But what "hits"? She hasn't had a true English hit since That's The Way It Is. A New Day Has Come and Have You Ever Been In Love are as close as it gets - but those were only hot AC tracks.

 

Don't get me wrong - there have been some fantastic English songs since her comeback, but none of them were radio hits.

Oh, of course she can release another compliation or the Collector's Series II, but I think we talk here about another studio one.

well a new day has come did reach #22 on the hot 100 based on airplay only. it was the last time i heard a celine song on the radio.

 

i never heard ANYTHING from one heart or the subsequent albums and even now with taking chances.

 

a new day has come was her final big year in the mainstream US but even then it was connected to that payola scandal with goodbye's the saddest word. LAME >_<

 

yet regardless she still manages to sell millions worldwide hehe

I think she will have an album like All the way... a few new song and a few old songs. And then she will take a break. I know she will release something, maybe a dvd from the Taking Chances world tour!

i always think about this and i don't know what shell do. im sure after the world tour is over shell want a break. well obviously she needs one! its not easy to keep going. 5 years and a world tour is very tiring. I'm sure shell try to have a baby and i hope she gets pregnant shes deserves it, what better mother than Celine. i fear that shell take a long break becuz i love her to much. not having Celine around is so hard. But i just wish her and her family the best health possible and long happy lives. I love you Celine! whatever decision shell make ill support her!!

I think, Celine will release a new Christmas album on November 2008.

 

Celine will/should take a rest first after her Taking Chances World Tour which ends at January 30, 2009. Hopefully, a total of 5 singles are officially released from the TC album before the tour ends. ( Taking Chances, Alone, A World To believe In, This Time and Can't Fight The Feelin' )

 

Then Celine will release a new english album on her birthday in March, 2009.

 

Then Celine will release a french album on October, 2009.

but i really think she needs a break after vegas and the tour ....so it will be a lve cd/dvd of the tour may 09

With Celine really anything is possible. I think that this tour is going to prove if she can continue on and still be a singer or if shes done. This tour is a massive amount of travelling and truly going to be grueling...especially when it comes to the US part of the tour. I think it might be like A New Day Has Come....where we get an album but not really a tour or anything to go along with it.....yeah we got Vegas but not really anything that explored the album..ya know. As David Foster once said, "....Celine is a champion and like any true champion one day in the near future shes going to say (rubs hands together) thats it Im done..." I believe that might be the way it is. She'll retire and we will hear from here from time to time but not the same as we have in the past. i think she's taking a lot more risks as shes getting older with her look as well as her sound. There will be a lot more risks to come and I think its going to be magic!!!

I was surprised that Celine and her team went the way they did with Taking Chances (especially in light of the fact that they are taking NO chances as far as singles go). After hearing her sing Summertime at the Jerry Lewis Telethon, I imagined that she, like many other artists have done, would record an album of "standards". Since Taking Chances has been such a flop, perhaps they will go that way next time. Her core audience is, arguably, an older generation and a "standards" album would probably sell fantastic. She could also do a Broadway album like Streisand did and I imagine it would sell to her audience as well.

 

I don't expect another album after this tour though. I didn't expect another album and tour after A New Day... so I am pleasantly surprised that we got one. I expect a break from her.

When Celine was still in Las Vegas during A New Day... I did not think she would record new albums. So, I was a bit surprised D'elles and Taking Chances were recorded... But I am not complaining though! I am very content with Taking Chances and the sound contained therein... Although I wish Map to My Heart and The Reason I Go On could have been included in the US version of the album.

 

Only time will tell as to what Celine will do after the tour ends in January 2009. We all know Celine wants to take time off and spend time with her family. We also know Celine might want to try to have a second baby. She has also said she wants to portray Maria Callas on video. There are also rumors that Celine might return to Las Vegas and do a very short engagement.

 

Honestly, I think Celine has given her fans so much of herself already. Celine needs to think of herself and her family first and foremost. She needs to take a break and live a more normal life.

 

Celine came back from her break, recorded A New Day Has Come, performed for nearly 5 years in Las Vegas, gave us new albums in French and English, and is doing a year-long world tour... Is that not enough?

 

Then again, before we know it, January 2009 will come and go, and we will see what Celine will do. However, I do not foresee another album in English until at least 2012-2015.

i think they should release the follow-up to TCSV1, since celine is gonna take a break. and she's still in sony, they probably would release another cash grab compilation.

I agree with the idea thats shes with Sony and shes been making money for them for years...they arent gonna let her go....I trly think they had something to do with this tour......because the schedule is insane...especially in the US!

 

Who knows whats next......we all have to just hang on and wait to see whats to come. Its going to be an interesting year and In up for the ride.

OMG ....that would be awesome......we have heard from Rene in the past that Celine can play classical piano, write music, and produce...but she wont admit it..LOL We all know she can write....she wrote that sone for Anne-Rene's wedding. if we could just see that it would be amazing......Shes to talented to just sing.
