dododominika Posted April 13, 2008 at 04:32 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 04:32 PM (edited) I've seen the post on the Polish Celine's Official Forum and the one thing that suprises me is why are those tickets so expensive? Many great and world-known artists used to come to Poland like The Police, U2, Sting, Tina Turner and I know that tickets costed up to 500 PLN and right now I see the prices up to 1000 PLN. It's a huge amount of money, isn't it? And why are they going to sell the tickets when the actual concert hasn't been confirmed yet?? It's weird... Dionesque Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:29 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:29 PM (edited) Take into consideration that 1000 PLN is the price of the most expansive VIP ticket. Normal tickets prices range between 150 and 220 PLN (equals between 44 and 78 euros) which is pretty cheap if you compare it to other prices in Europe! They are even cheaper than tickets for Pargue and Amsterdam. I was afraid they may throw some unpayable prices but the prices we got to know a few days ago are really fair as for Polish circumstances. Of course they are still expansive but so they are in any other countries. For example see the prices in Germany - they are also most expansive prices for pop concert tickets I've ever seen, apart from Barbra's show, of course. So realy, don't complaine now! There will be the concert in Poland so the dream of many, maaany Polish fans will finally become true and I'm sure the prices are quite affordable. dododominika Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:42 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 05:42 PM I really hope that there will be a concert but I'm a little bit sceptical due to late organization and nothing being confimed. How long can we wait for the official info? About the prices - yeah, you can always buy the ticket for 220 PLN but how far from the stage is it going to be?If I went to Celine's concert I wouldn't like to be somewhere behind. And pay attention to the fact that the Germans earn much more than we do so for them the prices aren't that high. It's always us who suffer from the low economy and currency. It's always us... For me 1000 PLN is quite a big amount of money (worth paying for her concert) but still there are other things I would like to spent that money on (or have to) and as I said being there, somewhere at the back is not really what her biggest fans are dreaming of... Dionesque Posted April 13, 2008 at 07:06 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 07:06 PM 220 PLN is the price of the tickets at the front of the floor so don't think they will be further back from the stage. Those 799 PLN or 1000 PLN tickets are just for snobs and high rollers who need to show up being at a concert of such a superstar! They are so expansive because they include parking place, drinks and food all included, after show party and whatever else but who nneds it among us, real fans?! I deffinitely don't! I don't miss sitting among some boring people whi are not really fans. I will buy a regular ticket for normal price and have great fun with other real fans, and that not far from the stage! Ach, and believe me, paying over 200 euros for a concert ticket it's also a LOT money for someone who lives and earns his/her money in Germany! That's really expansive and there are a lot German fans too who can't afford it. Only Berlin is quite "cheap" but not the other cities. dododominika Posted April 13, 2008 at 08:26 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 08:26 PM I'm sure there are a lot of people who can't afford it but in general the Germans earn more money. Unfortunately earnings in Poland are very low average earnings, not the earnings of private corporations or politicians who steal everything from us, from this country. Well if the 220zl ticket is in the front then great I just haven't seen the arrangement of the seats so I have no idea where is it. And considering other prices I thought it would be far, far away from the stage. But if it's as you're saying then it's great. ehhh I hope there will be some confirmed info really soon because this insecurity is just horrible :( Quote http://www.blogzurciu.republika.pl/avtar/podpis.jpg
Dionesque Posted April 13, 2008 at 08:47 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 08:47 PM I can't tell the 220 PLN ticket will be the one for the front row but i'm almost sure it will be somewhere not so far from the front rows. Just an example: I was at Lionel Richie concert last year, I bought the cheapest ticket and it was the best one - I stand in the middle of the front row! So really, high price doesn't always mean the best seat. People in Poland earn less money than people in German but the concert tickets in Poland (also the ones for Céline) are proportionally cheaper. I hate people complaining and telling "Poland is the worst, Poland is the poorest, Poland is always at the end" etc. etc.! How stupid is that?... Quote Visit me on Facebook 14th & 16th May 2008 - Antwerp Sportpaleis24th & 25th May 2008 - Paris Bercy2nd June 2008 - Amsterdam ArenA12th June 2008 - Berlin Waldbühne18th June 2008 - Köln Arena20th June 2008 - Hamburg Colorline Arena28th June 2008 - Kraków Błonia Park1st July 2008 - Vienna Stadthalle15th, 16th, 19th & 20th August 2008 - Montréal Bell Centre10th, 15th & 16th March 2011 - Las Vegas Caesars Palace ColosseumJ'étais là pour toi, Céline! dododominika Posted April 13, 2008 at 09:21 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 09:21 PM Well the sad truth is that we are backward comparing to other countries (western countries) and I think that we will be backward for a very long time but of course it didn't come from nowhere. Considering the long history, wars, sudden vanishing from the world maps and partitions of this country it's understandable that standing up and living up to EU expectations, standards will take a while. But I think there's nothing wrong with little complaining, especially when you consider our government (or idiots behind it), huge taxes, education curriculum, red-tape or almost everything that you meet in everyday life - things that make your day harder, your life more complicated. What I also think is that as long as complaining helps you somehow it is not enough. We will never become a strong country if people don't have hope in it and won't try to change it. So just saying that Poland is the worst country in the world, the poorest one - is stupid, I agree. Nevertheless people are just people and sometimes they want to complain. Anyway, that's what Polish people do all the time, don't they? Quote http://www.blogzurciu.republika.pl/avtar/podpis.jpg
Dionesque Posted April 13, 2008 at 09:42 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 09:42 PM And exactely that's the problem - complaining about everything and everybody but not acting. Maybe that's why other countries are more successful. Anyway, I lived in Poland almost all my life and I was never like: "I wanna get out of here!" But I just don't have the nerve to continue this discussion because I think it leads to nowhere... Céline is coming to Poland and tickets are not that expensive like some people were afraid they will be so isn't it a reason enough to be happy and think positively?! Peace. Dionesque Posted April 13, 2008 at 10:12 PM Posted April 13, 2008 at 10:12 PM I haven't say you are bad! No way! I think it just doesn't make sense to discuss because 1) we both have our different points of view and at least I'm sure I won't change it and 2) after all it's a topic about Céline Dion and her concert in our country and not about Polish politics, sociology or whatever else. isurrender Posted April 14, 2008 at 10:44 AM Posted April 14, 2008 at 10:44 AM I really hope that there will be a concert but I'm a little bit sceptical due to late organization and nothing being confimed. How long can we wait for the official info? If I remember well, tickets for the malaysian concert were sold only 1 month before the show. So Poland is quite lucky : more than 2 months before the show! lol But, I agree: organization for this tour is -for such an international star like Celine - simply unprofessional. Same for promotion of the tour. Here in Belgium she will do 3 shows of more than 16.000 people, and not even an advertising! I just hope than the polish concert will be soon confirmed! Quote
dododominika Posted April 14, 2008 at 03:21 PM Posted April 14, 2008 at 03:21 PM Yeah, I don't mind the late sale of the tickets, I mind the unconfirmed information about whether she's going to perform or not, because all we know by now is that she might come but nobody has said yet: Yes, she's coming, that's sure. :( Quote http://www.blogzurciu.republika.pl/avtar/podpis.jpg

Dionesque Posted April 19, 2008 at 06:05 PM Posted April 19, 2008 at 06:05 PM The Polish organizers are really lame... But even Sony confirmed (unofficially) that this concert will happen. But ok, the tickets for Kuala Lumpur show started selling only a month ahead so Poland is still well on time...
