Okay, so this is sort of a random and odd question to ask, but with A New Day... coming to an end and there only being 18 shows left are you guys happy that it's coming to an end? Are you guys sad? Are you angry? Talk about it here!

I'm happy and sad all at the same time! I have not seen the show but it's been going on for years now so it will be hard for her to say goodbye. But I'm happy that she'll be touring cuz maybe she could come closer to where I live. Vegas ain't exactly "just around the river bend". :P

I'm sad and happy at the same time. Sad because its all coming to an end, the greatest show in the world. Remembering when I went, all those memories  but, in a way happy cause as some of guys said, she can rest, all of those years singing and singing she needs a HUGE rest. ^_^

There ain't a dream that don't have the chance to come true now, it just takes a little faith baby...

Anxious would be the right word... As December is gonna be my first time in Vegas there's nothing I think about rather than this... But on the other hand, I know that it may be also the last time I'm seeing her live, since she's probably not coming to my country, and I get kind of sad with that... Something like a dream come true and that's it? Go after another? Maybe knowing that we won't find her at same place every day, or that we can't come for her when we want to is a little bit frightening.. I'm afraid of losing track of her or something crazy like I sometimes think... But I'm happy for her. It's a new beginning and a perfect one I'm sure!

I'm both sad and happy. I'm sappy. :giggle:

I'm sad because I never got a chance to go and experience the show that people say was the best they've ever seen.

I'm happy because Celine can finally look into new things instead sticking in Vegas for the rest of her life.

I'm kinda happy and sad at the same time. Happy that the show is coming to a end, also so she can have a rest and to travel around the world with the tour, also who nows maybe another kid for René Charles to play with. Kinda sad to because I had so many memories at the show on my sixteen birthday, with my mom and sister. :thumbsup2:   Edited by A New Day Has Come

It's going to be awful! I can't believe so few shows. It's been nice knowing I could drive down and see her on a whim, and when she leaves it won't be the same. The last show will be very emotional! But like everyone else I'm excited about what the future brings outside of Vegas.

I'm happy I always thought A New Day.. was not a show for a singer with 35 years old at the top of her career and I'm sure it is one of the reason why Pop stations don't play her music now, it is like, what? she was singing in Las Vegas Frank Sinatra songs right? I was there twice, I met her and I loved it, but I'm happy the show is over now and we have a new cd and tour coming :D Edited by manu23

I'm kind of happy that the show is ending. I was lucky enough to be able to see it, but I'm excited to see what Celine is going to do next. She'll be able to take on more projects that the Vegas schedule wouldn't allow, and she can take time off when she wants.

3/14/07 - The Celine concert that almost was

Posted

I can't believe it's getting so close. This year really is flying by, like Celine said it would.

I have all kinds of feelings. I was lucky enough to see the show twice. Once in 2005, and then again in 2006. I had tickets for March of this year, and she cancelled. I had hoped to get back before it closed, but it just didn't work out. So I'm kind of upset about not being able to see the changes in the show.

But, overall, I think this is a beautiful time to end it. She is "walking out" on top...leaving people wanting more and that's exactly what she needs to do. It was a brilliant career move, and she proved any disbelievers SO wrong. I couldn't be more proud of this show as a fan of hers. It brought her to a new level as an entertainer.

This show has helped her evolve, and I know she will bring that with her to future performances. So, even though I would have loved to see it just once more, I think it is a very good thing for her to end...and go on and see other parts of the world. And celebrate the age of 40 in a big way next year.

I'm happy. She played that game and won. It's time for something new, something edgier. I felt that her albums were somewhat limited until D'ELLES came along, and it blew me away.

She's still young and has one of the best voices of all time! I want to see more TV specials, albums, videos, and interviews.

Perhaps in 20 years or so she'll want to go back to performing like she did. That would be cool with me.

Like most of the others, I have mixed feelings. It was nice knowing you could schedule a trip to see her whenever you wanted and the show was great. I am a bit sad this is coming to a close.

I am very excited she's going back out on tour and getting herself "going" again. She's been in Vegas going on 5 years. Though I know she loves the show, I really think she is longing to do something else. Though the show has seemed great from the start to the near finish, its apparent she's getting tired of doing the same thing for over 700 times. She seems to be going through the motions sometimes, being a bit robotic. Who wouldn't after that long?

I am a bit nervous. I think after the world tour, she'll be taking a well deserved break. I just hope she decides to come back after that, as I know family is important to her. I guess the main thing is to enjoy the year to come

All of the promises broken..

And all of the songs left unsung...

Seem so far away as I make my way back to you.

You gave me faith and you gave me a world to believe in

I definitely have a bittersweet feeling about her ending the run in Las Vegas but overall I feel happy about it since I think it's time for her to move on and "take chances"(sorry about the bad pun!). I think it's time she moves on so the rest of the world can finally get to see her again in their own countries. The thing that I will miss the most is that it was cool to be able to go see her in a place specifically designed and built for her to perform, and for a lot of people here it made a nice destination for fans to meet other fans and see the show together.

