Is Celine the best-selling female so far this decade?

If we go by the Sony figures, it's 13M for ANDHC + 15M bet. 2003-2007 + majority of the sales for ATW.

 

So is Celine the highest female seller since the start of the NEW MILLENIUM? Or has Britney sold more?

 

Alicia supposedly sold 20M with her first 3 albums. I'm in the dark as to Norah's overall sales but Time magazine said before that "Come Away With Me" moved 16 or 17M copies worldwide.

I think, there was an article stating that Celine is the best-selling artist for the decade and that would mean, aince it's 2007 now, they started counting from 1997. So Celine is the best-selling artist of the decade.

 

But if we start from 2000, ( should we start at 2000 or 2001? I think, 2000 cos the past decade started 1990 and should end at 1999.) I think, it's Eminem and Britney who's leading.

she cant have sold that close to celine surely? i mean probably one of the reasons celine IS the biggest selling female artist is because she has the equivelant of TWO careers worth of sales joined together. Her english and french careers. Its like Mariah Carey releasing two brand new albums every time instead of one. So really Celines circumstances as a francaphone have served her well!

I have to be honest and say that I am not sure if Celine Dion is the best selling artist of the decade. However, I do know that Celine Dion is the BIGGEST SELLING FEMALE ARTIST IN HISTORY. That's right, NOT Mariah, NOT Madonna.....CELINE. Get it right people!!!! And as for Britney Spears, that girl cannot sing for worth s***. Why she is even considered an "artist" or "singer" is beyond me? No matter what, none of the artist throughout this decade will match the talent or success of Celine Dion.

Put me in jail but I don't think anyone really knows who is the biggest selling female artist. Every artist put this while promoting a new album or whatever... it's just a promotion. Cause if you listen careful for example to Oprah... she once says Celine is the biggest selling female artist and after that says that Mariah is the biggest selling female artist and after that it's Madonna...and it's not only Oprah, almost everybody do this... so nobody can tell us which one is the biggest selling.

At least we know which are the 3 biggest selling female artists (Celine, Mariah and Madonna).

"1 Fille Et 4 Types" quietly went into different markets, so it quietly sold quite as more copies as expected. I remember here in Costa Rica every single record store carried that, which was totally unusual for a French album. Even supermarkets carried that title.
