According to this article, Celine would have recorded Simply The Best (originally by Tina Turner) yesterday in France.

Does somebody know for what reason?

Guys, from what I understand, she didn't record it. It's just a witty remark from the writer, because she was doing all that stuff in a single day, so she should record like an ode to herself, cause she's Simly the Best... Anyway, maybe a native French speaker can figure this out, but that's the way I understood.

And if she did record it, then why did she? It's surely not for a new album? Maybe a Tina Turner tribute album or something? A story to be followed. The article also mentions there'll be a much bigger article in a Quebec paper tomorrow.

It says it remains for her to sing that. Saying that she needs to sing it for her career because she's the best.

 

She did not record it, but the author says that because she's the best...she should!

One of my friend is in Paris and just called me. She got in studio last night to record the song and it will be part of a TV show taped tonight in Paris. They needed a person to do Celine in the rehersals to make sure the lights were fine and all so a fan jumped on the stage and they played the 3 songs Celine will lip tonight: TC, Immensité and Simply the best which he told me was very very similar as Turners original version.

 

Its kinda disapoiting that shell lip Simply the best but if she took the time to get in studio to record it its because she got good reasons for it i guess...

If this is true then by playing her version of Simply The Best they've basically admitted she went to a studio to record a song to use as playback at a later date. It's the first time ever they've said they did that kind of thing. How strange!

After reading the article again, I agree that the author seems to say that recording Simply the best should have been the last thing she did yesterday because of her hectic schedule., meaning it was the only thing missing. But now, if she recorded it for a TV show...well I'm confused...

That'c cool! Well, she does have the Vegas shows to do, remember? Her voice has to be on for the last shows in Vegas.
