i have been a fan of celine since 5th grade. it was early 1997, still the FALLING INTO YOU era. IACBTMN, BYLM, ABMS, TLYM and ILY was in heavy rotation on our local radio stations. and i can still remember singing these songs in my very own lyrics since i don't know the exact words of those songs. i used my tootbrush as my microphone, and i used to sing celine songs while taking a bath. reaching those super high notes 'till the next day, i had a caugh, and when i had money, i asked my mom to buy me the FALLING INTO YOU cassette. she bought me the album and played it like 5X a day. that's crazy but everytime i look back to those days, it makes me smile. :)

im just wondering, what album introduced other fans to celine? what's the very 1st record of celine you ever bought?

"Falling into you" I was in about the fifth grade too, I was young for my class so it may have even been fourth grade, I'd have to do the math and I was never good at math, lol. The very first song I heard her sing (when I knew it was her singing) was "All By Myself" - that note, I was sold!

it'd be "Falling into You" - i still remember i first saw her on the TV. It was the video of "It's all coming back to me"

then, saw her performance at the Olympics (Atlanta).

From tht moment on, i knew i need to listen to this lady!

tht marks the start of going all goo-goo-gaagaa over Celine :spaz:

It was "All the Way". I borrowed it from a friend and since then I've been interested in Celine's work. In the first opportunity I had after watching the DVD, I bought it.

My first Celine album was "The colour of my love". I wasn't a Celine's fan, but I really liked her voice in a song that radio stations from my city (Cordoba, ARGENTINA) was playing over and over. That song was "Think twice". When I bought the CD, I realized that she was the one who sang "The power of love" (I had no idea), so I was happy with my purchase.

As the days passed by, I slowly became a Celine huge fan, and quickly ran to the Cd shop to buy her previous record (celine dion, since "Unison" was not realeased here)

When "Falling into you" came out, I had no doubt I would be a Celine's fan for a lifetime...and I still am

Ha, interesting:) Almost everybody's first was FIY:)

Well, the first album I ever bought was actually "Live a Paris" on a casette tape, then followed Unison and LTAL just hours later... Yeah, I actually heard LAP and ran back to the shop right after that and got LTAL and Unison. And then I bought FIY a day later! Haha!:)

My first Celine song I've ever heard was also "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" it was in 1995 on my french lesson in school, we've made a lyrics translation from french to polish. I remember ouer teacher showed us the cassette cover and said " this lady looks like this and her name is Celine Dion" and then one boy shouted "she is pretty" heheh

After this I bought D'eux, then FIY and then TCOML. Its 13 years now...

The first ever song I bought was "Treat her like a lady". Once I got home played the tape. At the end of the song another started to play and I instantly fell in love with it. That song was - "The prayer". This song has to be one of my favourite songs of all time. I drove my parents mad as I listened to the song over and over (i thought I would wear it out I listened to it so much)!!!

I remember that the first record I've ever had of Celine has been "Let's talk about love" (1997). It has been my father's album and I loved it so much that he got hold of another two copies for me and my sister, because at that time he worked at a company that produces Celine's microphones.

When "All the Way" came out in 1999 I danced to it in front of my mirror and in 2001 I've become a huge Celine Dion fan. I got hold of every album she's published ever since and I load a lot of her old songs from iTunes. I also love her french songs very much, especially since I've had to learn French in school, because I can understand the text.

'Think Twice' single... as a present for my mum!

It was 1994 and I was 11. One day my mum said she had heard a song called 'Think Twice' and really REALLY liked it.

Not long after, I saw Celine on TV and told my mum: 'Oh yeah, I saw that song you were talking about. It's by Seline Somebody...'

Anyway, I bought the cassette as a Christmas present for her but I suddenly found myself listening to it more than she did!

In March 1995, or thereabouts, my mum bought ME a present: 'The Colour Of My Love' album on CD. It was an amazing surprise and I probably wouldn't be on this forum if my mum hadn't given me that CD. That was almost 13 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday!

In July that year, I was on holiday in Turkey, and was amazed to find a cassette of 'Celine a l'Olympia' in a tiny village market. This was probably the first record I bought for myself. I convinced my parents to lend me the money and convinced myself that the album was the same as COML, but with the songs translated into French!! I was only 12! That was when I discovered Le Blues Du Businessman, which still ranks as one of my Celine favourites.

Then came D'EUX which was the first CD album I bought for myself.

The most memorable purchase, though, was FIY album. I don't think I knew Celine was releasing a new album at the time so when I saw it in a store one day I was amazed. I rushed to the listening post and played the CD. I was blown away from the very first chord of IACBTMN. It was incredible. It is definitely the first (and only) time an opening track of an album has had such an impact on me! I can't put it into words. I had to rush home to get my money then back the store to buy it. I was thirteen.

I can hardly believe it all began 13 years ago. And I can't believe how productive Celine was between 1993-1997. At the time it felt like an eternity between COML and FIY but now FIY is more than ten years old! It's just crazy. I think her productivity just demonstrates how talented, professional and, above all, generous Celine Dion is.

When I first heard IACBTMN I just thought OMG who is this I have got to get everything she has ever done! So the first album I bought was Falling into you, and then

The Colour of my love and Live a Paris concert and from watching that I realised that she not only had an amazing voice, but she was an outstanding performer too....

and my obsession grew from there!

Falling into you, it is also my favorite Celine's album. Its like "I'm falling into Celine Dion". LOL. Gosh, Dhena we're almost the same I like Celine since I was at 5th grade she did impressed me that time and became her fan! Celine is really amazing. And I used to play my Falling into you cassette like 3x in a day. But I 1st heard Celine siging is through her song Beauty and the Best. My family and I came to theater to watch it. And then power of Love, I heard it on the CD of my eldest brother. It's like i BIG WOW to me when I 1st hear the woman's voice and it is Celine. Edited by aicee

I think I was listening to her songs long before I knew who she was, but it was in 1996 at the Olympics that I really took notice. My best friend told me "listen to this singer, she's really great". I listened and ever since then I can't get enough.

My first tape was right after that, a greatest hits from the TCOML and FIY albums a friend made for me. OMG, that was almost 12 years ago, I was in 6th grade.

First CD was a present from my godmother, S'il Suffisait D'Aimer. Then came ALL the rest.

Hey, and this year will be my first time seeing her in concert!!!!!!! Soooooo excited! It's a long time coming.

Well, technically BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in 1992, but officially it was FALLING INTO YOU in 1996 when i was 10.
