songs considered to be Celine staples (BYLM, TLYM, IACBTMN, TPOL, MHWGO etc). I really don't know what changes could be made. I would recommend to make some changes to the musical arrangements, but the vocals should not be changed. As someone already mentioned, those songs already border perfection, so major changes need not be made. Though I could understand why some people would want to see some of Celine's "staples" removed from her set list, we all know they will always be performed at a Celine Dion concert, even if she tours 20 years from now. In Frankfurt, even Celine made a comment regarding TPOL. Celine said something along the lines that it was a song that everyone could relate to and could be passed from generation to generation. Celine's classic songs made her known for who she is today. Quote

CelionDion Posted July 2, 2008 at 12:43 AM Posted July 2, 2008 at 12:43 AM I would love her to perform a song from Unison and a song or two from the eighties Where Does My Heart Beat Now or If there was Any Other Way would be nice...and La Voix Du Bon Dieu or Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi The Power Of Love needs to go...I understand that it was a #1 hit in the US but she could perform another big hit like ''That's The Way It Is'' instead.
