Cheerfuljane Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM Posted November 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM There are many ways to see the Grand Canyon:AirplaneHelicopterRiver RaftingHikingetc. If you`re on time constraints I`d recommend an Airplane flight over the Grand Canyon. It`s not cheap but 100% worth it. The cheapest I`ve found is $105 from http://www.looktours.com/air3.htmlandhttp://www.allgrandcanyontours.com/Body.as...age=TourDetails Next is $119 from:http://www.grandcanyon.com/granddiscovery.html There`s also:http://www.grandcanyontourcompany.com/airtour.htmlhttp://www.lasvegasgrandcanyontour.com/air...im-air-tour.htm I`m considering taking a flight on 15 December.Anyone want to join me? Cheerfuljane Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:00 AM Author Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:00 AM Yip - you`re right Elaine - this is a once in a lifetime experience. I`d highly recommend that everyone try and make a plan to do it. So far 2 tours have replied saying that they only discount their rates for a group of 15 or more. Quote
Bellamy Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:33 PM Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:33 PM I guess a plane like that could hold about 15 people? So they maybe only give discount if you can fill the whole plane. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
Cheerfuljane Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:52 PM Author Posted November 18, 2007 at 01:52 PM Some of them have planes that take around 30. So far no luck. It looks like we might have to go with the $105 one mentioned before. I'm not giving up just yet Quote
Bellamy Posted November 18, 2007 at 03:10 PM Posted November 18, 2007 at 03:10 PM I hope we can get 10%-20% discount somewhere. And do we have to preorder it on internet first? Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

Del Posted November 18, 2007 at 04:10 PM Posted November 18, 2007 at 04:10 PM I have booked a trip to the grand canyon on December 13th. I booked with senic airlines. There are several tours available but this is the one that I decided to take. It is a bit pricey but I was told that it's all worth it. http://www.scenic.com/saws1gc_grand_voyager.htm Quote Instagram: @delphis78

Cheerfuljane Posted November 18, 2007 at 05:23 PM Author Posted November 18, 2007 at 05:23 PM It probably goes a lot further so you see more of the Canyon. The one that is $105 is just around the South (or West?) rim.I did the South rim in January. It was brilliant. No need to see more.In my humble opinion Quote
Bellamy Posted November 18, 2007 at 05:36 PM Posted November 18, 2007 at 05:36 PM Yes they all ask for full payment at the time of booking Payday on the 30th How many days in advance? Cheerfuljane Posted November 19, 2007 at 06:22 PM Author Posted November 19, 2007 at 06:22 PM We could just take a chance and wait until we get to Vegas to book it.There are SOOO many different companies that fly out to the canyon so I'm sure we won't have too much hassle. Quote
Elaine Posted November 19, 2007 at 10:45 PM Posted November 19, 2007 at 10:45 PM I think we should wait till we get there so we can decide together! Quote http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/1352/opo3.jpg

hope77 Posted November 21, 2007 at 11:09 PM Posted November 21, 2007 at 11:09 PM My brother and I are also going to Las Vegas on the 14th Dec, going to Celine's concert on the 15th (the very last concert!) and then we are thinking of visiting the Grand Canyon on the 16th. I've been told that it's much better to go by helicopter rather than by airplane. You may feel too dizzy when travelling by airplane. I've checked through the Internet and prices are more or less the same. We will book the visit through the Internet in a few days. Would anyone like to join us? We could always get in touch. Regards from Spain. Quote

LD1977 Posted November 30, 2007 at 09:18 PM Posted November 30, 2007 at 09:18 PM (edited) Hi guys, I went to the canyon by helicopter and yes, it is quite expensive, but so much better than by plane... The plane cannot go really low, so you see the Canyon from high in the sky. You dont get a good feeling about how deep it actually is. The helicopter goes really low... The moment that you fly over the edge of the canyon and see the mountains underneath you, is an amazing experience. We also flew over Lake Las Vegas (where Céline lives) and the Strip. Maybe its worth to try to e-mail some companies and ask if they do group-tours at a special price? Enclosed two pics that I took inside of the helicopter! Good luck! I was looking out the window of the plane.... seeing the helicopters waaaaayyyy down below and thinking.."I should actually have taken a helicopter coz they can go deeper into the canyon..." Quote
