Here is my review!

 

 

I went to the arena 5 hours before the show 'coz I was so excited to see Celine live for the very first time.

A local TV station made a shooting interview to fans who gathered at the arena. They brought LPs of La Viox Du Bon Dieu and Fallng Into You. How fabulous was that!

 

The merchandise was not sold at the entrace of the arean. Instead, I saw them at a shop on a different floor of the arena. The tour book, 4-versioned shirts costed $US 240 each. The special edition of D'elles, the DVD+CD set of All The Way (australian version with Think Twice and Falling Into You) and Taking Chances Long Box woth perfume were sold here as well! I bought them all! So sad posters were not sold.

 

In the 10,000-seated arena, I saw Celine's mother and Rene-Charles walking to their seats on the slop. There were around other 10 western people acccompaning them. I was wonder who they were. Anybody know?

 

At last, the light went out. The show's time was around 20 minutes late. The moment I had been waitng for 10 years came. I was at the 31st row so it was very close to the stage. Finally, our extraordinary queen appeared on stage after the intro video! but at that time I began to feel that I was rather far from the stage. i failed to see her face clearly. It was very small. I had to rely on the screen a lot.

 

I hate to say I found the concert's atmosphere was not as great as I had expected. Audiences seemed lifeless like robots. I was extremely stunned that less than 10% of audiences screamed when Celine appeared! And they continued to be lifeless throughout the show. Celine even decided to shout "On tour with me, Macau!" to wake them up! People stood up when Celine sang Love Can Move Mountains but as for Riverdeep Mountainhigh, they just sat down. Celine and dancers performed so much amazing but nobody danced with them. They just sat like they watched TV at home. Oh God! I think the Au Coeur Du Stade DVD was much more fun and exciting than the real show. I am not pessimism or going insane but this was true!

 

i was so annoyed by people who walked from one side of the floor to the other. They walked and ran every 10 minutes! And some person even entered the arena when Celine sang Alone. Oh!

 

I felt there were too much echoes in the arena. Sometimes the musical intruments' sound were louder than Celine's. I could not hear her voice as clearly as I did in the CDs or DVDs. I don't know if this happened only to me! Sigh!

 

I think the show was cut short! God! The majority of the setlist was the same as other shows in Africa. But she didn't sing I Got The Music In Me, Think Twice, Can't Fight This Feeling and Fade Away. Celine disappeared from the stage within 3 minutes after My Heart Will Go On was finished. This was the shortest show in the tour so far! I felt a little cheated!

 

What's more, I think the 2 side screens were not necessary. To me, their contents did not match the rhythm of songs. Love Can Move Mountains's video was not as wonderful as I expected. I was so disappointed! The heart stage was 10 times better. I believe the video designer was another one from the Let's talk About Love tour.

 

However, the voice of Celine was flawless and powerful as much as I expected. She held All By Myself's high note so perfectly as if she just spoke in a normal voice! Her voice was amazing from the very first minute to the last. She didn't seem to be tired or fatique at all! How professional she was!

 

I think I have to go to western countries to get more exciting atmosphere. I felt a little bit disappointed with the concert. but I still love Celine's voice as I have done for solid 10 years. I graded this concert 7 out of 10. Celine made the show's atmosphere better!

I think we need to give away some juice at the shows spiked with "Happy Pills" so people will get up and dance

It was lucky that all kind of cameras were allowed throughout the show. A staff told me that I could photograph anytime I wanted

 

But it was bad for me that I could take a few pics because my camera's battery was dead

 

I saw a lot of people used their cameras to record BYLM and MHWGO. people didn't record other songs.

Celine Dion didn't disappoint fans last night at the Venetian Macao's arena.

The 15,000 seat venue was crammed with locals as well as many that travelled from Hong Kong and the mainland to see the “Taking Chances” tour.

Starting at just past 9pm, Dion gave fans a taste of her new album as well as wooing the audience with many of the old favourites.

During the one and a half hour show, Dion changed wardrobe over five times. She performed more than 20 songs, saving the fans' favourite until the end.

The title track to the movie “Titanic”, “My Heart Will Go On” brought the crowd to their feet during the one song encore.

During the show Dion chatted with the audience. She had spent the last three days in Macau, during which time she checked out some of the local tourist attractions, she told the audience.

Dion even learned some Mandarin for the occasion, thanking the crowd with the phrase “Xiexie”.

The tour, promoting the singers latest album, kicked off in Johannesburg, South Africa last month where she played to over 300,000 fans. The gruelling schedule will see the Canadian perform more than 100 shows over the next year.

In a sign of the new status of Macau in the region, Dion skipped Hong Kong, travelling to Macau from Osaka, Japan.

Dion is also a favourite in the US gaming capital, Las Vegas. Beginning in 2003, the star sang five nights a week at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in a 4,000-seat arena designed specifically for her show.

“A 90-minute event, "A New Day" introduced a new form of theatrical entertainment, a fusion of song, performance art, innovative stage craft and state-of-the-art technology,” a press release states.

“Over the course of the show's record-breaking sold-out run, more than 3,000,000 people have seen Celine Dion's "A New Day."

The show took in approximately USD400 million according to promoters, making it “one of the highest concert grosses in music history”.

“A New Day” was created by Dragone Productions, who will also create a performance for the Cotai City of Dreams' development beginning next year.

From Macau, Dion will fly to Seoul, South Korea for two shows.
