Cheerfuljane Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 In January I found that it was nice to know who was staying at my hotel so that we could meet in the foyer/lobby and then walk to different meetings or places together. It was my first time in Vegas and the more "experienced" Dutchies met me and walked with me to meet Marisa and Darryl for breakfast (Thanks guys) I probably would have gotten lost without their help I'm staying at: Imperial Palace10 to 16 December Which hotel are you staying at? Elaine Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Yeah! It's a really nice idea!! I'm actually not staying in a hotel... I'm gonna take a course there, so I'm gonna be in a house with a family... I'll get to vegas on the 9th and my course starts on the 10th, so after school we could meet somewhere! Quote http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/1352/opo3.jpg

KimboCosmo Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 (edited) Ok, so time is drawing near to booking time for us, and we have been looking into places, and at first I was hell bent on staying at Ceasars but now we are thinking something else. Is it better to pay more for a hotel and do less or pay less for a hotel and do more? If we spend less on a hotel, then we can do other things, we were thinking about doing the "Neon night flight over Vegas"...something like that, and a couple of other things. However, I don't want a total dump, and it does have to be on the strip. All the others just look kinda cheap to me, like Circus Circus, and Golden Nugget...those are not appealing at all! What do you guys suggest? I'm open to all opinions, and we are booking the WHOLE trip, plane tickets, car rental, hotel...everything! cannonball Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Circus Circus is a little farther down the strip (and I didn't go in, but it looked dirty to me), so you'd be doing a lot of walking or taking the bus. I'd avoid driving if you can, the traffic's a little insane. The Mirage was nice. It's right next to Caesar's and still close to everything. We had a pretty basic room, but it worked. If it's a choice between a better hotel or more stuff to do, I'd go for doing more stuff. I guess it depends on how much time you plan on spending in your room. I didn't spend much in mine. We really didn't even do that much other then see Celine and Mystere, but I loved just walking up and down the strip. We only used the room to sleep, shower, or take a quick nap before we went running around again. If you had to pick, other then Caesar's what would be your top choices if price wasn't an issue? WendyB Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 The Flamingo and Imperial Palace (both opposite Caesars) have had pretty good comments made about them on here, and both are much cheaper. The Mirage is about the same price as Caesars so you wouldn't really be saving anything by staying there You don't really spend that much time in your room, so save your money for The Strip! Quote

Yea, I'm not about the Circus Circus, so I just might have to deal with more expensive hotel. Is the Flamingo nice? Does anyone know? Cheerfuljane Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 While I was there in January I went to view some of the rooms at the Flamingo and I liked what I saw. Basic rooms but spaceous and very clean. It depends on the costs at that time of year I suppose ??The Imperial Palace is in a great location and is one of the least expensive around that part of the strip. Celinex Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hi.When I went to Las Vegas in february of this year I stayed at the Mirage we went when it was Celine's month off.I was gutted I really wante'd to see her show but Elton John was there and I saw him.It was a good show but not as near as good as Celine's show from what I have seen on the net.My sister went in may and said her show was amazing.I'm hoping to go in october to see it if I can get someone to go with me. KimboCosmo Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Why do all the hotels have a surcharge for internet service? I'm bringing my laptop, and of coarse I will want to put pics and what not on there while I'm gone! Does anyone know how much the surcharge is for your stay there? Hopefully not crazy expensive!? Clari Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 It's pretty much set that I will be staying at the stinky Imperial from the 13th until the 16th. I'm too much of a penny pincher. Cheerfuljane Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 No it`s not. I think it`s just because we compare it to all the surrounding lavish hotels !!The IP is smaller. The gaming section a small and crowded too.The rooms are fine. I liked mine. The low cost and location are a good excuse to stay there Quote
