Just wanted to say that I'm now on my fifth day of not smoking, and it's really tough but I'm getting through it! It's a new policy in our school that teachers are not permitted to let us out for cigarette breaks, so that is helping a lot!

smoker or not lung cancer can be contracted ither way as i said my mother in law never smoked and she got it and died from it bottom line .

 

cancer aint funny and everyone has the right to complain as ive said lung cancer isnt just contracted by smokers.

You CAN do it!! Im proof.I used to smoke and stopped two years ago.

It was hard work,and got harder as time went on.But at some point i started feeling healthier and i didnt want to spoil it by smoking again and so it became easier to ignore the cravings.

My advice to anyone wanting to give up is to realy want to before you try.I know to people who never smoked this sounds weird but when you are adicted to something you have to really want to give up to find that willpower inside you(and believe me you can find it).I had another incentive to keep my willpower going too,my son came to me one day after school and told me he had just watched a science dvd at school about smoking and how it can kill.I will always remember him looking at me with tears in his eyes and saying "mummy i dont want you to die".It broke my heart and i threw the packet away that night!

Angeluk2, I liked your story a lot. It reminded me about a story about when I was 1 year old and was hospitalized because blood wouldn't stop coming out of my nose, and I was in danger of dying. My grandfather (who passed away six years ago) made a promise to God that if I survived, he would quit smoking and drinking. He was an alcoholic, and he never tasted a drop of alcohol following that day, and quit smoking immediately.

I smoke good cigarettes called DJARUMS. They are 50% more expensive than an average package of cigarettes, but they are delicious.
