Int'l Céline Dion Fans Convention.

Hey, guys!

 

So many of you have offered that if I ever need help in getting this thing off of the ground and happening, you'd be available and willing.

 

I FINALLY need your help!

 

I especially could use the help from those of you who run large-sized fan clubs for your countries or who could translate some basic information into different languages such as French, Italian, Spanish etc. to get the convention concept more wide-spread and more truly international!

 

I've been in contact with a couple of people (business-wise) at Feeling for a while and was supposed to hear from them at the end of 2004 to get a response, or at least a go-ahead to continue planning. It is March and one of the key people there has been on vacation for a while; this thing is still not goin' the way I'd really like it to. I've been not very aggressive for fear of pushing my luck in this thing, feeling as if I don't really have any leverage, but I think that it is time to give them a polite little push to let them know that this could be a really great opportunity for so many reasons, and to get going on it!

 

I feel that if I show them sheer numbers it will get them more seriously interested and impressed by the idea, and this is where I need your help!

 

I have just talked to Cindy and Dennis who run the fan club in Holland, which is 1500 thick in members, and they are going to create a list of those from their fan club who are interested in the convention and who would like more details so that they could look into attending. They will also be corresponding with their airfare provider to see if it would be possible to create reasonable airefares to and from Europe for when and if this event happens.

 

I would really appreciate if some of you would be willing to do the same and send out a newsletter or display information about it on your national fan clubs. After that, I'd like to compile a list of the members who have expressed interest in your groups. I'd prefer to have this information sooner than later because at this point in time, we really need to get jamming.

 

From there, Cindy, Dennis and I will get the entire list compiled in an organized fashion and I will create a small visual and informational portfolio to send to some other key people at Feeling who they are in contact with. We will directly contact them with this information and, from then, it is expected that things will get going (at least we hope so).

 

I've really apprecaited all of the support from the moment I had this idea to now... and I've really apprecaited all of your offers to be of service in making this thing happen.........

 

This is how I need you right now... I'm sure I'll be needing you all more later as well!

Portuguese (Portugal, Brazil) is in too??? hhe That's the language I can translate.

Yeah, any language is great. If this thing happens I want it to be as truly international as it can be. People from all over the world... all didfferent languages etc.

I can do Chinese translate. but I don't think there's Chinese fan can afford this convention.

Right now it is still in the beginning stages. It hasn't been forgotten but it's also not taken off yet. This is just to let them know this thing can get really, really serious.

 

As for right now, I have no idea how much something like this would cost to attend. We could be working with someone affordable and we could be working with something a bit more towards expensive but... I'll let you know as soon as there are more developments. I'll get a little something going for people to translate soon.

Hi everyone!

 

I am Cindy from the 'Céline Dion Information Point' (The Dutch Fanclub) and we have decided that we were gonna stick by Marisa, because we can't go SUCH a BRILLIANT idea go to waste. We need YOUR help to convince Feeling that we WANT this Convention to happen!

 

Marisa has created this website Céline Dion International Fan Convention in the past week...and she's is still in the stage of adding as much information to the website as she possibly can!!

 

For now Marisa needs to know how many people are interested, it's not like you already need to tell us wether your going or not, just your interest is important for now!

To measure this we NEED everybody, I mean EVERYBODY, to help Marisa. You can do this in the following ways:

 

1) Please REGISTER on Céline Dion International Fan Convention and FILL IN your profile, it takes only a few seconds!

 

2) Marisa needs the help from Céline webmasters and Céline Forum managers ALL over the world, it doesn't matter if you have 5 members or 10.000 we need you all! Place the Convention banners on your website, mention the convention to your

visitors often!! In return your website will of course have a banner on the convention website!! Pease contact Marisa through the website!!

 

3)Translations are still needed!! For now we have 'English and Dutch' and we are working on 'Portuguese' we still need translators for 'German, French and Spanish' to begin with!! Please contact Marisa through the website!!

First, thank you, Vic, for pinning the topic up here. It really puts a smile on my face. I appreciate it!

 

Like Cindy said, we've created the website to inform all of you about the convention, the latest news about it etceteras. We' really need for you to register to show your support for the convention idea so we can have some significant people power the next time that I contact Feeling Productions.

 

To do this, just go to the website and register at the forum and complete your profile information. You can also respond to the poll that is on the website about whether you would attend the convention, which will also help us to provide accurate information to Feeling the next time I get in contact with them.

 

The forum there will be a more "focused" area for me to respond about the convention, but I will make sure to keep on stopping by here with updates as well.

 

I ask that if you post something here you attempt to also post it at the convention forum in one of the sections, be it an idea or your asking a question. It will just make it easier to keep track of where it was posted etceteras, instead of wondering which forum I saw the question asked at. It’s simply for organizational purposes. I’ll definitely keep stopping by here as well, though!

 

In the end, I'd like for the website to have as many languages as possible, and as many nations involved as possible. This is a global Céline fan project! Finnish sounds great! I've even got someone who offered to translate into Hebrew! So right now, what it is looking like with offers I've had, it is English, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, French, German, Chinese and Finnish! Haha. More to come, I'm sure!

umm i was just wondering. who going to pay for this convemteion? should we start to think about fundraising?

That's a good question to be asked over in the questions section of the convention forum! Hehe.

 

Right now, as you'll see in the news section, I am trying to get Feeling in on this so that will help with some of the things.... otherwise (and even with their help) the cost of this convention and "who is paying for what" will get ectremely complicated. I cannot even begin go predict how this is all going to go about at the moment. LOL. The whole issue is, basically, lots of details which depend on lots more details that are, thus far, undeveloped! One step at a time!

 

Let's reach 4100 fans and we'll see what comes next. LOL.

Right now, there isn't that many.... but we also are not counting how many people they could bring with them........ and we also haven't launched the "campaign" to message all of the TeamCéline members with profiles. Once we do that the number will go up significantly... and once that number gets to something I am comfortable with and there are some new developments we'll see if we can't get more official publicity about it.
