"A New Day Has Come" album - Official Topic

The marketing sheet says it's the SECOND title in the Celine Dion Collector's Series, so I'm guessing they will continue to re-release old albums, I just hope the next one won't be Miracle or One heart. We need remastered versions of FIY, TCOML or CD, not the ones released only 3 or 4 years ago . And I agree, this release is pointless without CBS Special. They could have at least include GTSW video.

One might think Céline has just released a Greatest Hits cd and her carreer is going downhill and she's on hiatus - why all this promo for old stuff?! And so little for the actual new - D'Elles and Taking Chances...

 

 

This is making no sence, if doing all this remaster s*** and relelease, go with the old releases which need this (Unision, Celine Dion and older), this is plain stupidity and in vain.

 

And HYEBIL was not released as a single from ANDHC but One Heart!!!

 

However, people will buy it, people bought the TAST "special" edition. Way to go sell outs, now they're releasing a whole line of not-yet-really-old releases.

I like having different editions of Celine's albums...even if this is their way of making more money who cares. They know the fans will buy anything associated with her name. If it's anything like the TAST Collector's Edition, I will be very pleased.

 

FYI>>> Let's Talk About Love is scheduled to be re-released during the second quarter of 2008 according to a very reliable source if it's any consolation. I think people will run like herds for that one.

I like the idea of special editions. I do wish they would include the ANDHC concert, but God knows that Sony is retarded when it comes to these things. I just wish they'd include the G(TSW) video.

Last year FIY had its tenth aniversary... that could have been hughe, with a lot of stuff that we didn't see (making of) or didnt have (video clips in dvd quality) and now they give us this... without even the GTSW video!! -no the full CBS Special (including Aún Existe Amor)

 

-american tracklist! OMG how they are that stupid? There's no Superlove track!

 

-incomplete tracklist: where is Coulda Would Shoulda and All Because Of You?

 

-unreleased/inedit tracks? We know that she recorded near to 30 songs for this album! Couldn't they have added 1?

 

-remixes of IA and ANDHC?

(Will all these songs, CWS and ABOY, remixes and some unreleased songs it would have make a second CD, making it a REAL collectors edition )

There are tons of pictures Céline took in the beach, gardens, at the pool, in swimming costume (yes, remember that picture of Céline in swimming suit from 2002? its from ANDHC photoshoot!) etc that haven't been released. THIS edition would have been a great ocassion to put them

yes i thought that if ever they release ANDHC extra edition they will include the other 20 songs which were rumoured (not all but some of them at least) but now it's strange i'd say

Its unlikely that they would include loads of extra songs but it is normal to include a few extra tracks on remastered albums.

 

Lisa Stansfield's albums were all re-released with 2 or 3 extra b-side tracks - If Sony did that we would all go and buy them. I reckon we would all prefer that to a DVD with stuff we have seen we are all waiting on the big DVD collection of all her videos anyway (whenever that may be)

I wish they would include a few Instrumentals LMAO!!... or acapellas or even that remix Peer Astrom made that was never released, they could have even done a karaoke thing on the dvd like backstreet boys did, basically the songs play and you change the audio format which turns off the vocals!!, how cool would that be! lol

we already have "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" on the OH album, so I don't cae too much about that one.

but what is really annoying is that they do not include Superlove and All Because Of You, as some people already stated.

also, including the unreleased phootage from GTSW video would be an interesting idea ... I mean, if you wanna do something, do it right.

we already have the album and DVD single ... give us a good reason to buy this CD again.

if it just has the standard tracklist, with no new pictures and with no new DVD chapters, then it's just milking money.

 

I hope they really include the videos from ANDHC on the DVD and put at least Superlove on the CD.

FIY was recorded on a 80 minutes CD because the european edition lenghts more than 76 minutes (16 tracks), so they could have added CWS and ABOY. So THIS would have been a real collectors edition, and not what Sony is going to release

-Goodbye's (The Saddest Word) (Radio Edit)

-The Greatest Reward (Extended version)

-A New Day Has Come Megamix (a non-stop long remix of the whole album, or many of the songs, is what its done today with many artists)

-unreleased track #2 (she recorded around 30 songs for this album, so 1 or 2 new songs isn't much to ask! )

Use NEW pictures instead of the brilliant photoshoot that Mr Patrick Demarchelier made in the beach, with the sand, private gardens, inside that house with Céline wearing a swimsuit, dressed all in white, lying in the bed (Aún Existe Amor cd single cover), in the grass with the hat etc. Or add all those pictures in a special booklet.

 

And of course, all the 3 discs released in a decent digipak with plastic trays, not the cheap TAST and TC cardboard "digipaks" that get the cd's scratched

 

Well, dreaming is free , but what is a collector's/deluxe edition now? Will Céline/René/Sony ever learn how things are done?. I bet that even Céline herself doesn't know that a "collectors" edition of her ANDHC album is going to be released the 29 january, with such poor material

Yeah, its a dream but its not impossible. It just takes Céline and René to get more involved and listen more often what the fans want, and of course to leave Sony BMG and go to another label who cares about Céline!

I'll not be buying this if the contents are the same as what I have, I've wasted so much money over the years buying CD's that already have songs I already have on other CD's... and when you try to ask Sony anything they treat you like dirt!, unanswered emails, short 1 worded emails and emails slagging you off to other employees when they forget they send it to you also!!... after all we're their customers and they create fans, so its their responsibility to keep their customers happy....

 

This is were the lable really annoys me!, its like they don't care at all about their customers... but when they have a druged up artist instead of sacking them like any other employer would they keep them on and pretend not to hear anything!!!!! what the hell, it just shows they care about nothing else other than money and the quality of their releases and re-releases is REALLY slipping both artistically, and visually!

 

From now on I'll not be buying any CD or DVD that already has stuff I have on other releases, its pointless!, if you really think about it even from a collectors point of view it does nothing!... these CD's are so heavily mass produced as soon as you buy it the value drops... within 6 months of a release they are selling for like 50pence on ebay... so its not like their unique or anything so putting "Collectors Editon" on this stuff is so stupid!

Of course its their responsability. We buy the cds. And when we buy them its supposed to be for something with minimum quality. What they pretend with this collectors edition if it includes the same contents of the CD alone, the DVD single and the special edition? The only new thing is ONE videoclip. Just that (and what videoclip ).

 

Now they don't even have money to put plastic trays on the packaging.

 

I don't understand what happened between Céline and Sony since 2002. It all started with the third single of ANDHC, that was released in very few places. Since that, all things went bad, not to mention her bubble era in Las Vegas.

But Céline should have a team that worked hard with her releases, and put all their best with each material. But they are doing things with Céline with so much apathy and laziness. How are they surprised with piracy then?

Maybe the Vegas bubble has something to do with it! Maybe Sony didn't want to invest in an artist that would be stuck in one place for 3 years. The problem is though that sony still thinks that Celine is the same milking cow as she was in the 90ies. But times (unfortunatly) have changed, and people won't rush to the stores to buy her (new) cd(s) just because they heard the name Celine Dion. Releasing LTAL before the holidays was a great stunt in 97. But back then, it had a lot of promotion (including posters!!!), but last year, nothing was to see! But I also blame Celine and her team they could have demanded more exposure, and Céline could have sung different songs on Oprah. Let's just hope that the new CBS special won't give us an Oprah part deux
