the figures i read here r redicilous - Red Hot Chili Peppers never sold 6 million copies from their last album and nelly furtado sold less than 1 million copies from her album in the u.s. . those r just few of the redicilous "facts" .

dont worry - celine will sell much more than nelly even if she wont have as many number 1's on the single charts ....she'll sell more than the red hot too - celine is still very strong in europ . even DELLES which had zero promotion made it to the charts in italy , sweden and other places outside of france and canada .

 

i'm saying it again - the power of celine is like no other . she has a huge commercial potential even today .

having said that her new album wont sell more than 5 million copies due to obvious reasons . she could sell 20 million copies i'm certain of it - noone else can and i'm still saying it - she could with a decent record label

You are completely wrong! Try to google from year 2002 if noone has reach 10 millions copies worldwide. Be sure of what you're saying.

 

Celine was able to sell more than 6.5 million copies for one heart even if it wasn't a hit and no tours. So that means, there are actually more than five million who will be buying her album and more than 5 million again from her tours, even if she won't really have good songs that will top the charts worldwide. So the least number of copies for Celine's upcoming english album is more than 10 million.

 

Just remember when she had a comeback before with "A New Day has Come. It has sold more than 10 million copies. From websites that i've went through, they all stated that ANDHC sold ranging from 12-16 million copies worldwide.

I'm So glad that Celine is so much played in India...But whwere I Live in Oregon, Ohio in the USA Celine is old news except for die hard fans like me " I Love Her" but thats not the case always with some of the people around me in my schools and the workplace...There are people that never heard of her...and then there are more people that just hate her...because of My Heart Will Go On...and think that song "SANK" with the Titanic So... It's not that I think Celine is old news but i think that some people do because She has the most pure voice i heard in a long time.....Mariah Cracks... and Whitney is on Crack.. Celine has made it through the hard journey of show business...her marriage is good and thats amazing...but airtime on radiostations is Key and that's why in order to set records with this new album She has to PROMOTE and alot of it....

I don't think we need to go slating Mariah or any other artist just because they are releasing albums at the same time as Celine.

 

History has proven that there is a market for all these artists and even recently they still all sell albums pretty well. They all perform different types of music and all have their fans that have been with them for years.

 

Personally speaking I couldn't care less what Mariah, Janet, Madonna releases or where they chart because how well they do doesn't stop me enjoying Celine's music or wanting her to do well. If chart positions and radio play mean more to you than enjoying Celine's music then the penny needs to drop that it's promotion that sells albums!

I really don't worry much about albumsales she will sell, she always has, even if there's going to be releases from other diva's, she will sell.

I am really counting on the Céline/Annie Lennox duet to become a hit... Just the reaction on the Elvis duet on American Idol makes me believe that Céline is in for a MAJOR return.
