I watched the extras earlier tonight and I can give a huge thumbs up to the entire DVD. Totally new footage throughout, some wonderful ideas including the fan tribute and some truly revealing moments from the A New Day... journey. It's amazing to see what work goes into a 90 minute show and the "Secrets" feature was very enjoyable too, the undoubted highlight being the discussion over the blonde hair, an admission at last that perhaps it was all a mistake lol.

 

The wait though was well worth it, this is the chronicle of "A New Day..." that everyone wanted. A fitting tribute to a remarkable show.

I was at HMV at the trafford centre for 10am when the doors opened to get my copy. As soon as I got home I watched the concert that I have been waiting 5 years to see and I was not disappointed it was FANTASTIC , the best show I have ever seen. I watched it on my computer that has BOSE companion 5 speakers and for those of you that know about Bose will know the amazing sound quality, with the subwoofer as well it was like being at Caesers seeing the show the sound quality was that good but anyway back to the dvd.

From the mirror smashing to the last frame I was hooked I couldnt take my eyes off the screen it's so magical and Celine sounded amazing live. My favourite performances were RDMH , MHWGO , ITCBTMN , BYLM and many others. I am so looking forward to seeing her next year in Manchester. I watched the special feature 'Because you loved me - a tribute to the fans' and Celine is so kind and very personal with each and every fan she met , she was so lovely those of you that are on the dvd and are on here were so lucky to meet her , she is such a lovely woman. I will be watching Disc 2 later and will probably be watching the show again and again.

I just now had the chance to watch the Bonus Features.

To tell you the truth, I was utterly bored by the All Access part.

The Secrets part is great and now I feel so sad about them having to throw away the first filming of the show with the blond hair, which so many here didn't like and which i LOVED. Anyway, I cannot believe they threw it away because of that. The TFTEISYF performance was genius!!! It's such a pity!!! I hope they release it someday in a special edition or something.

Also the tribute to the fans part was sooo sweet. She reduced me to tears once again, she's so amazing and sweet and just normal. (I know its off-topic, but this Kevin Wright was SMOKING HOT :blush: )

Anyhow, the dream for a special edition including all the periods of the show still lives on, but they have undoubtedly put together a wonderful release!

You will only appreciate the genius of this concert and the true entertainer and amazingly hard worker that is celine once you watch the second dvd! it is amazing how fast she works and changes clothes and she barely has time to eat (only while doing her hair). There is a small segment at the beginning with a kid that is so touching you can't help but start crying. All in all, this DVD shows the world the real celine: the amazing singer, the amazing entertainer, the amazingly hard worker, and the even more amazing human! Thank you for putting out this dvd, thank you for sharing your life with us like always, this is what makes her different than other stars and this is what makes us the fans adore her. Keep it up celine, you deserve all the happiness in life because of the hundreds of millions that you made happy on this earth!

I cried when that cute guy from Brazil spoke to her in french and when the girl with the license plate saw Celine aww that was touching,also cried with the lady from Mexico and the asian lady who came before and the show was canceled. i met most of them in vegas but i forgot there names sorry.

 

Such a nice DVD. Seeing myself on the screen after TLYM was super funny to me , i couldn't stop laughing , lol i looked so dorky but im glad to be part of it, it was such a nice time for me. Meeting all of you there was something super special.

 

The DVD is the closest thing to the concert anyone can get for sure but nothing compares to actually being there in person, for sure its not the same.

 

Now after watching the backstage scenes with her running like crazy and the army of people getting things ready for her it really showed how hard it is to do the show. She is super hard worker and she deserves all those very expensive shoes she buys.

 

Very satisfied with the whole DVD , very nice for Christmas time and as a gift to people.

Has anyone reviewed the DVD that hadn't actually been to the show? I'm curious to know what fans think about it that haven't actually seen the entire thing before. And has anyone gotten it in the US today? I'm going after work but swear I saw somewhere the DVD was delayed in the US for another week.

Amazon.com shipped on Sat. in the USA. Best Buy has it on special for $12.99 this week.

I am getting it today or tomorrow!

This DVD is awesome!!!! I watched the concert twice last night! The first time my smile was so big, it was insane. The second time, I actually managed to cry through IIC, PQTME, ATW & MHWGO. Gosh! I'm gonna miss not having Celine in Vegas. The All-Access special feature was amazing. You really don't realize how much hard work and dedication goes into making a show like this happen night after night. I loved the part on the Secrets feature when Celine got sick and the dancers got really worried about her so they sent her a card and loving retitled the show "A NUDE Day". I'm gonna go watch the concert again!!!!

I am in the UK and ordered the DVD and Blu Ray version through Amazon and waited in anticipation for them to arrive today...only to receive an E-Mail from Amazon saying the release had now been delayed until February 08...can you imagine the disapointment...but reading this thread it seems this may only be a delay in the UK...does anyone know if this is the case

Only the Blu-Ray is postponed until February 2008, the 'normal' DVD is already in stores in many countrys, including Holland! I bought it last saturday!

