scorp82 Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:32 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:32 PM i love it but she have to shake it with the girls not just stand Just jump out of the nearest window, please. How come there is a burning feeling inside of me telling me that if she'd "shake it with the girls" you'd be the first one bitcching about how messed up she sounded and then you'd go on commenting: "I wish she'd stand still to hit them notes properly"? Please. LOL! Just like the people who complain about having to hear TPOL, IACBTMN, BYLM, TLYM, and MHWGO... And if Celine did not sing those songs on tour, they would also be the first ones to moan and whine, "How can Celine not sing those songs? Those songs made her be known for what she is today! It would just not be a Celine concert without those songs!" Quote

Teodora Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:38 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:38 PM I just cried watching Because You Loved Me.... What the hell is wrong with me??? Thanks Jane! Is it just my impression or were the people singing along to BYLM (apart from you, I mean)? Quote
pumaloverke Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:45 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 10:45 PM I agree actually. Those old songs that made her the singer she is today should stay in the setlist. I'm glad she still does those songs today. I'm especially pleased she's singing ABM again, one of my fav songs from Céline. I thought she would never sing that one live again...so i'm very surprised about that one. I really don't understand why ppl are complaining about this amazing setlist she does. It's also one of the most longest ones. Normally a Céline concert is like 90 min tops. So, im a very happy person and I can't wait to see her in Belgium in may. About the lipping. She has done that ALWAYS. Nothing new, so get over it or don't go to the concert. Peace :-) Kevin Quote CELINE DION: Remember The Name, Because You'll Never Forget The Voice

Céline's Blues Posted February 19, 2008 at 11:51 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 11:51 PM Here some comments:I’m a gr8te fan of Celine Dion-she’s my role model.I always use to say i only live to c Celine and then God can take me away.It was my only wish to c her live….I went to watch her show Saturday at Loftus,i could’nt help myself but i started to cry, cause my only wish came through I saw my star in real life. She’s Gooooood in what she’s doing.I LOVE HER TO BITS. *** Celine Dion is by far the GREATEST star that has ever lived. She definitely proved this on Saturday night as well as Last Thursday at the Unite of the Stars Benefit. It was an absolute dream come true to this once in a lifetime performer! She has the most incredible stage presence and has the most crystal clear vocals. The overwhelming feeling as she belted out her best songs were inspiring and brought tears to my and many others eyes. I can’t express just how amazing and spectacular you are. You are the Best! You are a true Legend Celine Dion, and you will forever be a role model to me as well as Society. With great admiration and Love Gareth ***I am so disappointed. I bought tickets last year to get the best seats available in my budget. I gave my parents the tickets for Christmas. Their 28th wedding anniversary on Saturday. You can imagine the excitement during the build-up to the concert. To my dismay, when I called up my parents on Sunday morning instead of raving about finally experiencing the amazing Celine live, my parents complained of hours of agony. Upon arrival at the stadium at 18:30, no-one could assist them with finding their seats and they were sent from pillar to post until they were finally told that the entire U block had been relocated. They were told that their tickets had been “upgraded” and to proceed to the main entrance. At the main entrance an angry crowd of about 200 built up because there was no-one there to help them. Suffice to say, tempers ran high, fights broke out and tears were shed. Thank God my elderly parents were not injured! They finally entered the stadium at 21:15 after over 2 hours, only to find their “upgraded seats” were high up in the stands at an angle to the stage (perhaps they meant to say downgrade?) It’s really sad that what was supposed to be an experience of a lifetime turned out to be a nightmare of note. I really feel short-changed by ticket connection and I am appalled by their level of service and disorganization *** WOW!!!!!!!!!! WHAT AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE!!!! CELINE DION’S CONCERT WAS EVERYTHING I HOPED IT WOULD BE AND MORE!!! EVERY SONG BELTED OUT WAS PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL, MISS CELINE, YOU’RE ONE OF A KIND, NO OTHER SINGER WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO YOU!!! YOU WILL REMAIN A LEGEND OF OUR TIMES AND FOR MANY MORE YEARS TO COME! I’VE BEEN A FAN FOR MANY YEARS AND WILL REMAIN A LOYAL ONE FOREVER……………! *** Celine, you were all I had ever