The only negative thing I have to say is that I was surrounded by some boring middle-aged people who stayed on their seats for the whole show. A man in front of me didn't even clap his hands when a song ended! He put his hands on his ears in stead! That's what he did every time the audience made some noise. It only made me scream even louder! A couple of people (including this man) eventually asked me to be quiet. I just nodded and kept on screaming. I didn't let those people spoil my night.

I got that too...literally just two minutes after the show had started (the first song ffs! ) a middle-aged woman behind me tapped me on the shoulder and told me to sit down. I remember thinking "Oh God...my last show on this tour and I'm going to have someone like that behind me". There was an empty seat in our row so the girls next to me moved one seat up so I followed which meant I got someone else beghind me; a girl my age. I asked her if it was okay that I stood and she went "sure" but eventually, she too asked me to sit down, going "there's a screen by the edge of the stage, you can watch on that". Yeah, that's really what I want. Seriously, why don't people like that just buy the DVD and watch it in the comfort of their own homes. Neither said anything after that though because Céline kept telling everyone to get out of their seats and stand up, haha. :P I don't get people like that though, I really don't.

I know I feel you're pain, it's so annoying I was next to some very sedate people in Melbourne that looked at us every time we yelled, it was like it was a chore for them to sit through a Celine Dion concert I don't get it

So help me if that happens to me in LA I will put those people back into their place

I can't believe how fast this tour is flying by :(

Amazing pics and footage everybody, thank you for sharing :flowers:

I pusched the wrong button, this topic was supposed to end up in the Stockholm thread. I don´t know how to move it, so I hope someone else can do it. Sorry about that, hope nobody gets mad : )

Do you think all those odd people got free tickets? They seemed not to be excited to see Celine in person at all. They sat like robots. I think nobody would sit still if they paid for expensive tickets.

Actually, I thought about this as well. In My section (which was the TC one), the front row was filled up with businesslike men in suits and middle-aged women with Louis Vuitton bags. There was a couple of younger people but they were dressed up like hell so I'm guessing it was some kind of business get-together. Which pisses me off more than a little. The only exception on that row was a man in a Hawaii kinda shirt who got as close to the stage as he could gave Céline thumbs up and then went back to his seat with a huge grin on his face. :P

Maybe these businessmen-like people are the sponsors. So they got free tickets and were not in at all.

Any idea?

we were having drinks in Café Nova (Gamla Stan) when we saw Dominique, Mary-Lou and Marc (they were in a bar/cafe next to us). Mary-Lou had a Japanese massage on the street and obviously told Marc how amazing that was, coz he decided to take a 25min treatment too. Marc looked so happy after the 25min massage...lol. :D

Thank you Anu for sharing the recordings of the soundcheck!!!

We were able to hear the soundcheck in Berlin very well as it was an open air venue but I haven't even tried to record it because I've been with some other people and the recording would be pretty noisy because of us and because of all the other people - there was a huge crowd waiting for the doors to get opeeed... So any recording would sound very noisy und unpleasant, I'm sure... :(

Hi,

I really don´t care, cause I think this concert in Stockholm was amazing. But I´m curious, I read in another thread here that Céline lipsynced some of the songs on some of the conerst, is that true? Do you think she did that in Stockholm? If she did that I almost think it´s wrong to call it a live concert, if it is live then ALL songs should be live, especially concidering the high ticket prices. That´s how I feel.

I think in regards to people wanting fans to sit down it could possibly be valid! I just attended a concert recently and the people in front of us stood up the entire night! Obviously I don't expect them to sit down the whole time, but when everyone else is sitting down, the people behind you can't see! There isn't any reason to stand up if nobody else is. I think it's incredibly rude to stand up and block people's view if the people in front of you are sitting down and you are able to see sitting down!

Review from Expressen by Sweden's most respected media reporter Anders Björkman. (And indeed Frida, the only journalist Expressen(or any Swedish media) has who can be called 'a true journalist'). This guy has been around for a while.

I know I didn't pay much attention to Sebbaboa's article quoting lessons, so this is not the way it "should" be layout wise. :giggle:

Powerful, but one soon gets tired.

Celine Dion

Globen, Stockholm

:) No pause, 100 straight minutes

:( Was the grand piano out of tune?

Big singer, sparkling show, enthusiastic audience, but personally I am surprisingly not too moved.

The show is suggestive, elegantly directed and the stage is an enormous cube with audience on four sides. It is a piece of engineering art, which moves up and down and to the sides. There ride musicians, backing vocals and eight acrobatic dancers.

Celine Dion stands on an elevated cube on the cube, when she for the first time lets loose the great voice. The fans recognizes each song and she shows the notorious gestures. Pat on the hip, long arm straight up and the big hands with the long fingers.

It feels powerful to start with, but I grow tired fast. Here are no nuances, she lets the valuable voice roar, the orchestra rumbles too hard and the same sound carpet stays on.

She also misses nuances when she speaks. French drama meets Las Vegas-acting and I don’t believe for one second neither the words nor the tears.

She skillfully does a number by Robert Wells, who pretends to descend from the grandstand and plays piano, just like he does in a song on her album.

But her recap of the incredible moments in the studio with Robert becomes a roar of laughter which somewhat peals off the edge of the song, where she sings only to piano comp and actually shows that she knows what nuances are.

And yes, the Titanic-song comes as well - when the audience has applauded for so long that she has time for a sixth clothing change.

But the magical stage, it was something really extra.

I cant believe this review. How can he say these things. I totally diagree!!!!!!!!!
