Closet Celine fans

I will never be a closet fan. All my good friends know that I am crazy about celine, even many ppl in my mother's company know that she has a celinefan daughter, and it made two other staffs in that department jump out and declare that they are fans too!

 

And very dramatically, nearly all my good friends kind of like celine at first and it's they mentioned celine instead of me! At the beginging of my high school, we met in the dorm and had some girl talks. One of them suddenly asked: who you guys likes Celine Dion? I was surprised a little and didn't hesitate to raise my hand. Later, of course not just because of celine, we became best friends.

 

In the first month of my college, I made a close friend and we always hang out together till now. One day when we were waiting in line, she told me that she didn't bring any albums to school except Celine Dion's One Heart (of course she didn't know me like celine), but unfortunately, she left the disc at home and brought the empty box only. I told her I'm her fan right away and promised to lend her mine to listen!

 

Yet I don't mention celine whenever I meet someone cuz it's weird...but as long as we come into a related topic, I will definitely talk about celine. I remember one of my classmate in high school said MHWGO is not her type of music and then I lent ANDHC album to let her have a try. And she loves it very much, indicating that her favorite one is Have You Ever Been In Love. And she asked me to lend her more!

 

Wow...there are so many stories...some of them I can't even remember now! That's sweet to be a celine fan!!!

if you are not a fan of her, why do you have such a passion to collect her things? Plus, you have already had more than 2000 posts here. Isn't it a strong indicator that you are fanatic in her discussion? No offense, I'm just curious abt it

I know what you mean . I dont mind saying that she is my favourite singer. People would not know the extent of how much I like her, but I have no problem telling anyone if they ask me. I don't generally go around screaming it from the roof top though unless Im asked about music. Most of my friends know im a fan. And my family and boyfriend Know I am a huge fan.My wish is though that everyone could be a fan of hers and realise her fantasticness!!! Its true though, there is a certain stigma about being a Celine fan, that you are a granny or something if you like her, but basically when you put it all together, she is a fantastic singer, which cannot be a denied, a super performer and has had fantastic songs. So from an outsiders view I dont see what the big stigma is attatched to being her fan?! Makes me mad really but Who cares about what others think. Of course they dont know the extent of what a lovely cool person she is but I just have to get over that. I converted both my sister and mother to be quite a Celine fan. So Im proud of that. Hehe.......

I always believe in being straight with who I am and people can really like it ot they can lump it. Iv never followed the crowd!!!!

OK, this started 4 years ago, but it's a cute topic. I was never a closet fan, NEVER!!! I started listening to Celine in 1996, I think, I heard some Greatest Hits album. But the first CD I bought was in 1997- LTAL. I've spent a month without a breakfast in school to save the money. And I am sure this CD is the most played CD in the world, it was always in the CD player, playing day and night. My sister went crazy, she HATES Celine, that's what she says. She says I've poisoned her for years And after 12 years of poisoning, she finally told me, that actually she likes BYLM and When I Need You and I'm Your Angel is ok, she even has these songs in her play list But the thing that always makes me laugh a lot is that she knows every single word from all Celine's songs, no exception. Sometimes, when she forgets, she starts singing with her Well, she still says she hates her, she sends me invitations in facebook for joining groups like I hate Celine Dion, Celine, please, stop singing, Celine, cut your son's hair and so on. But it's funny she spends so much time, looking for Celine, searching for these groups

My mother and grandmother like Celine's songs, but they are a little fed up already. Sometimes they make jokes, I've been fighting with that for years My father laughed when I argued with my sister. She Liked Spice Girls, and I said: One day they will fall apart and Celine will never fall apart!!!

And my friends...well, they are used to...maybe because they don't live at home I gave FIY to my best friend, we still sing in a duo all the songs from this album. And I drove another friend crazy when her boyfriend left her. She played Just Walk Away and Water from the Moon even more than me!!! A colleague from the uni loves When The Wrong One Loves You Right, when she hears it she starts dancing. That was the ringtone on my phone, so she phoned me every time we are together to hear the song and to dance weird I gave Miracle to a friend and she never returned it! I have some other friends that say: Well, I love this song, or that song...but nobody so crazy-Celine-fan. Thank God, I have a couple of friends that are really devoted, one of them is a member in the forum and he helps me a lot, sharing experience :)He even went to a concert!!! After that I touched his hand and I haven't taken a shower since then! We've met because of Celine, 10 years ago! But that's another story.