Yeah, I'm a bit "sad" and happy. I'm so looking for this new tour - I cannot wait to see a french show - D'elles and TC-- wow lol and an audience full of real fans! But on the other hand... I really will miss Vegas because the Colosseum is an amazing theater - it's small and we can see her pretty close & I just love the fact that it's easy to plan a trip to see her. When she goes on tour I won't have the chance to see her many times as I cannot follow her around the world and she probably won't come to Brazil... I don't know.... heheh but I'm happy because it is a new thing for her, a new experience and it's important in life to move on. Vegas was pretty good, she took the risk and it was amazing! It gave her the stability she was looking for her, for her family etc I hope she take a little rest in those 2 months of vacation hehe

She will be very special to me for all my life, anyway hehe :)

I wouldn't be surprised if she ran of the stage right after MY HEART WILL GO ON, runs into a private jet and says to Rene "Let's get the hell outta here!"

I could never be mad at Celine... she's given us a majority of her life singing. She's been fabulous and, in my opinion, never let us down so even though I'm sad she's going to be leaving, I'm happy for her. It's time for her to focus on herself again and, good gravy!, it's about time Rene and Rene Charles got her all to themselves! Besides, I can't wait to jump up and down at the news of another little Dion-Angelil on it's way. (I'm holding out for a little girl with an absolutely adorable french name!)

I'm a bit sad but I think this is the right time to end the show.

Celine has given so much to us, to Las Vegas, to the dancers and all the employees. They have worked together for almost 5 years and now it's about to end. I know the final night will be very emotional for all of us.

I'm sad because the show has meant so much to so many :(, happy because I got to experience it  , and excited because now the tour can begin

It'll be weird coming back to Vegas one day and not see Celine everywhere :(

I thought that when the final shows came around I would be devastated. (The only devastating thing is adding up how much money I’ve spent because of this show - even though it was worth every penny!) And maybe I’m in denial - but I think it’s time. It is sad though. It will be a big change when we see her on tour, the show won’t be as intimate. We’ve grown used to her being right there in front of us! Also, as someone already said - it’s so much easier to plan a trip to go see her & also to be able to see her many times in one trip. I’ll miss that. Not to mention all of the wonderful people involved with the show. The dancers, the Colosseum staff - they are near and dear to my heart. However, I’m ready to see what Céline has in store for us next with the new album and the tour. When I think of all the amazing experiences I’ve had visiting Las Vegas five times, once every year - and seeing the show ten times, all but once within the first five rows - I couldn’t ask for more. I’m ready to wrap up this amazing chapter in her career. It’ll be sad, but in the words of Céline, “The best is yet to come.”

Like many have already said, I'm sad and happy. Sad it's ending but happy because she'll be in Europe next year and I'm definitely seeing her in Paris and, maybe, Sweden.

Vegas was not a place I'd ever planned to visit but Céline changed that. I've seen the show a total of 10 times and if she was there for another 5 years I'd go back. As it is, I don't know if I'll ever return - and that makes me kinda sad because it's a great place!

Oh, and I'll miss the Celine Dion shop too :D

I'm extremely happy for her. I am glad this long and drawn out road is almost over for her. I know she is ready for change. Vegas burned her out a little I feel. Although I am excited about going next month to see the show, and will be sad when I leave, I am glad for her! :D

I've so many mixed feelings...

When she just started out, the three years seemed to be an eternity...we believed in her but did we have a clue how it was going to turn out? I expected a lot but I think this show has exceeded all my expectations, especially in the last year this show has been...just the best I've ever seen and it will probably stay the best and most beautiful I've ever seen.

By returning to Vegas to see the show every year, meeting new people and meeting up with old friends...it just has been magical. My biggest dream of meeting Céline came true there...and just be able to bump in to all the people that work with and for her...that's been one incredible experience.

The one small negative thing I felt sometimes that Céline seemed to be captured in her own succes, she kind of lost her artistic freedom because she was locked into this concept, she will be free from that now and I can't wait to see where she takes us...

I will probably cry my eyes out on the 15th of December, but it's time to leave and go on to the next thing.

Hello fellow Celine Fans

It's been a full month since I last saw  Celine

And to be honest, Las Vegas will have no "luster" once she's gone. And she will be gone....

Surely she will never (NEVER) return to the desert and I only hope that she graces us with her presence (sp?) up here in Toronto in the near future.

In between AND shows I manged to lose my shirt at the blackjack tables (where the dealers showed no mercy at all- even the Shania Twain look-a-like at the Imperial).

So what's stopping me from driving down to Niagara Falls, where the casinos take U.S. $ at par (Canadian Sarcasm!), and then dragging my poverty-ridden buttocks (please see avatar) home to my own bed.

Well, all kidding aside.... I will miss my regular sojourns to Nevada to see my beloved Celine.. :in_love: :in_love: :in_love:

Anything you'd like to add ???

Ken, i cannot agree more. I don't gamble nor do i like shopping so the only reason i went to Vegas was Celine. I do not see myself ever going there again after Dec 15th unless she has a stop there for the Worldtour, which i think she might.
