I know there's a topic about the 13th, but I wanted to make a topic about the entire thing :).

Who's going on any of the days?

I'm going on ALL THREE (and yes I know that costs a LOT of money :D). But I thought, come on, she probably won't come for another 3 years or smtn, so if I save a bit, I can afford it :).

Which hotel will she be staying in? I'm dying to get a picture of her (or with her :D) when she gets to the hotel or something.

I hope the sound is okay because lately I think the sound in the Sportpaleis is not that great :). And I hope she'll find a good balance between English and French songs...

Just start a new topic ;)

I'm going on May 14 to the show. And indeed, it's rather expensive but hey, for every world star you pay as much as the concert of Céline.

I've asked some people about the hotel but I haven't got any confirmation yet. PSE (Sportpaleis) works mostly with the Park Plaza Hotel in Antwerp. But it could also be the Raddisson SAS or even a hotel in Brussels... Or maybe she's a guest at Dragone's place in La Louviere?

Next week it should become clear ;)

The sound in Sportpaleis Antwerp is rather good compared with a few years back. At this moment the sound is good, but ofcourse not exceptional. Only in smaller places like Vorst National in Brussels (with only room for a couple of thousands) you will get splendid sound. But overall, the Antwerp Sportpaleis aint that bad ;)

And yes, hopefully the show will have an excellent balance between English and French...

Meanwhile the topic has been split I see

OOOh why can't Céline go to the Golden Tullip?? It has been recently build (or renovated) I'm sure she can have a great room there... or she could share mine :whistling:

Oh god, I hope she won't go to brussels would she??!! Do you think it will be crowed at her hotel?? I'm dying to get a picture with her too

I've been to Cher in Sportpaleis and that was in 2004, I didnt think the sound was that bad... I've been to Lara in Vorst Nationaal and the sound there is really good.. ;)

I'm going the 13th and 14th

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Posted (edited)

It's not that the sound is bad, but for example last concert I saw (last month) it was often too loud, or the backing vocals were too soft etc. But I bet the technicians Celine will bring will take care of those things :).

If anyone knows the hotel, please share it, since it would be so much fun to actually ask for an autograph and a picture. Plus a friend of mine wanted to buy her Belgian chocolates :).

I know for sure she won't sign or anything at the Sportpaleis itself, because (I think) the VIP entrance is right next to one of the parking lots.

OH and by the way! I still have an extra ticket for Wednesday, the second rank (128,50 euro) but I'll sell it for a reasonable price (which we can decide on) if anyone wants to go. It will include being close to me, and I have to warn everyone I get pretty freaky when I see Celine :).

I'm going on 14th and 16th and simply can't wait!! In just ONE WEEK I'll be already there in Antwerpen!!! :D

It's only about 3 hours drive from the place where I live but I've never been there before.

Any idea if Antwepen is a big city and if it has big traffic??

We think about leaving our car at the hostel and use common transport there, I hope we won't get lost, haha! :)

Aww, would be great to know the hotel, altohough I doubt I could go there... I'm not able to stand big crowds and pushing and I can imagine there will be loads of people waiting at the hotel - same like what we can see each time for Paris... :S

It's kind of a big city, but it has good public transport.

You can leave your car and take the tram or bus, they have seperate stops there. It's free by the way if you show your tickets.

But you can easily reach it by car as well if you are worried about being too late or something. Police is always there before/after a concert to guide traffic so I've rarely seen more than a 10 min wait.

Thank you for info. So there is the same policy like in Germany about free transport nn the show day when you show the event ticket? Is it valid the entire day or only during some specific times?

And what about the hotels you named before? (Plaza, Raddison...) - are they close to Sportpaleis or do you neet to drive there or take a tram?

I will be there the 14th and the 16th. Can't wait  :kicking:

Does anyone know if there is also a public soundcheck and how do you get tickets for this ?

And I thought that she once said before the tour began, that while playing in Europe she would be staying the entire time in Paris, so she could be stabile for a while. So this isn't true?

I don't think you need to worry about the sound... Celine won't go on stage until the sound is perfect and she has a wonderful team and the best equipment to make this happen.

See you all over there :bye1:

Belgium did feature a public soundcheck on the 16th of May but it's sold out, however in The Netherlands and some other countries you could buy a package including a soundcheck. Common fee for such deals are arround 700 EUR. For Amsterdam such tickets are still available.

The use of public transport (tram & bus) is included in the ticket. This is only valid from and to the Sportpaleis and cannot be used to travel arround the city.

I need to search the addresses but i'm affraid that it aint possible to visit them by foot. Maybe with public transport... I will check it later (troubles with laptop at this moment :()

The best way to travel is by public transport. Parkings aren't free in the near area of the Sportpaleis and the polics likes to write tickets for those who aren't parked in the parkings. When it's crowded (mostly at a big concert) you will have to walk a while to get your car.

I'm driving to the left side of Antwerp (Linkeroever) and leave my care parked overthere. Then I take the tram to the Sportpaleis. It's free and plenty of space on the parkings there ;) You only need to travel a bit by tram.

As far as I know, the doors itself are open as from 18.00 or earlier, but that's only the outside doors so you can eat/drink something inside. The venue doors itself open 1 hour, 1,5 hour in advance (max!). Edited by Troj

Until a year or 2 ago you needed to pay a small fee to use the bus or the tram to the Sportpaleis. But you could imagine that few people actually paid during heavy traffic. Now the fee is included in the tickets so you can use the transport for "free" (included in the price).

We are always visiting the Night of the Proms with a group of 50 firefighters and we leave our bus always on Antwerp Linkeroever were we take the tram. In the 10 years we are doing this we have paid only a couple of times for the group  When there's a bunch of people they weren't checking the tickets so we drove for free... And we were not the only ones doing this ;) You could imagine that the public transport lost a huge amount of money during concerts ;)

So I like the new deal... It's only a small fee and you don't have to worry about getting checked for a ticket ;)

What about the metro for Sportpaleis? line red 12? i found out it:

En train

Si vous venez en train, veuillez bien vérifier les horaires pour savoir s’il y aura un train retour. A l’Astridplein, près du gare central d’Anvers, vous pouvez prendre un bus ou un tram vers le Sportpaleis ou la Lotto Arena. Tout déplacement A/R vers le Sportpaleis et la Lotto Arena avec les véhicules de la compagnie De Lijn est gratuit avec votre ticket d’entrée.

That's not the metro, it's the tram (which sometimes is called "premetro" as well).

Same thing though, only a bit slower, but you get to see the city :).

By the way, if you get lost, ask someone, in my opinion everyone is happy to help if they see you're just in town for a concert and are on the verge of a nervous breakdown!

i went to the sportpaleis last night to see kylie and the sound was pretty good.

i was able to park my car right next to the venue and it was for free. there was nobody there to check or anything. leaving the parking was very easy. no queues whatsoever.