hoped you would be and more. I have never, ever experienced anything quite so beautiful. You have the voice of an angel and it touched every part of my heart and soul. Thank you for the awesome experience and a life-long memory. It was an honour and priviledge to be at your concert. You are the star among stars. With all my love and respect, Sharon *** We attended Celine Dion’s concert at Loftus. I just would like to say how disappointed I was in the organizing of this event and how poorly Celine was received by the crowd at Loftus. There was no proper security (I walked in without being searched), some people had cameras where other people had to get rid of their cameras, the gates opened late, there were so many mix ups with tickets and seats, tickets holders who paid R400/R300 pulled up their chairs form the back to sit next to us in the GOLDEN CIRCLE??? and then those idiots telling us (screaming at us) to sit down because they can’t see? This is a live concert by an international superstar and we were supposed to sit down? I have looked forward to last night for a year and has never been so disappointed! But Celine was so amazing just as I expected, but I could even pick up from her that there was no energy in the crowd. I felt so sorry that this diva should open her world tour in a place like Pretoria Loftus and having such a terrible crowd… I think we were only 4 in the golden circle who gave her multiple standing ovations. I’m embarrassed to call myself a south African Celine Dion fan. Thomas. *** Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Céline's Blues Posted February 19, 2008 at 11:57 PM Posted February 19, 2008 at 11:57 PM (edited) Lucky us went to watch the concert @ Loftus last night. We had some drinks and snacks before and walked from Magnolia Dell ( we went to Huckleberries) to the stadium. First on was Jody from Idols. She's good but a lot of people only settled to their seats when she was almost done...so she didn't really have everyones attention. Then the diva walked onto the stage and wow...if you think Loftus could make some noise for a few rugbyplayers...you should have heard them then. It was packed...seats were placed all over the field and from what I heard, some of those front-row tickets cost R5000!!! OMW!!! As I said before, I am not her biggest fan but I think that she is quite good. She was on stage for 3 hours and during her costume-changes her 'band' sang and the dancers entertained...it was very good! But I still think Robbie Williams was better and he really had Loftus raising the roof! I will definitely go to one of his concerts again! conway1487 Posted February 20, 2008 at 01:45 AM Posted February 20, 2008 at 01:45 AM i really hope that once the tour hits the americas that she sings more songs off of the TC cd. there are soo many good songs that would be great live. right next to the right one could be a great acoustic thing to do and i got nothing left would be amazing too since her vocals are so on point. plus, my love is a great ballad that would be great to see in a show. we'll see!! stevethefan Posted February 20, 2008 at 02:26 AM Posted February 20, 2008 at 02:26 AM Thanks for all the great pictures Jane! It's exciting to see something from these first shows. I know there were some news reviews saying there were some technical glitches but that's to be expected at the beginning of any tour. I'm sure as time goes on in this tour things will go smoother. autumnskies00 Posted February 20, 2008 at 04:42 AM Posted February 20, 2008 at 04:42 AM I think tpol was 100% live. I think she is just used to singing that song OVER and OVER and OVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEER so it just sounds the same every time. Its probably effortless for her by now. As for the videos, stop being so pushy guys. Jane will get them up while she can. We're lucky she even taped it for us because that probably took away from the excitement of the show a little bit for her. Thanks again Jane! Sergey Posted February 20, 2008 at 08:25 AM Posted February 20, 2008 at 08:25 AM (edited) You know, there's one thing, which I simply refuse to understand - why does Celine cheat with The power of love in such a rude way? I mean, every Celine's fan, who has heard to many, many of her live performances and who perfectly knows her album version, can easily say that in this latest concert bootleg of The power of love, Celine does the same thing she had been doing in Las Vegas shows - she sings the first verse live and then starting from the first chorus ('cause I'm your lady... and till the end of this song) we hear the Colour of my love studio recording played back.I mean, you can instantly hear the dramatic change in her voice between her having sung the whispers in the morning... LIVE, HERE and NOW, and what comes next when the playback studio recording begins - that voice of 15 (!) years back. Wasn't it easier to record some recent FULL LIVE version of this song and lipping this recent pre-recorded The power of love instead of this weird mixture of live+studio?
