davidjag79 Posted September 13, 2009 at 08:51 PM Posted September 13, 2009 at 08:51 PM (edited) These are my top 3 female vocalist in the industry today: Of course Celine is my fav... i think she is flawless great breath support cant wait for Taking Chances tour dvd (hopefully this fall) ...followed by Christina Aguilera she has such a soulful and powerful strong voice new album is scheduled to come out this fall... rounding out my top 3 is Leona Lewis she has an amazing voice so strong check out her new song Happy. This is only my opinion, just for fun! What do you think? Honorable mention:Mariah Carey which she is amazing but i think she has went away from her great work she is much better with ballads although her new remake of i want to know what love is.. is very good! Whitney Houston i want to love her new album but i dont im not going to bash her because she is a legend but her voice is nowhere near what it use to be. and finally Pink i think she is greatly under rated! She is talented and has a very strong voice! Bartek Posted September 13, 2009 at 08:54 PM Posted September 13, 2009 at 08:54 PM (edited) I'm totally agree with you . In case of vocalist they are the top three. Fourth and fifth may be Beyonce and Charice. Edited September 13, 2009 at 08:54 PM by Bartek Quote
disadiva Posted September 13, 2009 at 09:09 PM Posted September 13, 2009 at 09:09 PM My Top Three are in This order: 1: Celine Acourse. 2: Whitney Houston. 3: "She is a new diva in the making and i am loving her voice..she has a classical soprano voice, and she has shoved Mariah from the third place of my favorits...Top 3.This Classical new diva is no other then the 48 year old Susan Boyle. 4-5Mariah and Beyoncé. I love Charice also but still i am not..really feeling her "Dopey"i don´t know why maybe cause she refers to Celine,Whitney to much. Quote http://i46.tinypic.com/2nvtcpl.jpg
westwing Posted September 13, 2009 at 09:58 PM Posted September 13, 2009 at 09:58 PM Céline, Barbra Streisand and Whitney. Anyone, and I do mean anyone, can have a hit album these days. And furthermore, it's literally painful to listen to some of the other so-called "stars" singing live, without the comfort of their sound engineers and producers who are in fact responsible for 80% of their pre-recorded sound. For instance, Madonna's live singing voice has throughout her career been a complete joke. The deciding factor is which artist and voice can stand the test of time, and produce quality material over the course of two, three, four and even FIVE (Barbra) decades. There is NO competition for these three ladies and their undisputed talent. People are still listening to, and buying, Frank Sinatra songs from the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's... NO ONE will be listening to Leona Lewis, Aguilera or Beyoncé 5 or 10 years from now. Let alone 30 years. Give me a break. Quote

Black Kitten Posted September 14, 2009 at 07:32 AM Posted September 14, 2009 at 07:32 AM (edited) in order: 1. Celine Dion- i still believe her vocal abilities remain unsurpassed up to this day. her voice and control is UNTOUCHABLE. 2. Mariah Carey- she's always been my 2nd favorite vocalist ever since i was a little kid. i look up to her. 3. Whitney Houston- the emotion she puts on every single song she sings is unbelievable. despite of the changes in her range and vocals, she's still one amazing interpreter. Scramasboy Posted September 14, 2009 at 11:26 AM Posted September 14, 2009 at 11:26 AM Celine Dion OF COURSE! Best of the best!Tina TurnerAlison KraussKelly Clarkson is a close fourth. I love watching her sing live, she has so much power and is so raw and emotional. It's awesome. And this is from yesterday, today, and for tomorrow. :] Alison is amazing, ya'lls who dont know her, should know her. I really don't like Aretha's voice. It was always OK but not superfantastic like Whitney and Mariah's years ago and Celine's years ago and now. But, of course, everyone is allowed their favs. Quote http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png

Tina Turner Why so many Whitney's and Mariah's? 1. Different strokes for different folks. 2. At least with my rankings, I was talking about overall career vocals and not just a specific time, and who I preferred overall in terms of voice. I can't speak for everyone but that's just my opinion. Céline, Barbra Streisand and Whitney. Anyone, and I do mean anyone, can have a hit album these days. If you've heard stuff from her Who's That Girl, Blond Ambition and Girlie Show Tours, she has had very strong vocal performances and she is able to do a very honest ballad. Even on her current tour she did You Must Love Me and Don't Cry for Me Argentina beautifully. Edited September 14, 2009 at 09:12 PM by Lymon Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
