Poor baby, her allergies act up again.... Well, guess what. I have the exact same thing right now, just been to the doctor yesterday and I'm antibiotics too. Kindda funny when I read she was down with it too. Only this is the first time for me, never had problems like that... I can imagine how awful trying to sing must be in this situation, it's hard to talk even and the sound is... well, isn't....

MOVE over Michael Jackson, there's a new germ-crazed diva in the house.

 

Celine Dion brought back memories of the SARS days on the Gold Coast yesterday, appearing in a medical mask when leaving her luxury hotel with husband Rene Angelil and son Rene-Charles.

 

The French-Canadian warbler has angered fans by postponing her Brisbane concert, due to a throat infection and "irritated sinuses".

 

But Sydneysiders counting down to hearing My Heart Will Go On need not fear - Ms Dion will plough ahead with her Acer Arena concerts tomorrow and Saturday.

 

What a relief.

 

Here's hoping she's got some air left in those lungs - she's got 40 candles to blow out for her birthday on Sunday.

Celine Dion Tour Dates Rescheduled

March 26 , 2008

 

Due to illness Celine will not be able to perform at her Brisbane concert

 

The concert will now be performed on Monday, March 31 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

 

Celine is being treated with antibiotics for a minor throat infection and irritated sinuses that she has been suffering from for a number of days since arriving in Australia.

 

Accordingly her doctor has instructed her to rest for an additional 48 hours in order to be fully recovered.

 

"I've been looking forward to doing this show in Brisbane for so long... I'm really sorry to disappoint my fans tonight... I can't wait to see them on the 31st", Celine said earlier today.

 

Sydney and Perth concert dates remain unchanged.

 

However in order to permit the rescheduling of the Brisbane concert the Melbourne performance at Rod Laver Arena will now take place:

 

Wednesday 2 April MELBOURNE ROD LAVER ARENA

 

As a consequence Celine's Australian tour itinerary becomes:

 

SYDNEY, ACER ARENA FRIDAY MARCH 28

SYDNEY, ACER ARENA SATURDAY MARCH 29

BRISBANE, ENT. CENTRE MONDAY MARCH 31 (was Wed March 26)

MELBOURNE, ROD LAVER ARENA WEDNESDAY APRIL 2 (was Tues April 1)

PERTH, MEMBERS EQUITY STADIUM FRIDAY APRIL 4

 

All tickets purchased for the original dates in Brisbane and Melbourne are valid for the same seats on the new performance dates without a need for exchange.

 

TeamCeline members who purchased TeamCeline tickets and wish to obtain a refund will be contacted with details on how to do so shortly. General ticket holders who are unable to attend the rescheduled dates may obtain a refund from the point of purchase, upon presentation of their tickets.

 

NOTE: To secure a refund in Brisbane all requests should be submitted not later than Friday, March 28 and ONLY to:

Well we knew she would get sick eventually the way she is hopping all over. Hopefully the doctors start her on something to keep her from getting sick.

I wonder what time she arrives in Sydney ... I hope she stays at the Park Hyatt overlooking the Opera House.

I'm like Bellamy here, I'm quite nervous for Celine. At the " A new day" DVD. I have the though that Celine can do anything for us. (Fans) Because with all those night she sing. And even TCH Tour I kinda feel scared with all her tight schedules.

 

The same with Darren and everyone of us I hope Celine will receive the birthday video for her at least feels fine.

I love her even more for not putting the show back to something like... OCTOBER, or something, you know? As other artists have done in the past. I love that fans only have to wait a few more days.

 

Does anyone know what this means for the Sydney shows? 28th+29th? I'm going to the 29th... what I've heard so far is that they're still going ahead as planned, but I don't know anything official yet.

Yeah, I read this, this morning on Team Celine...too bad for the Aussie fans, but at least she's still doing the performances and not just skipping them like they had to do in Vegas!

Mywife spent last night in tears. For years she had been looking forward to seeing Celine in concert. So last Xmas she bought a $400 ticket. She flew from Townsville to Brisbane for the concert only to find out just hours before that it wasn't going ahead. WHAT!! She is still in shock. But to make matters worse when we finally got in contact with Michael Coppel Presents, they didn't care, thats just life. My wife can't afford to fly home and come back 5 days later. Her dream washed away, talk about taking chances, buying a ticket to Celine is all about taking chances. Celine bought diamonds for her dances because they weren't put in 5 start hotels, what has she done for her fans which have travelled for days and spent thousands from around Queensland. Nothing. I feel sorry she is sick and we can't prevent that, but due compensation should be made if a promise is broken!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think my wife will listen to Celine for years, because she will just cry. It is very disappointing and I don't think even the caring Celine realise how heartbroken her fans from regional Queensland are

first of all, its not her fault she fell sick. how you do expect her to compensate thousands of fans that were going for the Brisbane concert? she does realise her fans are heartbroken. what do you expect her to do? hug each and everyone of the fans? im sorry your wife is sad that she wont be able to see Celine in Brisbane but not listening to Celine just because of this just doesnt make sense

I can understand how upsetting it is that she won't get to see Celine; all though it it were me, I would pay the money and go again. There is still nothing that Celine can do to bring back the money that people spent to travel to Brisbane to see the concert...I think we should be thankful that she actually didn't just cancel the Australian leg of her tour, like Christina Aguilera did when she found out she was pregant >.<

I'm so sorry for you and your wife. I know she must be really disappointed but Celine didn't choose to be sick. I know that she and her doctors did everything they could to prevent this. Everyone and ESPECIALLY Celine wants to do the concert, she knows her fans are heartbroken. I'm sure that the concert in Brisbane will be special and she does everything she can to make it up to the fans.

Aww I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's situation. I can imagine how she must feel. Even though it isn't Celine's fault that she got sick, I understand the pain and frustration a person would feel towards her in this situation. However, what is it that you expect her to do? I'm pretty sure you can get a refund for the ticket, but it'd be unrealistic for her to refund the travel expenses of all the fans put out by this.

Out of curiosity, what did the Michael Coppel people say to you?

I wonder if there is special concert travel insurance available that would cover situations like this? With people flying all over the world to see shows that depend on one person not being sick, it just makes sense.

 

This is definitely something you should look into if you're planning on traveling to see Celine.

 

I'm still not quite back to normal after getting sick in Mexico a month ago. I was totally out of commission for two full weeks. I sure hope that Celine's recovery goes much quicker than that, and I really feel for anyone who was bitten by this cancellation.

I know this probably won't be comforting, but it was even worse when she was still performing in Vegas. There people from all over the world came to see her. And those shows weren't rescheduled.. these are...and still in your own country. I would try to get my money back and spend it another ticket or for Sydney or something. There's always a way....
