I was wondering if anyone else thought that it was wrong to be obsessed with Celine?

My pastor has told me that I am obsessed with Celine and it is unhealthy. However, she thinks I am obsessed with everyone including her. I guess I really have no life if I am obsessed with everyone!

But on a more serious note, your pastor has told you that you are "obsessive with everyone including her" - do you spend alot of time talking with her or trying to talk with her about anything and everything?

I do talk to her about stuff but not all the time.

It is possible that your pastor may see something in your behavior that concerns her... or it might be that she just doesn't have the patience to just listen - which I sense is really what you want from her. Is she one of your role models? I know you mentioned, in another topic, that you plan to become a minister. Do you think of her as someone who can guide you?

And specially coz I'm very miser, and everytime someone talks to me about doing something expensive I say: Hey, I could buy a lot of cd's or dvd's with that money!!!

I tend to be clingy and annoying too... so I can understand where you're coming from.

I'm like that also. Everybody say's that I'm obssessed with Celine, (I get kind of annoying when I talk about her too much :wub: ). Its right what you say because everybody has something in their lives that they LOVE very much. ^_^

If it's wrong, I don't want to be right! I think there is a level of fanaticism that is acceptable. I'd only be concerned if someone was being harmful either to themself or to their obsession. Sounds like your pastor would think I have problems too, lol.

be sure that she is the right role model and that the path is the right one for you... while others may guide us... the path that each of us is to follow is always ours to walk... we cannot walk someone else's path ...

I kind of know where you're coming from. My parents don't have a problem with me being a fan of Celine Dion, but they seem to have a big problem of me being into my favorite American Idol finalist, Anthony Fedorov. Ok so maybe I did fly across the country three times to meet him and see him perform. HOWEVEr I would NEVER want to camp out on his front lawn, buy a piece of food that he has taken a bite out of, or all those scary freakishly things. Sure I have a pic of him and me as my cellphone wallpaper, and autographs and pictures of him and me on my fireplace mantle, but that's normal isn't it? Besides I've made friens through his fanclub members and even gotten to know his personal friends quite well, and his own dad knew who I was right off the bat when I met him. He came up to me and whole heartidly thanked me. Maybe they just don't like me being so into guys? *shrugs*. But hey, that's normal, I'm a girl!

Usually it's ok to be obsessed with something as long as it's not causing any problems or disruptions in your life and it's not some unhealthy obsession like drug use. Most famous creative people were obsessed with something, whether it be Albert Einstein, Beethoven or whoever.

At least Celine is a GREAT role model for someone. It's not like your obsesesd with Charles Manson (bad obsession!) or anything. :bye1:

Celine's obsessed with shoes herself! :lmao: nothing wrong with being obsessed about something. i know my whole family was mad at me in 2005 cuz i was just overly nuts about Celine. but now, mum's okay with it since i brought her to the listening party the other day. maybe you should try letting your pastor watch The Recording Sessions of TC and see what she says about that :P

OMgosh I had such a long conversation with a friend about this the other day. He tried to light one of my candles I'd bought from AND that I have in my room and I started to give him utmost hell for it. Basically he thought I was mucho over the top insane with my Celine Dion obsession.. But I guess the thing is for me, that I don't see it as anything unhealthy, I mean it definitely doesn't get in the way of me living my life, but it's like a hobby! People play golf, I buy Celine Dion coasters. it works! People have to direct their energy somewhere, and if it's Celine Dion, then all the better for you than if you were like. making a hobby out of hash brownies or something. But strangely enough, I had something of the same conversation with my own pastor. But personally, if you know where your priorities lie, it's not something that should be a problem. ^_^

From the age of 12-19 I used to be VERY obsessed with Celine. She was pretty much my life... I was in love with her or something hahaha. Occupied most of my time and thoughts. I annoyed everyone and everyone thought I was sad but... she kept me happy! I'm an obsessive person though. I have about a million and one obsessions. I'm pretty much over the Celine thing now though. It's just a healthy appreciation. I have other things in my life now. True I'm obsessed with about 5 things right now but I have plenty of friends and a busy social life. It's fine. Edited by incognito

My friend says I'm crazy. But I don't care. Everyone needs something to hold on with their life, don't they? Celine's the best in the world. As long as the obsession doesn't harm me or my parents, I'll keep loving her!

So long as it is not a religious obsession and that your commitment to God comes before Celine, then its is ok in the eyes of the Lord! Ok, well personally I don't believe in this but I know you have strong religious beliefs. Just as long as it doesn't rule your life or have great influence on what you do in daily life it should be ok
