Why has SonyBMG abandoned Céline completely nowadays?

Lately rather disturbing news concerning Céline's upcoming release "Taking Chances" attracted my attention:

 

There is absolutely no news whatsoever.

 

Not in Europe. Not in the US. Not in Canada. Nowhere.

 

It is disgraceful for Sony not to release any information, not even a puny press release to the media about what the Céline's status quo is, what she's up to and what song she has recently recorded.

 

May I remind you that Alicia Keys's team issued a special press release today informing the media of her sky-rocketing single and her upcoming promotional performances of the song along with some info on her upcoming album.

 

I take Alicia as example cuzz she is the prime example of promotional machine that Céline and SonBMG should learn from. And what do Céline's fans have? What does SonyBMG have?

 

A bloody Amazon.com pre-sale that is already FILLING up their pockets with bare money! Good God, it's all about it: NULL promotional but let ppl pre-order the album already and we forget and screw Céline's fans in the US and around the world BIG time. They will buy it anyhow. The history repeating at its finest.

 

I mean Austria!? Amazon.com!? One radio station in Europe premiered Céline's single today. One damn radio station. While Alicia Keys single is already and I'm quoting from the press release "became one of the fastest moving and highest charting single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. This also marks the highest first single debut for a female artist in 2007 on the R&B Monitor's Urban Mainstream chart".

 

Bravo Sony. You WILL get your no.1 pre-sale chart for Taking Chances cuzz céline's fans will eat the dirt up you are serving. Unbelievable.

We are sorry to inform you that we have never heard of this singer called "Celaine Dijon'. May we remind you that as a top class record company we only handle and promote A plus artists like Ozark Henry, Omarion and of course Jennifer Lopez.

 

Taking Chances does not even ring a bell here on our promotion department, neither can we recollect any album called One Heart, 1 Ville 4 Tiepes, Miracle, A new day, On ne chante pas or D'ellez. We do remember a million money maker album Falling Into You, which earned us a lot of money, but someway we lost touch with that artist.

 

We hope we have informed you the best way thinkable.

Well.... I was informed that they're holding a media press conference on Sept. 14th in Vegas. They'll all be seeing Celine plenty and they're probably going to talk about the things to come.

Perhaps it's just too early. People might get tired of it if they have access to this stuff so soon.

We'll have to forget Sony's dirty job and do the real job for them... Promoting Céline EVERY WHERE and voting for her and requesting her songs at EVERY radio station.

It's very sad that we have to do all the promo. Sony doesnt care about the best selling female artist of all times, our beloved Celine. Celine is potential to have HUGE hits in all over the world! Sony should promote her album, not for 1-2 months, but for 1-2 years! Shania, Shakira, Mariah, Alicia, Madonna, EVERYONE does that. They release many singles, not just 2 or 3. I believe that it is the last chance for Celine and Sony to prove that she is still a world-wide star in 00's and not just the Titanic lady.

 

She deserves that! She is one of the best voices, performers and artist that have ever lived on earth

It's a shame Rene won't speak up and move her to a label that will recognize what a true asset she is. Heck, they have enough money to create their own label by now.

We fans have to somehow pull together and make sure this album doesn't fall short...and requesting her songs to be played on the radio and creating petitions isn't the way to do it.

That was too good and too true, Dejvej!

 

What can we do, boys and girls? Our field of action is extremely limited as we don't have nearly as big means to promote Céline worldwide. Internet and some few media outlets out there take pieces from here and announce them, that's true but there's nothing like a full blown promo campaign only such a huge giant like Sony can cause.

 

It's TERRIBLY obvious what they are really after with Céline and what they are really after with Alicia. I say: WATCH closely how their promotion evolves cuzz it's sheer OUTRAGEOUS what they're doing to Alicia and what they are NOT doing to Céline. Gimme a break with a pathetic amazon.com preview of the single concentrating blatantly on the album pre-sales - Céline's only strong point lately.

 

They are so after money. They again count on her moving her @$$ from show to show doing 50000 shows promoting the hell out of the album and song like she did in 1996. Without no help she promoted her album and it became her success and Sony's gold mine. Now however they don't do a single thing, not even a press release regarding the single while the "enemy camp" is hailing Alicia's next no.1 single already... now Céline fans must be really blind now if they don't see how SHAMELESSLY they'Re being ripped at this and very moment!

The press release is supposed to happen this week. Journalists were sent today to Sony's offices in New York City to listen to the album. This is the first step since it means they've come up with a tracklist. I do agree that they always wait too long to get the promotion going but I'm sure Rene wouldn't take any chances (no pun intended) with this album. By the time the album is released, Alicia's promo tantrum will be old and Celine's will be fresh in the media.

I'm just very concerned about their attitude as I found today's premiere of Taking Chances in Austria more than disturbing - only ONE European radio has been given the song? Good gracious, you heard a newspaper called Journal De Montreal? They always had some insider info before the general public got to know it. Every press conference was announced and even some details were unveiled. Now we got nothing. They merely published info of the album's release with a wrong release date!
