I got this article by email (an emaillist called celine_atw) I don't know where it is from and sorry if it has been posted here already.

 

Celine Dion is leaving Las Vegas next month. Next stop, the world. The pop singer is ending her splashy " A New Day " show at Caesars Palace on Dec. 15 after a nearly five-year run. But she's not taking a vacation. Dion cranks up a world tour beginning in February in South Africa that will run throughout 2008. She plans to start rehearsing a couple days after the Vegas show ends. "After that, hopefully we go home a little bit and rest," she said backstage Sunday at the American Music Awards. "I'm lucky as a performer to reach a big range of people. I don't take a close look at my schedule because it's quite hectic, but I'm not complaining." Dion wowed the audience performing Taking Chances.

 

 

Dion stopped chatting long enough to watch Chris Brown's performance on a backstage monitor. She hung on the microphone and swayed to the music as the R&B hotshot performed "Kiss, Kiss" with T-Pain. "Oh my God!" Dion shrieked as Brown ended up in the rafters attached by cables while performing Michael Jackson-esque dance moves. "It's amazing. He's the most brilliant dancer. I wonder if he comes up with his own choreography," she said. Dion had admirers of her own among the other performers. "I'm a closet Celine Dion fan," said Chris Daughtry, the former "American Idol" contestant who won three trophies.

 

Singer Kid Rock poked fun at his brawling reputation at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles when he picked a fight with show host, comic Jimmy Kimmel. Kid Rock pretended to be upset when he returned to his seat at the AMAs to find Kimmel had taken his place - next to Celine Dion. Angry Rock snapped, "You're in my seat, get up," prompting Kimmel, who then put his arm around Dion, to retort, "I know what this is about; just because Celine and I were married and you and Celine were married too doesn't mean there has to be trouble between us." (Remembering what happened at the MTV Video Music Awards in last September when Kid Rock had a spat with Tommy Lee, both married with Pamela Anderson).

 

Point of curiosity: Celine asked an autograph to the pop/rock group Jonas Brothers for her little kid Rene-Charles, who adores them.

The vocals were the best yet on this song and she looked amazing so beautiful! she really showed people how beautiful she really is with that tan and that dress! and those legs! the only woman who could turn me! lol.

 

I hope that performance helps the album in the US charts, and hope sony are capitalising on it with tv adverts etc!.

AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS MEMORIES from JB

Sunday night we had the amazing honor of performing on the American Music Awards. We arrived at the Red Carpet and were surprised by hundreds of screaming fans awaiting our arrival. There were tons of fans with handmade T-shirts and signs showing their support for us as we walked the Red Carpet.

 

On the Red Carpet, we were interviewed by several people, including Perez Hilton. He told us he loves our YouTube videos and music! We also saw one of our new friends, Jordan Sparks, who looked amazing and was so nice. We met Amanda Bynes. She looked wonderful and was so funny. When we were saying goodbye to her she said, "Well, you guys go do your Rockstar thing you do…I'll go do my un-rockstar thing I do." We're definitely looking forward to seeing her again.

 

After the red carpet we went backstage to get ready for our performance. While we were getting dressed our manager walked into the dressing room and told us that Celine Dion wanted to meet us! We walked to her dressing room, and when we got there she was so excited to meet us. She told us about how her and her son listen to our music all the time, and love that we are a good positive influence. We were so honored that a legend like Celine Dion was a fan of our music. Meeting her got us so pumped for our big performance.

It was now time for our big moment, and while we were waiting to go on, the beautiful Taylor Swift walked up with crossed fingers in a (good-luck kind of way). We also saw Ryan Seacrest backstage. He told us that people had been asking him on the Red Carpet who he was excited to see and he said, "My boys…the Jonas Brothers!" That also got us so excited to get out on stage and play.

 

While Jordan Sparks introduced us, we heard tons of our fans running down the aisle screaming as loud as they could. It was now time for us to perform. The song started and the energy was like nothing we had ever felt before.

 

We had this amazing visual effect right before we walked onto stage. There were glass panels that had our JB logo on them that were supposed to shatter right as we walked through them. The effect worked tremendously with glass exploding perfectly timed with the music.

 

The following words are from Joe"

 

"So the introduction started and we could hear the fans screaming and running down to the stage. When the glass broke we started walking through. On the way through I slipped and fell down on my hands and knees. When I looked up I saw one of our fans, Alexa from Mexico and the smile on her face, as well as the faces of the other fans. This let me know that I had to get right up and perform for them. Once I got up it was so much fun. I decided to give it everything I have to give!

 

After the performance I got back to the dressing room. Someone said, "Joe, you're bleeding!" I had felt some pain but had no idea that there was so much blood. I noticed that my white suit had blood on the knees. I also had cuts on my hand. We called the medic and they cleaned up my leg and hands.

 

After we changed clothes we headed back to our seats. Everyone greeted us when we walked in and told us that it was awesome that we got up and performed our hearts out!"

 

When we went back into the auditorium, we were surrounded by tons of fans taking pictures and asking for autographs even though the security for the venue told them they were not allowed to be out of their seats. We took our seats and watched most of the show.

 

Beyonce stopped us on our way back to our dressing room to let us know she thought we did great. We also heard that Slash wanted a signed guitar from us! Several people said that it was a true moment to see someone bleeding at an awards show.

 

We weren't able to stay for the whole show because we had to get to the airport for an overnight flight to Tampa for a 7:00 pm show on the sold out arena tour we're on right now with Miley Cyrus.

 

Akon spoke to us on our way out. He said he would love to work together. How amazing!

 

In conclusion…things happen, but it is how you handle them that matters. Joe did an amazing job of recovering after falling on broken glass. He still pulled through and had an amazing performance, and this is truly one of those moments where having your brothers on stage with you is such a great way to make it through a tough time. So thanks to all the fans, and everyone who made Sunday nights events truly amazing for us. We will never forget it and how much our fans support us.
