superstarleash Posted March 10, 2008 at 10:57 AM Posted March 10, 2008 at 10:57 AM Hey everyone!! For those who have already been to the tour....are we allowed to stand up for all of the fast songs or do security try to make you sit down?? I for one would find it INCREDIBLY frustrating to sit down for the whole show... Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg
Cheerfuljane Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:15 AM Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:15 AM Unfortunately it's the rest of the audience that is the problem. They usually only stand during LCMM when Celine instructs them to stand. If you stand someone will tell you to sit down - no - NAG you to sit down.In Las Vegas someone even had the audacity to pull my hair I did see security ask one lady to sit in Montecasino on the 29th. She was in the front row and was jumping up and down like crazy everytime Celine came to her side. I loved it. I wish everyone else would have joined her Sad people Quote
superstarleash Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:21 AM Author Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:21 AM That's very sad to hear... I am going to find it really frustrating. I do understand that everybody has paid a lot of money for tickets and want to see properly. But come on!! It's only for a few songs!! Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg

Vegas was terrible...people behind me were poking (it hurt) me when I was up during "I'm alive". lol..it's funny because Celine wants to see the audience up and dancing. When LCMM started and Celine shouted "everybody stand up" I gave a mean look to the people behind me and stood up. lol. I'm gonna stand/cheer and dance til I drop. That's for sure. If someone has a problem with that....it's his problem. He has two choices: to stand up too or sit and look at my cute butt. superstarleash Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:39 AM Author Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:39 AM She needs to instruct people to stand up more often in that case... Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg
venezia7 Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:55 AM Posted March 10, 2008 at 11:55 AM This is a really good point, im really hoping people do get up and get into the spirit of things during the lively songs, otherwise it makes them a bit boring. i think celine also enjoys it when the audience gets really lively...obviously at the appropriate times Quote http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e381/goldengryffindor/Celinedionsig-1.jpg
Bumble Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:01 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:01 PM If she wanted people to stand up, there would be a pit instead of floor seats. So you can stand up to applause for the intro, or ending of the show and mindblowing moments, but the rest of the time you should stay on your seats. superstarleash Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:13 PM Author Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:13 PM I agree. If you are going to see a live show you should get into the spirit and the atmosphere. Dance like mad and enjoy yourself. If not, watching it on the television is not much different. Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg
kathy4 Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:36 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:36 PM i would like to stand when she does my favorite songs. but there might be people in front of me who want to stand so if they stand then i can't see then i would have to stand so i could see. i have waited so long to see celine and i don't want anyone ruining it for me what about every one else? Cheerfuljane Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:41 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:41 PM I don't know what the logic is behind using seats I suppose it could be because they know Celne attracts somewhat of an older audience The Cape Town concert was standing and it SOOO awesome !! In one way !! But in another it was not that great because people pushed and shoved and you had arms waving and blocking your view - even though I was in the front Anu: You gotta wear a shirt that says on the back "Can you SEE my cute butt? Coz it ain't sitting !!" Quote
Nat27 Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:45 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:45 PM So you can stand up to applause for the intro, or ending of the show and mindblowing moments, but the rest of the time you should stay on your seats. I went to the PE show in South Africa. I was fourth row from the front in the reserved seated area. I got up as soon as she came out and immediately people behind were getting 'rude' and they even took my chair away! I didnt really care,as I wasnt going to be needing it anyway. After about three songs I moved to the front and found another chair to stand on. I did see the security guard, but he didnt care, I told him the people back there were 'rude'and he just laughed (I dont know maybe they were just more mellow in Port Elizabeth). I have been waiting to see Celine for close to eleven years and I had every intention of enjoying myself, and did I ever!!!! Dont think Celine ever asked for the crowd to stand up, because they were on their feet the whole time anyway. As for standing up and applauding at mindblowing moment: To me the entire show was mindblowing!!!!! (It still feels surreal to me) So basically I stood on a chair for about two hours, went crazy when she ventured over to our side, applauded until my hands and arms were numb, and sang even louder than I could and had the TIME OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!! superstarleash Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:50 PM Author Posted March 10, 2008 at 12:50 PM In a way the seating is good because it keeps the audience more 'controlled'. There is less chance of people passing out, crowd crushes and so forth. Quote http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg

TWINQUIN Posted March 10, 2008 at 06:00 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 06:00 PM most concerts these days have seats allocated.. but the majority of ppl use them to stand on. am in the front row for manchester and i have been waiting to c celine in concert for like 11 years and plan on standing for the most of it. what the point in sitting down? ur there to enjoy urself if i wanted to watch celine sitting down i wld watch a copy of a concert on my telly. i agree if ppl behind me arent amused they have the option to stand up too. lol!! Annalicious Posted March 10, 2008 at 06:40 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 06:40 PM Standing on the ground is one thing, but standing on chairs is just plain obnoxious because then no one behind you can see whether they are standing or sitting. If no one behind you wants to stand for a song then you are the one being rude as they paid as much as you did to be there. I would go with the majority, if everyone around me/in front of me stands then I will if it's one of my favorites or an upbeat song, but I won't be the only one standing blocking people's views if they prefer to sit. It's hard for me to stand for an entire show so I hate it when people in front of me stand for slow songs when there's absolutely no way you can even dance to it. Quote

TWINQUIN Posted March 10, 2008 at 08:12 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 08:12 PM sorry i wasnt meaning to offend anyone..i was jsut stating the point that ppl do sometimes stand on seats at concerts these days so thy can c better!! the majority of concerts only do this for the saftey aspect as it means less ppl are likley to get crushed. am not personally planning on standing on mine at the concert as am in the front row.. however i do plan to stand for most of the concert and am hoping that the rest of the crowd do to. Cesdra Posted March 10, 2008 at 09:10 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 09:10 PM I think it's lame if people sit during the whole concert. it makes it really hard for the artist to get a feedback from people. I think it's ok to take a break and sit during the ballads, but you gotta be on your feet dancing on the up-beat songs. Who can sit when she sings River Deep, Mountain High? You gotta be deaf or dead! I had front row seats for the Shania concert and during all the up-beat songs people were standing. I think it's a good idea to have seats up to the stage but it shouldn't be a requirement for people to sit all the time. That just kills off the fun and the atmosphere. Quote
mebe Posted March 10, 2008 at 09:54 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 09:54 PM When I pay for a concert, especially about 200$, if I want to stand up and dance and fully enjoy the show, I WILL stand up and dance and fully enjoy the show. I don't care about the other people. They just have to do the same. Quote

superstarleash Posted March 11, 2008 at 04:59 AM Author Posted March 11, 2008 at 04:59 AM I feel so sorry for those of you who have had somewhat violent experiences by audience members behind you. It would make you feel uncomfortable for the rest of the show. Dancing along to live music is what makes a gig fun and memorable. If that gets taken away it just isn't going to be as good.
