the setlist sounds amazing , all my favs are there. I just wished she would have included 'A World To Believe In' 'Surprise , Surprise' and 'I Know What Love Is' but oh well we still got a fantastic set list. I wonder if the set list might be different for the UK?

Here I was thinking the Taking Chances tour was about the NEW albums..... It's great that she's doing That's Just the Woma in Me live, that's one of the most amazing songs she's ever recorded!

There were 23 songs tonight. Celine moved a lot, there were some glitches in her voice though but nothing to really worry about.

The audience wasn't that thrilled. I mean, it could have been way more extatic. It was the freaking celine for god's sake!

Yeah - sound problems !!! The first 2 lines of Woman in Me didn't come out - she was looking into the wings to get them to sort it out.

I'm wondering also about which set-list is correct (I'm new so forgive me but I couldn't find the setlist from show #1 in Johannesburg ...could some kind soul post a link?)

 

I was looking for youtube vids of the SA shows but couldn't find any although there are lots from the CBS Special. Off now to try and find a press review of the Pretoria show ... never did find any newspaper accoubts from Johannesburg on the actual show.

The voice of Celine Dion resounded yesterday in the immense Loftus stage of Pretoria, under a starry sky, having nearly 40 000 people.

 

It was not only The Power of coils, yesterday evening in Loftus Stadium of Pretoria, like one of the titles of the singer, but "the power of Céline". The star spread himself in all his splendour. It offered a dynamic spectacle hyper of high gauge. No the doubt, it counts among largest.

 

Its band of musicians, Claude Mégo Lemay (leader), Andre Coutu (guitar), Yves Frula (keyboard), Domenica Messier (battery), Marc Langis (low), Jean-Sebastien Bus D (violin) and Nanette Fortier (percussion), and its dancers, very solicited throughout the performance and in per pétuelle interaction with the singer, make of this show of dynamite. That moves, that leaves in all the directions. Projections with the thousand hot colors diffused on three immense screens add some.

 

And Celine in all that carries out the boat joyeusement. She was yesterday very in voice. This voice is indeed inimitable.

 

Adjustment of sound

 

Celine has, yesterday evening, at the time of truth great evening of first of her round Taking Chances (it had sung with the official reception-benefit of Nelson Mandela two days ago), seemed to know small problems with her monitors.

 

She adjusted discreetly the sound, the apparatus hung behind her back. One has to expect small pips of the kind one evening of great first.

 

If it had evil to get along, none the spectators saw the difference in the stage. Its voice returned like a ton of bricks. The sound was excellent besides, even in this gigantic enclosure with open sky. The emotion was with go and the shivers passed too.

 

Ten times better

 

In the stage of Pretoria, hundreds of fluorescent tubes shone in the black, the South African expressing their affection for the star. They waited this moment for a very long time.

 

"That made ten years that I want to see it. That made four months that our tickets were bought, bougonné an injury which had piqué of the reserved seats with somebody of other. I do not move from here!"

 

The public of Celine in South Africa resembles that of Quebec, of people of all ages, as a large majority of white race.

 

The South-Africans are however a little preserving. They shouted of "One loves you Céline" and applauded very extremely, also took part when one asked them to rise. But I would have liked more heat.

 

They however adored. At their exit of the stage, they all seemed charmed: "It was splendid", entrusted one of them.

Four tables

 

The spectacle of Celine is a whole of several tables which involve us from one environment to another. The singer passes from the rock'n'roll to the ballades with fluidity, it interprets even soul and pays a fabulous homage to the Queen group.

 

With Taking Chances, there is for all the tastes. One passes from a section of rock'n'roll removing to a block of inspiration flamenco to return to a very modern mood.

 

The singer interprets six of the new songs drawn from her album Taking Chances, of the name of her round, including the song titrates Eye one me with Arab savour, the Alone ballade of the Heart formation, Shadow of coils and insipid Just away. Towards the end, it holds its more heavy mé- lodie rock'n'roll drawn from its new album, That' S just the wo- man in me. Celine does not neglect either her traditional, the large hits as The Power of coils, It' S all coming back to me, Because you loved me and the only French song who will make the full rotation of the world, So that you like me in core, song of Jean-Jacques Goldman. The latter besides seems to charm the South-African public, which by the step a French word but rather English.

 

The singer interprets also All by myself, which makes it possible to offer to the public all the power of its voice, and To rivet deep mountain high, song of Tina Turner, right before finishing her spectacle with My heart will go one.

The opening of Taking Chances is made à.fond the case. One initially sees in projection on three gigantic screens the stiletto heels of the singer, then his long legs which move towards a sports car, then wind mills which turn in what resembles the desert of Nevada.

 

Other images of all kinds ravel. One sees of speed a few moments important in the career of the singer, left retrospectives in photographs. Even the very young Celine is seen whereas it began her career.

 

Always on giant screens, the singer puts herself at the wheel of a small sports car and it rolls on a road without end, the hair with the wind, more beautiful than ever. In basic music, one hears I drove all night, then here it is which arrives in flesh and bone on the scene top of the some steps, vêtue of a black and silver plated minidress.

 

"You are ready Pretoria?" question it. And the room to shout in a dash of pleasure: "Yes!" "Let' S C it!"(Let us go there!) add Céline.

Whereas the spectacle draws at its end, the singer pays a beautiful homage to the Queen formation with We will rock'n'roll you and Show must go one, very equipped with black.
