Thecolourofmylove Posted March 27, 2008 at 08:23 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 08:23 PM (edited) Mywife spent last night in tears. For years she had been looking forward to seeing Celine in concert. So last Xmas she bought a $400 ticket. She flew from Townsville to Brisbane for the concert only to find out just hours before that it wasn't going ahead. WHAT!! She is still in shock. But to make matters worse when we finally got in contact with Michael Coppel Presents, they didn't care, thats just life. My wife can't afford to fly home and come back 5 days later. Her dream washed away, talk about taking chances, buying a ticket to Celine is all about taking chances. Celine bought diamonds for her dances because they weren't put in 5 start hotels, what has she done for her fans which have travelled for days and spent thousands from around Queensland. Nothing. I feel sorry she is sick and we can't prevent that, but due compensation should be made if a promise is broken!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think my wife will listen to Celine for years, because she will just cry. It is very disappointing and I don't think even the caring Celine realise how heartbroken her fans from regional Queensland are I'm very sorry for your wife, however, thats what you get when you buy concert tickets. You take the chance that the artist may fall ill and postpone, pull an Amy and pass out on stage in a puddle of her own urine, or suck hard as apparantly Kelly Clarkson did last night. Buy your wife some flowers and send a NICE letter to Celine's management. You might even get an apology letter from Celine.. it has happened before! Celine is human, not a robot. This is not the last time a show will be cancelled or postponed. Shamrock_1982 Posted March 27, 2008 at 08:35 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 08:35 PM Unfortunately there isn't.. I know this probably won't be comforting, but it was even worse when she was still performing in Vegas. There people from all over the world came to see her. And those shows weren't rescheduled.. these are...and still in your own country. I would try to get my money back and spend it another ticket or for Sydney or something. There's always a way.... Good luck! Exactly....i agree with cscfan!! I understand you and ur wives dissapointment, but shes still human afterall, celine only cancels if he really has to, and even then she feels really really bad....but shes rescheduling, so you are lucky really!Fans on this board have flown from over the world to vegas to see celine ands shes cancelled due to her health, including myself, its sooo dissapointing, but you get over it, its life!!she was to come to belfast for the 1st time in 99 (was to be my 1st time seeing her) and cancelled because of renes health, and never rescheduled, but i seen her years later in vegas....what i'm trying to say is that you always get another chance, and shes rescheduled, so this is ur wives second chance, try work something out!! darren. Dionesque Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:03 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:03 PM Yeah, CSCFan is absolutely right... A friend of mine traveled all the way to Vegas from Hungary and he had tickets for 2 shows and when he was already there, he get to know that these shows were cancelled... He hoped to see another show before he had to leave Vegas but it was exactely the whole time when he was there that the shows were cancelled... If I'm right, he got his money back at the box office for the tickets but of course noone refunded him the most expansive flight from Hungary to Vegas... I also think it must be easier to get refund or stuff reorganized if the show is in our own country. And please, don't blame Céline for that! Of course she's not saint, she's the human like everyone else but she's also not a goddess to control things like illnesses and stuff! (even if some people sometimes think so, hehe) Get your feet back on the ground! I'm really sorry for your loss about cancelled (or better said: resheduled) concert but it's not the end of the world! And I'm sure noone else but Céline feels the most sorry about this situation, that's for sure! But health is the most important thing!! I Surrender Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:20 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:20 PM I can understand your wife is very upset right now. I would be too. But blaming Celine isnt right. I am sure she is gutted about cancelling. Unfortunately these things happen and I'm sorry it has happened to your wife. I am sure she will get another chance to see her some day. Dionesque Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:26 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 09:26 PM And it's impossible for her to do a material refund to all her fans wanted to join that concert - that's ridiculous!... Of course she has quite some money but she works hard to get them, remember... And so do the dancers who got those pricy gifts from her. It is very disappointing and I don't think even the caring Celine realise how heartbroken her fans from regional Queensland are What has she done for her fans? Oh I don't know... She's only performed over 700 times in Vegas, launched two all-new material albums in the same year, launched a year-long world tour reaching 5 continents and over 100 cities... Hmmm, yeah... I don't know what she's done for her fans. I'm sorry that your wife is going through that dilemma... But again, you can't blame Celine. It's not like she has a radar and knows who's coming from where, and when. And she obviously doesn't enjoy the fact that she has fallen ill, but health is the most important thing. And honestly, would you rather Celine be sick and perform (perhaps badly) while feeling like crap, or would you rather her be healthy and perform feeling like a million bucks and giving the best show ever? Just loosen up a little. Everyone has been through things like that, and it's part of life. There are such things as second chances. You just need to know when and where is the right time to take that second chance. Celine's giving the best of her abilities. She is travelling the world to as many countries as she can in the span of a year, and all for what? For her fans. You should feel greatful.
