Celine Dion postponed
new dates scheduled
28th March 2008

Due to illness Celine will not be able to perform at her Sydney concert tonight Fri 28th March or tomorrow Sat 29th March.

These dates have been re-scheduled
New Dates: Acer Arena

Friday 28th March rescheduled to Saturday April 5th.

Saturday 29th March rescheduled to Sunday April 6th.

All tickets purchased for the original dates in Sydney are valid for the same seats on the new performance dates without a need for exchange.

Ticket holders who are unable to attend the rescheduled date may obtain a refund from Ticketek

I know..............the fans have to be able to come to the new dates...in case they cancel one of the shows...........please don't...I will be devesated!

I was afraid that Celine would still be ill. I hope she gets better soon!

I also hope all the fans will understand that she is not able to perform! May all the fans be able to attend the new dates!

It looks like thus far the performance in Perth on April 4 has not been affected.

OMG!!!... I'm still up in this late hour (it's 3 a.m. here) but I wanted to take one more look at the forum before going to sleep, was too curious about the news from Australia...

I'm sooooooooo worried about Céline!!!! And about all those devastated, frustrated fans over there, on the other side of the globe.... I wish you all the strenght to get through it, to manage resheduling your flights, hotels etc. and to be able to celebrate amazing shows with Céline after her birthday!!!

My thoughts are with all of you!!!!

I'm not all that worried, since they still seem to think she'll be better by Monday and they said it was a "minor" infection when they first started postponing stuff.

Plus, in Vegas she performed more than 4 days in a row, so we know she can do it.

I dunno, maybe I'm too mad to be worried. Not mad at Celine, just mad at life. I have my reasons. I do understand that she can't help it, and I really appreciate that she's postponing and not cancelling. If she cancelled totally and never came back, then I would be MAD.

Aw well...I hope everyone travelling is gonna be ok with changing flights and accommodation and stuff. *Sending hugs.* Oook I'm gonna go now and try to figure out something fun to do tonight.

Oh and another annoying thing- why is her offical website not up to date about this?? The venue's website and ticketek is even more up to date!!!

The schedule is so tight because there's no room for any more reschedule. If she's still sick after March 31. She has to cancel some dates. She's supposed to be in Malaysia on April 8th. And Shanghai, China on April 11th. I hope this won't affect the China dates.

I'm so dissapointed, especially since this was to be my best birthday EVER (my birthday is on Sunday).

I know it's not her fault that she's sick and I will do whatever it takes to get to next weekends performance, it means rearranging a few other plans but I'd be gutted if I missed seeing Celine altogether. This is likely to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me....I don't have the money to go flying across the country or overseas to see her.

Well, I hope Celine rests this weekend! She only has a few days to truly get better because the next two weeks will be intense for her! If she is feeling better, the Brisbane concert on March 31 and Melbourne concert on April 2 should be no problem for her. The problem may be when on April 3 she flies for about 5 hours to Perth and then she performs in Perth on April 4. Then, either on the evening of April 4 or early morning of April 5, she will have to fly 5 hours to Sydney... Remember that she will now perform in Sydney on April 5 and April 6. On April 7, she will have to fly for about 8 hours so she can arrive in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Kuala Lumpur concert will be on April 8.

So, the next two weeks or so will be heavy duty for Celine!

This is truly a shame considering that Celine had a break of one week between the Korea and Australia concerts and there were days off scheduled in between as well.

Could anyone imagine if she had decided to include New Zealand in her tour? Then things would be even more so disarrayed!

im really worried now because things are so tight now and if she dosent get better they will be canceled...the most important thing is for her to get better but i will be so upset if melbourne is cancelled not that its her fault. :cry:

OK, postponing three shows, of which there's a 1 full day gap in between (Brisbane and Sydney) is not as "minor" as it is written out to be. Sounds much more serious than just an "minor" throat infection. I'm worried for her, poor Céline. I mean, for us, we'd like to get sick to play truant at school or skip work (just to rest) but for her, being sick is probably more stressful for her because she WANTS to perform, she WANTS to do it for her fans and she KNOWS that her fans are counting on her.

I feel bad for her and the Aussie fans, at the moment. I hope she feels better soon. :down:

And in my human-ness, I'm also worried for our KL concert AND the Shanghai concert. Sigh.... :confused:

Since arriving in Australia Celine has been suffering from a respiratory tract infection which has caused bronchial and laryngeal inflammation.

As the illness has not fully responded to treatment with appropriate antibiotics, inhaled therapy and rest, earlier today Celine was examined by a prominent Sydney respiratory specialist who has advised that with a further 48 hours of treatment and rest she will make a complete recovery and can resume performing at her best.
Accordingly it will be necessary to reschedule both Sydney performances.

Saturday 29th March rescheduled to Sunday April 6th.

My best friend (superstarleash) Alicia went to Sydney earlier this morning before we knew of this news!

I rang her and had to tell her of this sad news that both the concerts for Sydney had been postponed, so now she has to stay up there and go from Melbourne to Sydney again the following weekend. :cry: :cry:

I am over here in Sydney for no reason now. I wish I had known before I had gotten on that plane. However it wouldn't have made much difference. The cancellation fees are too high. It worked out that it would prove more expensive to have come straight home than to have stayed for the full weekend. I would have had to lose flight money and one night of accommodation in its entirity.

I am very very very upset. I can't afford to come back here (nor take time off work) but I am going to do it for Celine. I am praying with everything I have that she will be ok for the shows.
