I don't know how popular she is outside of the U.S., but she's huge here. She's a country singer who won American Idol season 4, and has become one of the most successful winners from that show. Not only is she stunning beautiful inside AND out, but this girl can sing. Any fan of Celine's would probably REALLY appreciate her music. I was not a huge fan of Carrie's when she was a contestant on AI, and did not enjoy her debut album a lot. Though I liked "Jesus, Take The Wheel," I did not care much for the follow-up singles. Then came "So Small" from "Carnival Ride" and I did not pay a lot of attention to it, until I saw the video and listened closely to the lyrics. It's been one of my favorite songs this year, and her performance of it at the CMA's really blew me away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_97ge3lMcdg Now I really like the follow-up "All-American Girl." She's very talented and totally deserves all of her number 1 singles on the Country charts. It's also very interesting that she's the only female act in this week's Top 10 Country songs on Billboard magazine, and she's sitting in at number 1. Quote

Carrie Underwood is my favorite American Idol of all time. i'm not a fan during her AI days, until her debut album Some Hearts came out. man this is one of the best debut album ever came out! Inside Your Heaven failed to amaze me the way Before He Cheats did. now i am a huge fan (i hope it doesn't make anyone crazy, i have a lot of fave artists!). Some Hearts deserves a diamond record. when Carnival Ride came out, in a heartbeat, i bought it and play the album almost everyday. i enjoy CR, but Some Hearts is still far better than her sophomore effort. I Told You So is one of the highlights of CR. i just thought of sharing my cds of her, check it out!(sorry, another crappy webcam pic ) Quote

To compare anything to her debut album....even Celine's "Taking Chances" is not a a fair fight. Carrie Underwood's album is a masterpiece. I mean...that album is sooooo good. I'm not a huge country music fan, I mean...I think it's kinda good, but that's the extent of my country music fandom...but Carrie Underwood is just amazing. Her voice is so pure...just like Celine's.
