tezz Posted June 9, 2008 at 05:36 AM Posted June 9, 2008 at 05:36 AM Hi you all, This saturday was my first time seeing Celine, and hopefully not my last, I just have to see her again : ) I had great seats, row four on the floor just infront of the stage so I was less than 10 meters away from her, it felt at first so unreal, I could´t belive it was her. But after a while I got a family feeling, it felt like Celine, the band, the dancers and us fans, the audience was a family and I loved that feeling. She sounded as amazing as I thought, not all artist deliver live and sound like on the records, but she really did, and she didn´t sound tired at all in the end of the show. I´m so happy to have been able to see one of the best entertainters of our time. I loved all the song, especially the emotional perfomence of My Love, I got tears in my eyes, then I saw in the end Celine had tears, then I got even more tears *laugh* And the audience reaction after the song, well let´s just say I was so moved by that. I got some good pictures of the show I will post later on this week. The last thing I wanted to say was that in the row infront of me a guy sat that I thougt I recognized, and I kept thinking, could it be him, the brazilian guy from the live in las vegas dvd, he that are so cute and really is into to the songs. And when the concert started I knew it was him, noone live into the songs like him : ) Fun to see him. Does anybody know if he is on this forum? Or have his e-mail adress or something, just wanted to say hi and tell him I saw him. lot´s of lovetezz Quote

Yeah, that was me...you were inf ront row then? I'm checking youtube but no videos of BYLM yet...but we have a bootleeeeeeeeg!! Can you hear her saying "thank you"? I know I sound like a total SCF but OMG!! As for the Swedish reviews; they looked EXACTLY like I expected. I was telling everyone a week before the show that if she gets a 3 out of 5; I'm 100 per cent content with that (as the Swedish press isn't too fond of Céline) but that she would most likely get a 2 with a snidy remark. Which is exactly what happened. the Aftonbladet review I could wipe my butt with, seriously. It's a piece of total crap and it was so obvious that the "journalist" who wrote it is one of those people who had his mind made up about the show before he even saw it just because it was a Céline Dion show. I knew this would happen, I absolutely knew it. I have no problems accepting a negative review if it is deserved; if she's off key, if the stage setting is poor..things like that. But this was really unfair and she didn't deserve it. Plus, he was contradicting himself big time: first, he said that her voice was "so perfect it becomes sterile and impersonal" and then went on to say that he "hated the exaggerated, emotional outburst during My Love". So which is it; is she sterile and devoid of feeling or over emotional? I think someone needs to send him a dictionary sicne the two terms are each other's total opposite. Might be good to know if you plan on making writing your living. Uppsala Nya tidnign gave her three and said that she is technically brilliant but called her "impersonal, cold and with no warmth". Ouch. It sounds like he copied the Aftonbladet one straight off though, with the "sport" analogies. Agian; not good if you want to be a journalist. Imbecills all of them. Ouch. It sounds like he copied the Aftonbladet one straight off though, with the "sport" analogies. Agian; not good if you want to be a journalist. Imbecills all of them.We don't need to get worked up about reviews. We all know by know that what these reviewers call as "warmth" is when a singer looks like she/he is dying on stage, trying to get a decent note correct. Celine sings it perfectly and it looks like she's not even trying to hit those notes, they come naturally, and that's why they call her cold. They call all singers that can actually sing and make it look so easy "cold". Barbra was getting the same remarks, if I remember correctly... I don't understand why this happens, I really don't, I love it when a singer doesn't look like they're having a heart attack on stage, makes it look easy and confortable. But most reviewers (out of jealousy?) do write about singers like Celine that they have no soul or warmth. I think they should send journalist that usually listen/cover classical music/events, because they know how to treasure a perfect voice like Celine's and do know that just because she can sing the hell out of any musical piece, doesn't mean she lacks warmth. Leenu Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:33 PM Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:33 PM I think those reviews were outrageous, especially the one in Aftonbladet. To see that some people really have the nerve to write that sort of c--p pisses me off sooo much... The concert was great: I couldn't believe that I finally got the chance to see her Just great! If anyone was cold then maybe the audience: I was a little disappointed on the crowd at least on our side of the arena... weird. Maybe it's in my imagination or perhaps it's the nordic, unemotional and correct way of doing things... Though even my friend who is not a Celine fanatic per se agreed with me on this... Frida Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:44 PM Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:44 PM I've talked to several people who sat up on the sides, and there's no doubt that Celine had a "favourite" side, the one with TC's section Apparently it was like a magnet, whenever Celine came close to us we stood up and cheered, automatically, every time.. must've looked hilarious! Nikosn17 Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:49 PM Posted June 9, 2008 at 03:49 PM Ok, I listened to the whole concert (thanks for recording and uploading in the multimedia secion ) In general it looks like these were her greatest vocals during this tour so far. It's clear that she was having a great time on stage and was not like ''yeah whatever''. It's a Man's World - Ok, what the hell was that?! That was the best performance of this song she has ever done... great improvisations. I can't get enough of it. She really took it to the next level. That was the highlight of the concert for me. Other great vocals and great performances in general were : Love Can Move Mountains, Alone, River Deep Mountain High I already said I'm not fan of the performance of A Song For You. ...and guess what MHWGO was amazing. Thanks once again for the great quality of this recording. Quote

Celine definitely came over more to that side on Saturday than she did in Birmingham or Paris (on both occasions I was sitting the same side). I'm sure its because we gave her such a warm welcome! So great to hear you had a wonderful time and Celine's attention was well deserved on your side! It was by far the most active section. Wish I had been there... I sat on front row in A9 (läktare) and I felt like she came the least to that side, unfortunately... But when she did, just She was so close...
