Bell Posted August 26, 2007 at 06:22 AM Posted August 26, 2007 at 06:22 AM (edited) It`s been 20 years since 'Incognito' was released. We all know that it`s a special album because it shows the 'new' Celine - a new look & a new team. That was the moment when her dream to become a world-known singer started to come true. So let`s celebrate the anniversary! Post & share anything related to 'Incognito' including your thoughts & feelings about it! I`ll start with it. For me it`s special because it was released the same year when I was born. I like Celine`s look - so fresh and a kind of sexy. The songs are great ( I love 'Partout je te vois', 'D`abord, c`est quoi l`amour' & 'On traverse un mirroir') and her voice sounds good. It may not be as pure as in the 1990s but I truly like it. Clari Posted August 26, 2007 at 07:10 AM Posted August 26, 2007 at 07:10 AM Wow... it's been that long? I love that album, it's so raw and 80's cheesy-like. ewh12 Posted August 26, 2007 at 07:31 AM Posted August 26, 2007 at 07:31 AM it sure was a catchy/cheesy 80s album.. im curious how she would have sounded like if those were the tracks recorded for her english album instead of the "Unison" tracks.. imagine what could have happened. the course of her career could have been changed for better or worse.. on a side note was Partout Je Te Vois the only track she translated and recorded in English or did she record them all before they increased the budget to fund more original songs?? As far as I know, 'Partout je te vois' is the only song from the album translted in English. It was made especially for the 1987 CBS awards. Celine was invited to perform a song from 'Incognito' but Rene said that she would sing in English. So the song was translated and everybody liked it. It was the beginning of her English career. Alex_Incognito Posted August 26, 2007 at 04:19 PM Posted August 26, 2007 at 04:19 PM This album really is one of my favorites from Celine. No joke! I love each and every song very much, they all are something that I can relate to. LOLITA (TROP JEUNE POUR AIMER) is one of my top songs (I just wish I knew where it was filmed! ANYONE KNOW?) I first purchased the album on a trip to Quebec City in 2003, I'd been a Celine fan since 1996 (technically 1992), but had just gotten into her french work because I was, at the time, learning French. Now that I am fluent, these songs mean even more to me (Just like when Celine re-discovered songs she sang in english). INCOGNITO---I love you. I just wish Sony would have done a special edition cd/dvd, as lots of great footage exists from this era. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Alex_Incognito Posted August 26, 2007 at 05:15 PM Posted August 26, 2007 at 05:15 PM That albums actually needs the remastering, not TAST! The ONCP remastering on the INCOGNITO songs are super! Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Davey84 Posted August 28, 2007 at 07:34 AM Posted August 28, 2007 at 07:34 AM Incognito really launched a new carreer for Céline... no more shy child star with vampire teeth, but a beautiful young confident woman, who was ready to take over the world! It toke time to love the Incognito album, just like DMQS, but I guess I was to young back then.... I really love Incognito and i think it's one of her best french albums! I love Céline's performance of Incognito at the Millenium concert... that was so much fun! For her too I imagine! It's really to bad Céline doesn't perform those songs anymore! My favs are: Partout je te voisDélivre-moi (should be on the french tour!!! )Comme un coeur froid Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
Immensité Posted August 28, 2007 at 08:32 AM Posted August 28, 2007 at 08:32 AM I love that album! I have 3 songs that I listen to ALL the time:"Incognito","On traverse un miroir" and "D'abord c'est quoi l'amour". I used to listen to "Partout je te vois" but then I liked "Have a heart" better... Thanks for a great topic Quote
Esty Posted August 28, 2007 at 08:36 AM Posted August 28, 2007 at 08:36 AM I love Incognito because it's so raw. I also like the saxophone on it, although I sometimes think they used it too much (on almost every track).Celine sounds so young on the album and the lyrics are suited to her, dealing with "problems" of her years. My favourites are Delivre moi (it's pure of energy, rock and just blows you away), Partout je te vois (this version is more eary and more innocent than Have a Heart), Comme un coeur froid (it's such a sad ballad) and Lolita (it's orchestration gives it a unique atmosphere, it has a darker mood). And Jours de fievre always cheers me up, it's such a happy summer song. Quote

Although, it would be awesome. I'd love for them to release the "Incognito" TV special as well where Céline performed a bunch of the songs. I'd also add "Seulement qu'une aventure" to your tracklist which was (I believe) on the "Incognito" TV special but never released on an album. Quote je me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore
