Feelings About "A New Day..." Coming To A Close

I was just in Las Vegas two weeks ago to see my final Celine shows and I have to say I couldn't agree with you more. I have gone once a year for the past four years. I have no intention of going back now that Celine is not there.

 

Celine was Vegas to me. I went to see her, I went to see her signs everywhere, her face on all the taxis and dueces. Without her there, it will just seem like a city full of Casinos.

 

Not to mention, I would rather hate to pass Ceasers and see Bette Middlers face singing to me from where Celines face used to be. (No Offense to the people that like Bette, she is just a let down after Celine)

Haha yeah totally no reason without her. No her, No Celine shop, I really have nothing to do there except lose my life savings. Which isn't as fun as it sounds.

No question, when I was there... Celine was constantly on my mind. I always knew where I was in relation to Caesars, had my eye on the buses, and transports, etc.

For me, Vegas IS Celine!

My mind has been read as well. I was talking to a friend about it on the flight home from last time I was there. My first trip to Vegas was to see her as well as my 2nd and third. I figured June would be my last trip out there, until I decided to be at the December 15th show. I am 99.9% sure it will be a very long time (if at all) before I head back to LV after my flight leaves Dec.16th. I love to shop, but there are plenty other places to shop and I don't gamble. For me Vegas was all about Celine.

 

I don't see things being the same there, at least from my view. Her face and voice was everywhere and basically it was as close as we'll ever get to being at "CelineLand"

 

As far as the "Divine Ms. M" taking Celine's place, no offense, but I seriously don't see her selling out shows like Celine did. Don't get me wrong I am sooooooo happy she is getting out of Vegas and moving on with her career, but Las Vegas isn't going to ever be the same

Yeah I kind of agree. When I went to see Celine a few years ago I also was going to Las Vegas for the first time. It's a fun place to visit, but I could never see living there. I gamble a little bit, but I think I would get burned out by all of the

gambling, buffets and alcohol after awhile. There ARE other shows in LV other than Celine's, and maybe I would go back to see some, but I really liked being able to see her in her own venue. That being said, her show had to end at some point. Maybe selfishly I would have liked her show extended another year but the reality of it is that I think it's better that she is leaving and doing other things now.

oh WOw that's amazing I love those photos. I tried so hard to take pictures of the taxis when I was there, but for some reason her adverts on cabs are just really depleting and it got really hard to run after the arrant taxi and take a good picture of it. First time I went 3 yrs ago there were like billboards and adverts and signs evErywhere. it was definitely a solemn reminder when i went there last week that she really iS leaving. *starts to weep a little inside*

I noticed that too when I was there a week and a half ago. It did really make me sad!
