Céline's Blues Posted October 19, 2007 at 11:21 AM Posted October 19, 2007 at 11:21 AM it's so obvious that they want celine there no matter what - her album is not out yet and she was not nominated there for years now . so they thought - "how can we get her here?" and then rene and the producers probably came with this idea . since celine already got the DIAMOND AWARD , like 2 years ago , they came with this one . the only thing that matters is that she'll perform there live!! Just curious, what did Whitney recieve that year when Céline was there? Coz she too performed and that a medley.... /fredThat one is trying to make a comeback ever since...I dunno 2000? And every time she appears on stage her blind fans are proclaiming: She's back! This time for real! How pathetic is that. The same case was 2004 when she was supüposed to make a come back with new music. She got her standing ovation but went quickly back to her husband. She's been recording now for about 4 years, probably 2 words per day as her albums have only max 9-10 songs. Expect to make a come back in 2030 when computers will be singing on stage for you and she must not worry about cracking (sic!) live on stage. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Bellamy Posted October 19, 2007 at 01:57 PM Posted October 19, 2007 at 01:57 PM No. WMA usually gives it to the most important celebrity on the award, except the Diamond Award winner of course. Not really, the other awards, including Diamond Award are based on sales. This one's just based on nothing but empty words: "in recognition of their global success and outstanding contribution to the music industry" that applies to anyone you makes recordsIt's just good promotion for Celine, that's all. That's exactly why they creat this award, to invite some important celebrity. Yea, but I have always had the impression that no matter how far behind that woman is she always demands something to be lured out of the hole. But I heard she left him... Who's gonna lead that mummy on the red carpets now? I'm afraid she'll stumble and break something... /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

CSCfan Posted October 26, 2007 at 09:24 AM Posted October 26, 2007 at 09:24 AM PRESS RELEASEThe world’s most exciting music awards ceremony will be returning to the most glamorous destination on earth! The World Music Awards which was held in the Principality of Monaco for 15 years is coming home after 2 years in America and 1 year in the UK. Rumour has it that major superstars will be heading down to glitzy Monte-Carlo including pop rock favourite Avril Lavigne, British Pop sensation Mika, rap superstar 50 Cent, R&B diva Ciara, R&B wonder Akon, rock idols Nickleback, the ultimate voice Celine Dion, dance wonder Cascada and Italian star Laura Pausini. Celine will be receiving a Legend award from Sovereign Prince Albert of Monaco. In 2004 the show was broadcast live from Las Vegas at 8pm on ABC network reaching millions of TV viewers nationally. In 2005 ABC aired yet another star studded ceremony from the home of the Academy Awards, the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The 2006 World Music Awards were held in the biggest arena in Central London before a live audience of 10,000 fans who came to see Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, Andrea Bocelli all perform. There is nowhere on earth more international and exclusive than Monte-Carlo. Stars can go shopping without security and party in peace. And boy do they party during the World Music Awards and in princely company too! But it’s not just about the parties. Artists love to come to Monte- Carlo and receive a World Music Award because the Awards are determined by an artist’s worldwide record sales. The Awards were created back in 1989 with the aim of providing an alternative for jury-based awards, an unbiased award ceremony. The World Music Awards could be called the fairest and the most objective awards ceremony as the awards are given to artists according to record sales. The WMAs adheres to numbers and not to personal opinions as other jury-based awards do. To certify the record sales, the WMAs cooperate with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. It also contributes to the fight against piracy. It encourages fans all over the world to buy legal CDs of their favorite singers, which ultimately helps to determine the winners of the World Music Awards. John Kennedy, the Chairman of IFPI worldwide will present the best-selling European artist award at this year’s ceremony and will deliver a speech against piracy which will be included in the 2 hour show and broadcast on world television. You can tune in to see this exciting original program on November 22nd at 8pm on My Network TV in the US. The show will be broadcast in 160 countries reaching approximately 1 billion viewers. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the construction of a World Music Awards hospital in Darfur. smw Posted November 4, 2007 at 04:10 AM Posted November 4, 2007 at 04:10 AM I got some questions. Is it confirmed that she'll recieve the Legends Award? Is this award given out annually? And who, of the divas, has recieved one? (has Whitney?) Thanks! Quote
RLAAMJR. Posted November 4, 2007 at 04:34 AM Posted November 4, 2007 at 04:34 AM WOW!!!!! THAT's tOtally Awesome! But I don't want Celine to be awarded for "The Best_Selling Female Artist in the Word" cos for a fact that she isn't. THat's why, we really need to buy 2 copies of her new english album. And please do continue buying "These ARe Special Times" Christmas album 'cos we're definitely was nearer to make Celine's Christmas album the best-selliing Christmas album of all time. Quote