I was a closet fan for maybe a few weeks, when I first started to like Celine. I think more than anything, it was because I wanted to make sure that being a Celine fan was something I really wanted to do, before facing peoples judgment of it

But my Mum outed me *sigh.* LOL. I got a little teasing from my family, but when they realized I didn't care what they said, they got bored of teasing. My Mum is pretty much a fan. She doesn't love Celine the way I do, but she went to 2 concerts with me and said Celine was the best performer she'd ever seen. She even bought more than one program.

I've had the same best friends for over 10 years, and I've been a Celine fan for 7 years, so they all know. They love singing along to her songs when they've had too much to drink They're not really fans, but at the end of the day they respect her as a person and an artist. Which is quite enough for me.

I don't talk about Celine 24/7... simply because it annoys people. And I don't think the people I work with know, but only because it's never come up in conversation, and I don't really feel like it's any of their business who or what I like. But I'm definitely proud to be a fan, and why shouldn't we all be? She's a good person. She doesn't go around getting DUIs or beating people up.

From the beginning I let people know that I love her. I'm not afraid of showing it at all and I never have been.

EVERYONE knows I'm a huge Céline fan. And they can take it or leave it!

Well, when i was in high school i felt weird about saying i was a celine fan but if anyone said what music i liked i would always tell them lol

 

My aunt and cousin came down last summer to c me one day and i had A new day DVD on and i showed her 'i drove all night', 'river deep ..' and 'My heart will go on'. After it finished my cousin and aunt diddnt say a word! they were very impressed. when they got home they instantly brought the DVD from HMV online. they love it and watch it everyday! My cousin is always dancing to it now all the time and has fell in love with all celine music!!

 

For Christmas i brought my aunt the double cd greatist hits and now she is hooked to that also, listening to it when ever she can, washing dishes, cleaning ect lol

 

They are now waiting like us for the Tour DVD and want to go to Vegas with when the new show starts! They wished they went to c her in Manchester now lol!!

 

If we promote celine like this more, im sure celine wil;l find many many new fans and sell lods more that she already does lol

I don't walk around telling everyone I'm a Céline fan but if someone wants to know what kind of music I like I'll tell them about my fandom. All my friends and some of my relatives know about my Céline obsession. When I became a fan I told my friends about it. I remember being like "I've discovered Céline Dion, she has an incredible voice and she's so amazing!" I made it perfectly clear to them I was a fan as I started talking about Céline almost all the time. I've never converted anyone, though.

I grew up with her music, my parents used to play two of her CD's in the car when we were out driving. (The Colour of My Love, Falling Into You) and those were the two CD's that I first heard, and I never really cared about anything else rather than listening to the music. For the most part I didn't really know all that much about her, I just knew her voice. My father told me a tiny bit about her family and where she was from and basically what he knew, but that was about it. Then My Heart Will Go On hit the charts all over the world and was played over and over I knew I loved her. From that moment on I was very excited when she released a new album. She was the only one whose CD I really wanted to buy. I've never gone overboard with how much I love her either, but people don't give her enough credit for her voice prostrations, they only complain about her love songs. Which is odd because she's the most selling female artist in the world. However, she became the person whose music I listened to as a child, knowing little, as a teenager, during my parents divorce, and now in my 20s still going on with my life. I just like to follow her music, it means something to me, and people may not care or make fun of that, but what do they really accomplish by saying they hate her in front of me? Do they think I care? No, I don't. Mind, I think it's so silly to make fun of something you actually enjoy, but you're too afraid to tell people what you listen to. I still don't have an obsession about her, but I do about her music.

cause why did she have so much fans when she's so baad and soo boring???
