Celine getting sick is nothing to worry majorly about, my doctor said that it is normal for everyone to get a cold/flu of some kind every six weeks so she's done pretty well considering during this whole tour. We saw a reschedule in Australia and she done pretty well between March/April to October/November. I suppose this is just her version of "calling in sick to work", it's just a shame for those who won't be able to attend Hope she's stocking up on the Lemsip and Cold and Flu tablets. Hope everyone can make the rescheduled date

Celinedion.com are never up to date LOL. And the article said that at this stage, all other shows are going ahead as scheduled.

Celinedion.com probably won't post about it until AEG Live issues a press release.

I think you're right, Denelle. There's probably no reason to panic, everyone gets sick, but since she uses her vocal chords a lot, it's a bit more of a problem for her than the average person. Like right now, I've been off work for a week because my knee is messed up. It would be fine if I sat at a desk all day, but since my job involves constantly moving around, I can't work. Things happen

They usually post "news" like that to fill the space on weekend only, not real news.

Hi Sarah!! I thought you were near the catwalk in Section 2 (my tickets are there as well). Did you buy TeamCéline discount tickets?? Because, I don't think mine are exchangeable to get better seats. What section / seats are better than Section 2, Row 10, Seats 3 & 4 (which are what I have). I'd gladly try to get better seats too! Please help! Thanks!

Just a little dissapointed, but it happens...everyone gets sick. At least the concert was rescheduled...and it will be right before Christmas...so it will be kind of like spending the holiday's with Celine.

I don't care if it's the weekend or what, they should let people know ASAP...I mean it is Monday today after all...the show is supposed to be tomorrow...it's rude to wait so long!

Yeah, they should have posted the cancellation/reschedule on celinedion.com right away, but as we all know that's not surprising for that website. That's why I have yet to renew my membership with them!

Guys, it doesn't say anywhere on the official site that the show is postoponed! And a friend of mine bought tickets for the concert yesterday and she still thinks it's on the original date!

I read on the official site about the Minneapolis show being postponed, but not the Chicago one, how can one be 100% sure what's the case here?

I totally agree. Someone should call the venue. It's not yet posted on the venue's website or celinedion.com OR AEG or ticketmaster. Maybe someone from Chicago paper got some misinformation. This is going to confuse a LOT of people ethier way. Edited November 3, 2008 at 09:35 AM by autumnskies00

It's odd AEG Live was cited as the source in the Chicago article, but AEG doesn't have any news about it on their site yet, just the Minneapolis show. Maybe they'll have something up this afternoon, since everything happened over the weekend.

That is weird that they still haven't announced it! Either she needs to use her millions to hire someone to update her darn website, or the paper that reported this needs to be in trouble! I cancelled my hotel reservation based on the article in the Chicago Sun Times and rescheduled the stay for the 16th. Now, I'm nervous since TeamCéline hasn't announced the postponement ;-(

If it's absolutely true, it's for the best since Céline has been ill and the Obama rally is taking place that night.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. If the United Center says it's moved, then it's moved....I was starting to worry for a second wondering if it was really on. Somebody at celinedion.com needs to be fired...they can take the time to post about the new wallpaper, yet they don't have the decency to give fans a 36-hour warning that the show is postponed???

CHICAGO CONCERT SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH POSTPONED DUE TO ILLNESS

November 3 , 2008

 

AEG Live have just announced that Celine Dion has been forced to postpone her concert in Chicago scheduled for this coming Tuesday, November 4th at the United Center. Celine has been battling a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection for the past week, diagnosed by her physician, a leading ear-nose-throat specialist in Montreal, who has instructed her to refrain from singing for the next 5 days in order to completely recover.

 

Celine's concert in Chicago has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th. Tickets purchased for the originally scheduled concert on Tuesday, November 4th will be honored for the rescheduled show date. Fans who are unable to attend the rescheduled concert date can obtain a refund at their original point of purchase.

 

Celine's next show on her Taking Chances World Tour on Friday, November 7th at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

Actually, when I asked him about Céline's concert for the 4th, he said, "It's cancelled." I waited approximately two seconds and asked, "You mean it's been postponed?" And he replied, "Yes." When he didn't say anything else, I asked, "Can you tell me what the new date is?" Geez, it was like pulling teeth to get info out of him and each time he responded it was short and rude.
