To stand or to sit?

Standing on the ground is one thing, but standing on chairs is just plain obnoxious

 

Maybe I didnt say this in my previous post, but we were kind of standing at an angle, looking at the stage. So there wasnt really people behind me, more like next to me. I know how long I had waited for this day so I would never purposely sour the occasion for someone else, but they couldnt expect me to sit down the entire time, I mean come on! Plus, I had to be able to see Celine, if for no other reason than to confirm to my brain that it was really her on stage right in front of me, cause I really couldnt believe it!

It is still very very surreal, every now and again I ask myself if I really saw Celine.....and then I go: Oh yeah I did!!!!!!!!!

 

Thats's one big tick of my list for 'things to do before I die' Actually it was Number one.....

Personally I think that every theater around the world should be equipped with automatic retracting seats. When an uptempo number starts the seat shoves the person up to stand then drops below the floor. Problem solved.

How can one fully experience a concert like this when they're sitting down like at a movie? Shakira and Boney M (Liz Mitchell of the original band) came to Romania in concert, both artists with up-tempo songs, and most of the people were sitting down. I don't get it ! Concerts like these shouldn't have seats on the field (I think they're called pits) and if people want seats, well then get tickets for the upper parts of the arena.

 

I wanna jump up the second Celine gets on stage and never sit down until the end of the show!

I totally agree with you..I was twice in Vegas and I was sit down, but now I want to stand, the entire show if I can and I will do, I'm sorry for people behind me but they will have to stand too

I think it's lame if people sit during the whole concert. it makes it really hard for the artist to get a feedback from people. I think it's ok to take a break and sit during the ballads, but you gotta be on your feet dancing on the up-beat songs. Who can sit when she sings River Deep, Mountain High? You gotta be deaf or dead!

I had front row seats for the Shania concert and during all the up-beat songs people were standing. I think it's a good idea to have seats up to the stage but it shouldn't be a requirement for people to sit all the time. That just kills off the fun and the atmosphere.

 

 

Totally agree. It's good to sit for the ballads, but if it's upbeat, everyone should be up! I don't think that if seats are given you need to stand for the whole show, but for the faster songs its good to be up and dancing. Whereas the ballads, it's just good to sit and focus on listening to Celine's amazing voice!

 

P.S. Retracting seats is a GREAT idea!

I prefer standing up through the whole show, especially Taking Chances Tour concert is very upbeat. This is a pop music concert, not classical music concert. I think it's much better to stand up and dance with Celine!

I'm pretty sure, and y'all will agree with me, that Celine JUST LOVES TO SEE US singing and dancing along with her!!! And... How do the people dress in a Celine's concert? Isn't normal a guy with dreadlocks and a hippie clothes in a Celine's concert, right?

Hey, I've been watching all the Tc tour clips on YoUTUBE and the crowd really seem to be standing up and screaming and shouting when Celine first comes on and during songs when she's really belting it out *YEY*. The thing that worries me is...the U.K audience never seems to do this..we're all quite reserved and sometimes barely even clap and I end up feeling so embarassed (if anyone went to see her at Don Valley stadium in 99, you'll know what i mean)

So I think we all need to make a pact, all us UK'ns and especially those seeing her at the O2 need to really make some noise and get up off out seats!! any of you out there that's a bit nervous to do that, I'll meet you in the bar before hand!

Yes I was at Don Valley and was not impressed with the crowd. I remember feeling awkward and clumsy when I stood to dance...

Must be horrible for Celine performing to a lifeless crowd!

 

I'll be with a friend for all the UK gigs and I intend to enjoy every one regardless of the people around me!

The chairs are provided because we are meant to sit! Standing now and then (especially when encouraged by Celine) may be OK, but for the whole show? I think not! Be Courteous to those around you. I have seen senior citizens who have difficulty standing have their view blocked by uncaring young people, as well as short people and children having their view blocked as well. i can remind me when Shania Twain was for her last tour in 2004 at her concert in Munich the Crowd was so boring.

And after few songs she was so angry and said: shake your #ss and have fun! And after she'd said that the people are standing!

 

So i hope the audience in Munich will be different when Celine come on stage as it was by Shania

 

And I'll also remember when Bon Jovi played in Munich the whole Stadium was standing , singing and dancing the whole Show.

yeah damn why isn't there any standing section for the crazy fans???!! like it was on a Anastacia concert.....I will stand up for sure during the show....probably not the whole time because of the people sitting behind me but at least during her uptempo songs hehe so that I can shake my body.....

Last night she got a standing ovation in just about all of the songs. And we all stood up for Love Can Move Mountains and River Deep. Apart from that I had to dance in my chair. And that I did!!!

well i was closer to the back and people were not so willing to move..at all actually lol

towards the back they didnt bother to join in with standing ovations...there were a bunch of real fans dotted around though and we all joined in. and at one point during RDMH ( a lively song!!!) the lady behind me scratched my back and said sit down i cant see! i sat down and then i was like actually no ..ill do what i want thankyou this is a lively song... so i got back up again anyway and lent forwards so she couldnt scratch me!