The standard DVD is very much released in the UK, as I bought it the other day, but it seems the Blu Ray has been delayed until next year.

i'm excited and i live the show very much but i have to say that theres a thing that bothers me about it and that is first of all u can see the diff in her apearance i mean in the same songs bec we all know that they filmed it on several days so althoug celine tried to look the same it didnt work dont get me wrong she looks fantastic but i mean if u notice theres a diff in the makeup and eyeshadow and hair too but i think they use the footage from the most bad day i mean in her look ,for ex in seduces me take good look when she sits on the chair the lip stick is diff when its red celine looks way better and olso her hair ,but anyway i love it but that bec i want her to look the best always but the dvd is wonderful i love it and by the way that was the same prob with acds i think she looked better in the other night that they didnt use its footage alot

Just bought it at Walmart for $16.99US. Cheaper than the one I ordered at amazon. $22.00US with shipping, and I won't get it till tomorrow, so I bought another one today.

 

Now, I am getting the DVD ready for my ipod so I can take it with me to Vegas on Thursday. Maybe I can sell tickets for an ipod viewing (Hehe)

 

A couple things i noticed as I paroused through a few songs on the DVD.

 

1. After ANDHC they panned the audience, they were lit so brightly. What's up with that? Everything went black. As you recall after that song, the theater is pitch black. You can't see anybody. I think that destroys the effect and intro into the next song. I don't know if they did it this way on others as I have not seen the entire DVD yet. I hope not.

 

2. Intro into MHWGO seemed a little short. I know from experience the applause on River deep went on much longer than was in the DVD. It seemed kind of rushed. I know its only dead time but that "dead time" adds to the realism and excitement of being there.

 

If only the DVD would look like it did when I had the dead center AAORCH4 seat. Now that would be a DVD. I do realize after watching a few of the songs, how much of the show I have not actually seen as my attention is ALWAYS riveted on Celine and all else fades out.

i went to the one store on saturday to ask for a copy of the dvd. i know they had them in their storeroom but this cow wouldn't let me have one. last week sunday i went to another store, and this guy who was unpacking dvd's onto the shelf went to look if the dvd had come in yet. he was prepared to let me have it if it was in. this cow at the other store wasn't prepared to let me have it giving the whole "release date" stuff etc and so forth. i have been so busy i haven't been able to leave my computer since yesterday 6 in the morning trying to get all my clients assessments done. and i don't know when i'll be able to get to the shops again. it is now 16 minutes past midnight and i'm still trying to do bloomin well assessments for clients. this woman could have let me have a copy, it's not like it was still a week to go till the release date .

Yes, that got me too. I have to say watching the extras was fascinating. It was so interesting to watch Celine handle all of these fans. She is such a pro. This is part of her job and she does it with such poise and ease. I could not BELIEVE how many people she had to talk with and greet. I would have been too exhausted to even go on to actually do the show.

 

It was also interesting to see Celine's reaction to the woman who saw her 80-something times. To see her try to process that. She actually said to the woman "Can I ask why?" Because she genuinely didn't understand why someone would want to see her over 80 times in the same show. I think it's amazing that Celine still is unaware of how much people actually really do adore her, which is why she is so gracious and grounded to this day.

 

I have to say that this is first time I've ever really gotten a glimpse of the real Celine. Not the Celine that sits and talks with the interviewer and answers the same questions slightly different than the ones she answered before, which slightly differed from the same questions prior...and so on. Not the performing Celine. But the Celine who is genuinely working with the people around her. To see Celine listen and give heartfelt advice to the boy in the wheel chair, for 10 - 15 minutes, and in doing so, changing their lives by giving them that opportunity, can then just walk over to her mirror and finish putting on her make-up without batting an eyelash...is just astonishing me. It's just another night for her. She is a master at how she interacts with fans, co-workers, her work ethic, her home life, as a mother. I just loved watching her in action.

 

And let me just say, that seeing Celine and Rene say goodbye to Rene-Charles before leaving, proves to me that he is one of the luckiest little boys in the world to have such loving and endearing parents. If every son and daughter was treated with such affection, the world would truly be in a better state.

 

I was never able to go to Vegas to see the show, nor have I watched the DVD. I will be experiencing the show this Monday at a nearby theater. Someone expressed earlier their interest in a review from someone who hasn't seen the show LIVE. I'll be sure to give a prompt review.

I just finished watching the DVD, its 3.26 am and im tired, but it was worth it, this DVD showed Céline better than any other video, showed her as a person, and not as a performer, I respect and admire her even more now.

 

I didnt have the opportunity to go LV and see the show, but watching the DVD makes you feel a part of it, its hard to say how much I loved it!

The fan tribute is great, I think every fan that met Céline summed it up by saying what a great inspiration she is.

Like the guy from Brazil, its my dream to speak to Céline in french one day when I meet her. Had so many dreams where I've met Céline, spoken to her, I have no idea how I'd be if it ever came true.

 

Also I'm so glad I wasnt alone in thinking the short cut bleach blonde look was not nice on Céline!!
