Brisbane show postponed to March 31 due to illness

CANADIAN diva Celine Dion has cancelled tonight's Brisbane concert due to illness.

 

The concert will now be performed on Monday, March 31 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Celine is being treated with antibiotics for a minor throat infection and irritated sinuses that she has been suffering from for a number of days since arriving in Australia, her magament says.

 

Accordingly her doctor has instructed her to rest for an additional 48 hours in order to be fully recovered.

 

"I've been looking forward to doing this show in Brisbane for so long... I'm really sorry to disappoint my fans tonight... I can't wait to see them on the 31st", Celine said.

I can fully understand why she would get ill. From the cold weather of Korea to hot weather in Australia in one day, anyone could get ill. Hope she will recover soon.

Poor Celine I hope she gets better....a couple of good days resting up will see her better in no time! It is so good she is performing on Monday instead....when I was in Vegas she got sick and couldn't put on another show to make up for it. All you guys in Sydney wil have to tell us how the show is seeing as you will see it first now!

Cause they hope she can get well soon and be able to do the concert tonight. It happens on A New Day too. You won't know how long it takes for her to recover, the cancellation may extend again.

Melbourne is also postponed for one day, the Melbourne concert will be on April 2nd now, because she needs 1 day to travel to Melbourne!

 

I hope she will recover soon from this illness, which I think was triggered by her allergies (it's late summer/early autumn in Australia, I think there is many pollen/ fine dust in the Australian air now....), she is taking the antibiotics to prevent her from getting a worser bacterial infection.

 

I think she will be flying to Sydney now, I'm in doubt that her Today Show-performance will go on now, it's better for her to rest until the 1st Sydney concert.

 

And she will give her 40th birthday party in Brisbane in stead of Sydney because she has te be there monday for the postponed concert!

 

I think that Céline's illness is also the reason that we have NO Aussie pictures until now, she doesn't want to be photographed when ill!

 

She hides her illnesses because she doesn't want us to worry about her!

 

Céline, I wish you a speedy recovery!!!!

Well the channel 10 news just had a brief strory and they showed footage of her leaving her Gold Coast hotel with Rene, her mother and other members of her family/entourage. She had a medical mask over her face, didn't look to good.....

The first show in Sydney this coming Friday is still on so that's a good sign. Hopefully she won't spend her birthday being sick.

I am still going to the Brisbane, (first) Sydney and Melbourne shows but after re-arranging all my flights it has cost me another $300!!! If she cancels or changes any other shows I just don't know what I'm going to do. I consider myself a lucky one because I have those options, but for the fans travelling from Cairns, West Queensland and Northern NSW finding and paying for accomodation for and extra 5 days and taking that extra time off work is not an option and they will have no choice but to miss out altogether. I feel so bad for them and my sincere condolences go out to them. I know Celine is sick, what can you do?? Australia is such a big and S P R E A D- O U T country people will literally be travelling 1000km for this concert, tradgic.

I know, I feel so bad for everyone, and at the same time worried about Celine, and what will happen with the other shows.

Well, at least nobody has mentioned cancelling altogether, and the articles said it's a "minor" illness. I dunno. I'm halfway between trying to stay positive and preparing for the worst.

I just wanna hug everyone...and there's nobody here to hug me, except my ridiculous cockatiel.

OMG... i heard today and freaked out... two reasons... NOOOO celine is sick and i dont wanna miss the op to see Celine in concert.

 

I am sure she will get better, Kelly Clarkson had a simialr thing happen to her when she got to Europe this year... 2 days adn she was better then ever... yes i am being very optimistic... lol

Dion postpones opening Aussie show

 

.....The superstar songstress has reportedly been splashing out on a lavish but discreet Gold Coast holiday, spending more than $11,000 on a dinner over Easter.

The French-Canadian, her family and 30-plus entourage flew into Australia last Thursday and are believed to be visiting the Coast for a short holiday before the Australian leg of her world Taking Chances tour began.

 

Sources say Ms Dion has settled into the Coast's holiday atmosphere, treating her family and entourage to the dinner at her hotel's restaurant for her mother's 81st birthday, including five bottles of Dom Perignon champagne at $350 a pop.

 

Her arrival was not as smooth, with entertainment insiders reporting the diva allegedly made waves on her arrival when she cancelled a booking at a luxury hotel and moved to another, complaining about her room and the service.....
