A few months ago, I opened a design website for, as the title bares, website and graphic designs. I figured since I've been receiving so many requests for things lately, that I should start trying to get some income with it. :giggle: Anyhoo! This is not to ask for help with advertising (but you can if your lovely little hearts want to ), but I ask that if possible, for those who have experienced the Erika T. Designs (ETD), or just my designs in general (example: avatars, signatures, wallpapers, etc...), and have some positive feedback, please leave some for me here so that I can post it for future visitors, and perhaps potential buyers to see.

Thanks to everyone in advance! This will help me out a BIG bunch! ^_^

I get the first two with the name, but the second one is a bit much, website design tends to follow trends and I could name a dozen websites that have that similar layout.

But...Hey, I'm going to be encouraging and say: Keep on designing, E!

The more you do it, the more you learn, and hopefully, the better you get at it.

In art and design, people learn from each other, people get inspired and people express with imagination and creativity.

So, listen to well-reasoned, constructive criticism to shape your knowledge and understanding of the tools you use and the designs you create.

Most of all - have a good and fun time doing it!

I asked for some positive feedback. I can't even indulge what I love here anymore, can I? I've gone my own way and I've been through thick and thin. I have no intentions of copying Clarissa. She herself designs well, of course, but you all well know that there's more than one designer in this world. Sometimes people throw it back in your face with nothing except rude comments. And you know, sometimes those people are the actual crying shame. :angry2:

Anywho, if you don't know how to deal with some negative feedback and only want positive feedback, girl, then you're gonna have a hard time in real life, cuz that's what you will get... esp when you're trying to be something you're not

I don't know what the world has come to, but sometimes I come into contact with people that I just can't unravel, and that saddens me.

Some people don't care, and some don't bother to take the time to know me and they judge me right off the bat.

Some people want to believe that there is one of everything in the world, and that there should only be one, but it's not true. Has anyone ever taken the time to look over thier own lives? Studies have shown that only 10% of an entire person is themself - what God has given them. The rest follows trends - hair, makeup, clothing, etc... It all follows a trend, and the same goes for everything else. Everyone always wants the newest gadgets, the fanciest cars, the coolest do. And in terms of designs, the current expectation is as follows, and I'm just trying to go with the flow, as is everyone else.

That's a photo site for friends and family. The title was a compromised friends and family request.

And it will also serve as a photography profile for my photo class.

From what I've read here, people are just trying to make this a big issue for nothing. In no one's defense, I'd just like to ask if we can't even promote something that we love and nurture, here in CCF ?? If so, then I just dont know what to say :confused:

You're totally getting it wrong! What E! meant to say was that she just wanted to know how her designs were... that's all!

And from where did you get the idea that Erika's trying to be something she's not?? From what I know, she's a good and upcoming designer, a nice person and overall, a very good friend. You don't know her so how can you even judge her and say that she's gonna get a hard time in life?? :whistling:

And Erika is standing out on her own. I've been to Clari's site "Celine Smiles" and I honestly say that I loved her site and I hope that it reopens soon. I myself am trying to be a profesional graphics designer, and if I open a website that uses the same software (Photoshop CS3 etc), and some of my designs are somewhat similar to Erika's or Clari's designs, does it make me a copycat?? :ermm:

Besides, by saying something good or supoorting Clari, doesn't make Erika "close to admitting" that she's stealing Clari's concept. If Clari has any problems with Erika or her designs, then it is not your place to point out... it's Clari's. SHe should come forward and do it. :flowers:

Erika, when you "put yourself out there" so to speak by inviting people to view your web site and then asking for comments, you have to be prepared for comments that are not always positive.

If you believe that everyone (or atleast Erika) is copying someone, then what do you have to say when Celine sounds and takes on Kara DioGuardi on "Taking Chances" almost exactly?? I'm pretty sure you're gonna be defending and saying that no Celine does it "in a different way" when it is apparently the same.

Amen to what you said about Clari. I also wish and pray that she was here to say something about this.

I am prepared to received negative comments, but I never thought people would be negative in such a harsh way.

Not only am I receiving art criticism, but now I'm getting criticism to the person that I am from some people who don't even know me.

Anyone would feel that way, Jeroen. If almost everyone seems to be ganging on against you, I think I'd be on my defensive as well.

Seems some people think I pointed out the similarities cause Erika posted this topic to promote her site. They are wrong, actually I noticed the similarities between those two sites since day 1. There are also some stories behind it that Clari may tell you later. Moreover, if you think the fact that CelineSmiles is Clari's site and others shouldn't care or do not have a say about it.....why are you commenting on this thread? Celinerific or CelineSmiles? Yup, I'd like to know about those stories Clari would like to tell. :yes: Honestly, I don't know her to judge her and so I refrain cos it's just not my place to do that. And I didn't say that people can't compare or comment about both the sides, I just said that people didn't have the right to judge someone when they didn't know the person. :shrug:

And Celinerific is definitely not my site, but I do help there and I'm one of the staff there, so I think that atleast entitles me to say something in defense :giggle:

I hope we all end this in a good note cos I really had it with replying to so many things :doh: :laugh:

Clari is a designer of our forum. She had designed many banners and graphics for our forum. I also know her personally as a friend. We even had met in Vegas last December. So I feel the need to say something about her designs.

I also noticed the striking similarities ever since celinerific was hosted on freewebs.com If you have ever seen Clari's graphics or first time seeing it, it won't take long to notice them. The style is so similar, it's not funny.

Coincidence? I think not. You know the saying, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The list goes on...if you are still not convinced, I don't know what else to say! As much as I hate to say it, the truth has to get out there, I don't want others to be mislead by people who copy other's work and claim it to be their own. And especially when money is to be made from it. Anyway, I hope I haven't offended anyone, that wasn't my intention.

I don't understand why everyone's out there to shoot me down. And to inform everyone, I'm not making any profits from Celinerific through designs whatsoever. And I admit, SOME, and only SOME of the ideas on there were INSPIRED by Celine Smiles. And I don't get why you're all fussing about this... I've given thanks for inspiration to Clari. I look up to her, I do. She's a great designer and I embrace that.

And I've even asked Clari in the past if it was alright to use some of her layout ideas, and she seemed to be pretty nice about it.

I've simply expanded over the years in the ideas. I've collaborated with other designers for ideas, and it's nothing I'm ashamed of. I love what I'm doing and I do it happily, with passion.

If you ask me, Clari is one of the best designers out there. Without a doubt. :flowers:

Each website will have its distinct differences, but sometimes it's possible the have similar content.

What harm is it doing to anybody? It isn't. I want this to be straightened out clear as water. :yes:

First off, I have no hard feelings for anyone on the forum, and I don't think I ever will. This forum is the best place to be online. I've met so many wonderful people here. In addition to that, Vic and Bellamy are doing such a wonderful job keeping this place up, and I have so much respect for them, you wouldn't even believe! ^_^

Secondly, Clarissa is the first amazing designer I've ever discovered. In the past when she had more free time on her hands, and when she had the Celine Lounge up, I posted there a lot and I loved what she did to no end. I asked questions both on there and to her personally. She was the sweetest and she was encouraging. These memories I have are vague, but precious. Ever since then, I looked up to her a lot, and I still do. It really bums be out that she's been so preoccupied lately.

And thirdly, I created Celinerific to share my love for Celine, graphics, websites, and worldwide interactions. I never expected it to even come this far, but it did, and I'm really happy about it. And a big thanks to its success is because of inspiration. In the beginning, I've been inspired solely by Clarissa, but now slowly, but surely, I've been finding my own path. And to be completely and straight-out honest this is the place where Celinerific's current look was inspired... click here.
