Cancelled show in Halifax

Rene is not just a manager of Celine, but also her husband. No one can take his wife into a complicated situation. Security first! If I were Rene, I would also decide to cancel the appearance first no matter how the public would critisize Celine. That's a responsibility of a husband.

He didn't even have to go on the air with this. It was very easy to see why it was cancelled, and anyone in Halifax wondering why would need to be living under a rock to not know.

Rene spoke very nicely of a city that rejected Celine, stating they had played there 4 times already, and would be willing to one day play there again. It's just not the right time now, with this kind of reaction. This is very understandable! Perhaps after the naysayers in Hali grow up, and respect the music taste of everyone, they can return so Celine fans in Hali can see her for a 5th time.

I was so excited to hear that Celine was going to play in Halifax - I love her voice and her personality - she is so sweet. I have never had the chance before in Halifax to see her perform in Halifax. I am not impressed with the bad words etc. from people and the media of Halifax - not everyone likes ROCK - I do, I saw the Stones twice, but it is not for everyone and why should it always be ROCK - Celine is a fellow canadian and one wonderful singer/entertainer - Halifax loses once again ....... oh well I hope to see Celine somewhere someday

It's all over the news here in Canada and Perez has posted about it on his blog. What an embarasment for my city to have pushed away the top female artist of our times. The people of the city wanted to be able to boost the city so we can get more acts here. Well this certainly certainly will not be helping at all since it's out everywhere. At first it was just a local thing. However now it's much bigger.

Like I've said before there have been people defending her. We're doing the best that we can, however I can't be on these forums etc day and night. I have things to do, like a job and friends etc. I have made comments defending her etc but there's so many nasty comments. What are us fans supposed to do other then post comments defending her and supporting her when they are louder then we are.

I honestly can't believe the things that I am reading on here. Some people really must have some miserable pathetic lives that they have to turn their anger towards Celine and her fans. I mean really now it's time to get over yourselves and shut the hell up. You've ruined the best concert we would have had this summer because with the way that you are acting and having this go across the counrty and into the industry world you can be sure that big acts won't be begging to play here. For once in your life stop being selfish and if you don't want to go to a concert then do like the rest of us and don't buy tickets.

As for the Quebec City concert. Just drop it already. It's a celebration for their 400th and she only 1 of many guests. She's not doing her full concert. Some of you really have absolutely no clue whatsoever about the entertainment business. I mean honestly you don't think that they have more then one stage when they travel the world. You think she can't make it from Quebec City to halifax in one day. have any of you ever heard of plans? I mean honestly now if you really read your comments you'd see how ridiculous you are being.

Some have mentioned that her fans are loosers.... of don't even get me started on this subject because you'll all be sorry.

You have all gone far enough. You're the ones to blame and there is no other excuse. So get over you're high horse and stop dragging this city's name into the mud as you haven't done it any good. Perhaps next time you'll think twice about the actions that you take because they say what goes around comes around so mark my words this will come to bite you big time and I will have absolutely no pitty whatsoever as you'll all have deserved it.

There are several people from Halifax who claimed that the reason they're being fussy is because the land is their "Central Park." One single performance of Celine will bring so many people to that park, it will ruin the turf, and cost them lots of tax dollars to replant their green lawns!

 

That's the biggest load of manure I've ever read lately...

 

There are so many stadiums, arenas, and auditoriums around the world that are co-owned by their respective city government. There is always a budget for maintenance for facilities.

 

I'm sure that most Celine fans would be courtesy, at peace, and would not do anything to destroy or hurt the grounds of the Common, unlike, maybe: hard rock fans who might be drunk, spitting Skoal chewing tobaccos, squishing cigarette butts into the soil with their boots, and littering the crap out of the place! :whistling:

Haha I cant believe theyre talking about this on Radio 1 so funny - if u havnt been hearing it go and listen to scott mills' show again! He told everyone about how shed cancelled the gig, in a sarcastic way and has just made things soooooo much worse for her in the UK ! Now everyones ringing up saying where they also dont want her to play....basically everywhere in the country rang up....and scott mills keeps saying....sorry celine yr not wanted in dublin either...etc....so funny - its been going on for 45 mins....theyre now calling it celine dion half hour.

 

Also this fan rang up to defend her and did an awful job! haha she didnt even know the name of TC she was just like 'the new one' and shed seen it on X factor...then said "i think she was miming tho which i wasnt happy about" but um....X Factor! Imfamously live performance! so at least someone thought it was good enough haha.

 

But yeh listen to it if u can stand it. its quite funny in an awful way

I am 100% sure she has a valid reason for cancelling the show, no matter what the media says. I am sorry for the people from Halifax, I know how dissapointed I'd be.

I don't think it's funny either. Like she did it because she wanted to be cruel. That is ridiculous.
