do we have any idea how well (or not) the tickets are selling? :unsure:

 

I don't think we will be able to get that information. I did ask but got no reply but it's easy to tell with venues that have allocated seating. Just ask the system to choose the best seats for you and if front row is still available, well then, that's how well tickets are selling.

I think that the sales are slow at the moment.

As it gets closer to the time they will do more advertising and I`m sure the tickets will sell fast.

 

The biggest problem is that the prices are quite steep - especially for Durban.

I paid R888 for a front row ticket for Pretoria but R3590 for a front row ticket for Durban :mdr:

Yea the problem is definitely ticket pricing. Not one of the people I was originally planning to go with want to pay this kind of money, even for Celine, and since every other concert in South Africa, like Mary J, Pink, etc are no more than R400 for good seats, I see this as a huge problem.

 

Also, for Vergelegen wine estate you have to purchase a picnic basket through the estate, you're not allowed to bring your own refreshments. This just adds unnecessarily to the cost as well.

to the show in Durban, South Africa. got it yesterday. last ticket in the VIP section. cost me a months wages lol. last seat, front row. can't get any more front row than this one.

Well, that all said, the Golden Circle for Durban is almost sold out !! "Duchess" just bought the last front row ticket - and it`s the seat next to mine :kicking:

I guess there must be lots of other insane fans :laughing:

jane that was the last in the VIP section. there are no more tickets for that block "centre stage" in the VIP section. even the next 4 rows, B, C and D are all sold out. i'm not sure about the "golden circle" tickets. i think those could be gone as well. i will check.

ok just checked now, all VIP tickets are now sold out. no more anywhere in VIP. next is golden circle and block d in the golden circle is sold out. not many left in golden cirlce.

well i really thought tickets wouldn't sell lol. i guess she has more fans here than i gave her credit for. :whistling:

Cheerfuljane (are you from SA?) and in response to your question,

 

The charity gala concert at the coca-cola dome on February 14th 08 in Jo'burg is sold out. I got like 2 of the last 6 tickets!! I'm so happy!!

 

South Africa thinks she's amazing though - they play her in malls, everywhere and EVERYONE knows who she is. I think from what i've heard Cape Town is selling well.

 

Not sure about the other locations but i'm sure they're doing great!

Yes, I`m from SA :cheer:

 

I think a lot of poeple are realizing that this is a "once in a life time" opportunity.

My sister, who is not a fan AT ALL, is excited about going to the Durban concert.

So are some of my cousins and friends.

They all know that Celine has the greatest voice and is the greatest live performer :bananadance:

I'm going to the Pretoria one on the 16th Feb and the Gala one on the 14th Feb. My boyfriend bought me the tickets for the 16th as a birthday gift and to top it off he'll be going with me but unfortunately we are not sitting right in front neither of us had the money for front row tickets that cost almost R4 000 (it was like R3 900)when we purchased our tickets our tickets were R735 each so my boyfriend paid R1 470 We sit behind the golden circle in the front field. The Gala one on the 14th my aunt bought for me and her but since she paid for them she only bought us mezzanine tickets at the back. Oh well, at least I'm going that's all that counts! :clap: :clap: :wub:

When I bought the ticket for Pretoria - Golden Circle was in the front - there was no VIP Escapades !

Then they brought in the VIP section and Golden Circle is now behind that.

So my ticket is not front row :crybaby:

 

There`s a competition for a Meet n Greet with Celine :cheer:

i'm not too perturbed at what i paid. it certainly is far cheaper than jetting off to vegas for me. although for that price i hope she gives us a few minutes of her precious time to let us get some autographs and have a chat. :giggle:

I called Ticketconnection to see how the sales are going for Durban and the lady told me that they are selling WAY better than expected :cheer:

They thought that the sales would stagger and then pick up after the release of the new album but instead they have been selling steadily.

 

The VIP escapades section is sold out.

Block O South Stand is almost sold out (Cheapest tickets :D )

Middle Field is almost sold out.

Back field is doing well.

There are still plenty of tickets for East and West Stands.

 

This lady was SO excited. She is a huge fan and was so enthusiastic to tell me that sales were goining well :giggle:

 

She said that they're doing very well for Cape Town and Pretoria for 16 Feb but the 17th is not so good :P

 

Of course - the charity Gala on the 14th is completely sold out :bananadance:

So I`m now going to 4 shows in South Africa and one in Montreal.

Waiting for Florida sale :lol:

Front Row :bananadance:

With Shirley (Duchess)

 

Flying from Durban to Johannesberg in the afternoon

Staying at the Casino's hotel

Then flying back at 5am the next morning to go to my sister's wedding :lol:
