teetee Posted August 25, 2006 at 03:06 PM Posted August 25, 2006 at 03:06 PM No, I don't think she can pull it off like Celine, not even Shania. Don't feel they have the same energy and stage presence like Celine.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> though shania probably has the weakest voice compare to martina & faith, she probaby is the only one that could pull it off. Many of her songs are upbeat and she sure can entertain the audience judging by watching her live concert DVDs, to top it off she's one of a few female artists who won CMA entertainer of the year. and she could deliver ballad stuffs too when needed. And since most of her songs aren't that demanding, vocal wise, I dont think she'd have problem singing 5 nights a week. And people wont expect the best vocal from her like people would do with Celine so she might be able to get away on some bad nights as long as it's not way off. A New Day Has Come Posted April 17, 2007 at 02:47 AM Posted April 17, 2007 at 02:47 AM I like her alot to she has some good stuff and is a good royal model for younger girls as well Quote
smw Posted April 17, 2007 at 06:06 AM Posted April 17, 2007 at 06:06 AM I think she's a natural performer with a strong voice. It's very one tone though--which is something many singers seem to have a problem with. But I think she's a nice person, with both beauty and ability. I think the CD before this most recent one was her greatest one yet. (with the re-make of classic songs) Quote
Love, Posted April 17, 2007 at 07:40 AM Posted April 17, 2007 at 07:40 AM (edited) I love Martina McBride. Many of her songs leave me feeling blessed, full of hope, inspired and emotionally satistified.I feel energized! It was because of Martina McBride over 13 years ago that I began my passion for music. Her songs "The Way That I Am" and "Independence Day" touched my heart in so many places. That was also the same year that I was introduced to Faith Hill. Coincidentally, Faith and Martina are best friends. I am looking forward to the beginning of this August, when I will see Martina live for the very first time! And in a few days, the pianist named Jim Brickman (who performed "Valentine" with her) will be headlining a concert in my city, and I have 3rd row! That was an amazing performance. I love the way she delivered it, like she really believed what she was singing. firebird Posted April 19, 2007 at 09:33 PM Posted April 19, 2007 at 09:33 PM Here's a beautiful performance of Anyway (with an original reproduction of the Celine-All-By-My-Self-Movement lol) It's better than the Idol performance. I like how she just steps out and sings her song - no gimmicks, no flash lights - and it's acoustic too. Really good. Quote
raymondedwin Posted April 20, 2007 at 03:18 AM Posted April 20, 2007 at 03:18 AM she is superb. genuine. someone mentioned this earlier ... but my favorite song of her is also "from the ashes." listen to it if you can. really. so moving. inspiring. Quote

firebird Posted April 21, 2007 at 12:46 PM Posted April 21, 2007 at 12:46 PM O dear, I wasn't that deep into her music so I heard Love's The Only House for the first time today. I can't believe that was a hit. It's awful. Quote
LVCeline Posted April 21, 2007 at 03:35 PM Posted April 21, 2007 at 03:35 PM O dear, I wasn't that deep into her music so I heard Love's The Only House for the first time today. I can't believe that was a hit. It's awful. Yeah, that's surely not her best song, and not a favorite of mine either. She has some incredible songs though, and her voice is a real powerhouse. She's kind of like Lara Fabian, she is such an incredible live performer, and belts like no tomorrow and never misses a note, and never has an off performance (that I've seen). I would encourage you to listen to more of her music. Her greatest hits album is awesome, and full of great, powerful songs. Quote
firebird Posted April 21, 2007 at 03:40 PM Posted April 21, 2007 at 03:40 PM (edited) So far I've heard Timeless which I think is great and the new album which is like 80% great, and a live bootleg from 2000 which is good too, + a few other songs. I wouldn't compare her to Lara Fabian, Lara's music is kind of self-centered (about herself, dealing with her "inner demons"), while Martina's looks to me more as telling about "the ordinary people's lives" Edited April 21, 2007 at 03:41 PM by solaris Quote
